Dave Russell Motor

No pressure sales at this place. It was so nice being able to look without being pounced on like most dealerships. I ended up test driving a vehicle and falling in love. A week later I decided to go back and get it. I LOVE it! My engine light ended up coming on and I called and spoke to Jeff and without hesitation he had me bring it in, gave me a loaner car and took my car to a mechanic and fixed the problem. The customer service and honesty they give customers is top notch! I will be purchasing all of my future vehicle from them!

Took a trip down to Portland this past weekend to look at a car that we had seen on Auto Trader.
Got into Dave Russells at about 1pm and proceeded to inspect the car, after about 10 minutes of walking around the car and inspecting the outside for damage, blemishes, etc. The gentleman working asks if I’d like the key to start the car up. Brings me the key, and then goes back to his business. I check the engine, the interior and everything that I can possibly check out without test driving the vehicle. The gentleman comes back to me and says «If you want to take it on a test drive, you’re more than welcome to». I say «My name is Timm» He says «I’m Dave». He’s the owner of the dealership.
I take the vehicle out and because I’m not from Portland, I get lost and this takes me on a journey throughout Portland that lasts an hour. When I return the the dealership, Dave isn’t worried at all and asks how I liked the car. I tell him everything that I like about the car and then let him know about the few minor things that are wrong with it. Dave’s a real straight shooter and before I can say «will you take…» he spits out a number lower than what he has listed and says «That’s as low as I can go on this one» I of course, try to talk him down, but Dave isn’t interested and is firm on his price.
I settled on that price and I’m 100% satisfied with the price for a couple reasons. 1) Dave didn’t run out when I got there and talk and talk and talk about the car and how great it was and that lots of people had already been looking at it. He was confident that if I wanted the car, it would sell itself. No hard sale, no pushing. 2) he’s been in business for 39 years selling cars and business’ won’t last if good people aren’t backing them up. 3) After agreeing on the price, he didn’t try to upsell any extended warranty or other junk that I didn’t want. I came for a car, I got a car.
From what I can tell, Dave Russell is one honest guy and that’s rare in todays world. I’m hoping the next time I need a car, Dave has what I’m looking for so I can buy from him again.
