What a fantastic wine-charity event we got invited to on Sunday(Dec 6th)! The front area is a restaurant but the back is a winery. That means you can sample tastings then buy dinner. We tried at least 8 different wines from 8 different wineries and enjoyed breads and cheeses and lovely spreads from Portland Creamery. The featured wineries were: Angel Vine, Clay Pigeon Winery, Division Winemaking Company, ENSO Winery, Fausse Piste, Fullerton Wines, Helioterra Wines, Hip Chicks do Wine, Jan Marc Wine Cellars, Seven Bridges Winery, Viola Wines and Willful Wine. Seven Bridges came out the clear winner for our group. Both of their reds had Malbec, which could be why we loved them so much. In fact, we ended up using all the rest of our taste tokens to buy a glass of their mixed blend and then took a seat in the dining area so we could visit and enjoy the place — instead of pushing our way through a crowd of fellow eager wine tasters. I hope to get invited to more events at Cyril’s because it was well worth the canned food donation and $ 10.

The previous night’s visit was random and out of the blue for drinks. I loved everything about this place so much that I had to come back with a date the following day to experience both the food and drink. This place has earned every star.

This place blew my mind. My boyfriend and I went when it first opened one Sunday afternoon and had the most amazing time. They exceed in service, quality of food, quantity, and their perfectly chosen drink menus. I cannot say enough good things about this place! We loved our bartender Nicole, she really made the experience extra special. We ate one of everything on the menu, one appetizer, one salad, one entrée and one dessert. I suggest you seriously consider eating your heart out because it’s all made to order and is so carefully executed. I think this IS the nicest, highest quality place I have been to in Portland. You must go.

The ayes have it — Cyril’s is a great spot for dinner and drinks, especially if you aren’t able to physically visit the Willamette Valley and want to sample some pinot and other Oregon standouts. While only a few years old, Clay Pigeon has established an intimate, minimalist restaurant that has the wonder winery aroma that permeates the whole place. You won’t find striking views of rolling hills, but you do have access to a boutique experience that makes you forget you are in the middle of a busy, bustling city. Service was friendly and street parking as easy on a Wednesday evening. Our party of three ordered the special watermelon-tomato salad along with the chicken special and both were amazing. I enjoyed the Phat Beet vegetarian burger with a side of greens. I always appreciate a bottle of water left at the table, which was quickly refilled. The menu isn’t extensive, but if you don’t like what you order, I think you might need some new tastebuds. The summer red flight was not the least expensive at $ 14 for three samples, but all came in large full-stem wine glasses. They have some craft beer available, but with Basecamp Brewery across the street there are more hop-centered options nearby. Cyril’s offers an intimate wine and dine experience without pretension. Nice job Clay Pigeon.

Amazing food and amazing service! We went there on our vacation and the staff was so friendly they gave us tons of recommendations to visit and no place was as good as there. We actually ended up going there twice within the 4 days in Portland. Their wine selection was better than any other restaurant we went to. Also a huge plus for the vegetarian dishes. It is always hard to find more then one vegetarian dish on then menu and they had tons. Beat burger and halluomi salad were amazing! Also deviled eggs were delish!

Wow– what a lovely experience and delightful food. We walked over from Basecamp Brewery and sat at the bar. Our server was friendly, professional and knew her wines. Hubby had a beer and I started with an Oregon white. We split a cheese plate with the 2 Oregon cheeses and asked that the others be selected to complement. The owner is a master at curating the cheese and meat selection. So happy we started our dinner at such a high note. I had the trio of salads and hubby had the Mac& cheese. After a week of eating our way through Portland, it was the perfect dinner. My salads were refreshing, bright and tasty. My husband would not share his Mac & cheese– if that tells you anything. There was a big party in the wine room and a third space outside with several parties enjoying the warm summer night. We will definitely be back — the desserts looked scrumptious.

We visited Cyril’s this past weekend at a friend’s enthusiastic suggestion. A nice, aesthetically pleasing and open space that complements the winery that shares the building with the restaurant, but what really stood out was the food(as it should). A great charcuterie plate and cheese list, but what blew me away was their salads. Salads? Yes, salads. I don’t remember the specifics, but we got an assortment of everything on the menu for our large group and everything was really excellent, and hit the spot on what was a record-setting hot day in PDX. Wine list is extensive and well curated. I’d definitely return.

We were there this evening to see a friend play music. The service was the worst — the worst I have ever seen. The waitress was rude — said she couldn’t handle the business, was rude to my family and eventually we had to cancel our order and go home. Literally one of the staff said«I won’t even sell you food we are so overwhelmed». If you can’t handle the business — don’t have a restaurant. If you are going to refuse to serve — why even have food? Horrific.

Hmm. Lots of aesthetically pleasing and innovative stuff happening, but not utterly enjoyable overall. The gnocchi is crazy good, as are the roasted nuts, and the olives. Other dishes so-so, with the cheese balls being a bland air ball. Became a little painful to have to wait so long between the very few points of contact our somewhat bitter sever made with our table. Sun roasting us, cute but small laboratory style water pitchers becoming empty. I’ll try again, maybe

Wonderful service, kind helpful employees, and most of all terrific food and wine! Cyril makes some great wines, but the salads were great as we’re the poached apricots and marscapone. Definitely will go back next time in pdx!

Clay Pigeon is one of the better wines being produced in SE. Cyril’s is a nice little within the same building and my girlfriend and I shared a meet and cheese plate which was delicious! I would recommend them for just wine and small plates!

Visited here for my friend’s live concert. Tasted cab franc and Pinot nor rose. Good selection of cheese and cured meet to go their wines. I want to try duck confit next time!

I had a lovely time here with friends recently. The food is delicious and artistic. We shared a cheese plate(we had monger’s choice, but they had a page full of options), duck confit, gnocchi, and root vegetables. I would happily order any of those dishes again. We drank the house made pinot noir, which was pleasant and earthy. The service was warm and friendly. I’ll eat here again!

We came for the Cheese Club(see Kickstarter each month) and stayed for the dinners. Too bad I can’t speak to the wine(I’m a teetotaler), but can assure you, Gentle Reader, that the food is delicious, creative, well-presented, and balanced. I had the duck confit, on kabocha squash w/a perfect portion of sautéed kale. DONOTSKIPTHESALADPLATE, a generous portion of three types available. The roasted parsnip w/walnuts was a revelation. We will return as often as possible.

Favorite happy hour in Portland. Always tons of room. The back patio is great for a summer hang. Staff is so awesome. Wish I knew the girls name who has waited my table the past two times I’ve been there, but she’s a gem. It’s casual but classy, the best combination!

Love love love this place. First of all the staff are amazing and extremely knowledgable about their products. We did the meats and cheeses. Must try the bay blue and the Moses sleeper and ewe calf. Seriously amazing cheeses. Very generous portions. A place you must take your friends. We will definitely keep supporting this fantastic business. Tip there is an outside patio that is fabulous with bocci ball!

I’ve been here once and had a good experience. I’ll be back for more wine and snacks. The wine menu was mostly unfamiliar to me which is great but I needed help ordering. I told the bartender(or sommelier if you want to be fancy about it) what I like and without any fuss he poured me three samples of what he thought was within my personal flavor profile. I liked all three, ordered my favorite then received a healthy glass of wonderful wine. There were many options for charcuterie. Each individual order was an ounce, which in the meat and cheese world is a generous portion. They had many delicious options. The supplier wasn’t listed but the bartender knew that the Chorizo Rioja was from Olympic Provisions when I asked. The interior is inner east side industrial. Tall exposed ceilings, large wood beams, exposed steel connections, big windows along two walls(well fenestrated if you want to be fancy about it). It would be a fun place for a large group. There seemed to be a meeting room off to the side. Great place, awesome service and wine. Totally recommend checking it out. It’s a great addition to all the other wine bars in the area.

Our time here was the most fantastic memory of our Valentines day. Or. maybe it was our last clear memory. because we got pretty wasted without really meaning too. You slutty little 2012 Syrah. liquid lil minx! I feel so seduced by that wine… and I am not even a Syrah fan! Hurry up and release this so we can buy some more! We shared a plate of prosciutto and various cheeses and bread… it was really a perfect snack before we hit the food pods. Our waitress, Nicole, was ONIT and just so very sweet and patient. When we sobered up the next day and looked at our tab, we realized my dude had only tipped her 10% like a drunken fool. So, he mailed her more $ to make up for it but, dang we felt SOBAD. Sorry Nicole. hope you got our note! They also sold these artisinal snicker bars that were delicious. I bought 3 but, wish I had bought the whole box. Hot damn! They were Beatrice and Ramona Bars. very cool ode to Beverly Cleary and right up my alley. If I ever find myself in Portland again for whatever reason, this will be one of those placed I seek out to go again.
