Classic Collection

Great store, great selection, great hats. It would probably help if you have a good knowledge of they styles of hats men and women wear, and a sense of what you are looking for, because walking into this store may overwhelm you with the variety of the selections. Then again, that’s a problem I’m sure you can handle without too much difficulty.

I love this place! (On Hawthorne) Last year a visiting friend wanted to send a gift to her nephew. We found his hat then spent a deligtful hour trying on hats for ourselves and bought two apiece! Staff was nice and helpful with no pressure. Happily headed over again to get a new sunhat for this summer and just recommended shop to wait staff at my brunch place where they need some shade on this hot day!

HATS OMG! Great prices and the selection is overwhelming though I do wish they had some additional style as well… like pub caps, pin box and such. If you need a fedora or top hat though they can hook you up and then some. I was very surprised at how well priced all the hats were as well. The service is pretty incredible — fast friendly service without them being up on you.

Classic Collection… This review will be about their location at the Clackamas Town Center mall. This is by far the worst shop I’ve ever been in. The store boasts an impressive array of hats ranging from ascot hats, to top hats (however most of the hats are wool, or not in any size bigger than a medium). I have even bought two hats and my friend bought one as well. However, this is where the store goes sour. Out of the hand full of times I have been there and the many times I have walked past there seems to only be one employee working there ever. She is a slightly heavy set women, who seems to be in her mid twenties. Every time I, and my friends have been in the store, whether to look around for fun, or to actually buy a hat, this women has ruined the experience. She wears clothes that reveal so much cleavage she might as well have her breasts exposed, she continually teases my friends and I, makes sexual, and innuendo hints and jokes. She randomly and often brings her private life into matters and then proceeds to complain about being lonely or tired and such. She strikes rather sexual poses while forcing myself and/​or my friends to try on strange hats. She has on several occasions made sexual comments about her body, basically asking me to look at her. Today while I was at the store with my friend, she did most of the above, but not only that, she hinted on marrying me, and then proceeded to not so subtly ask my friend over to her house to sleep with her. She has no regard for personal boundaries, even going so far as to touch my back, head, face, and even take an item out of a bag which I had purchased at another store. But not only that, she has removed the hat I walked in wearing to replace it with a ridiculous hat she «feels I NEED to try on», as well as «bumped into me» which was obviously her rubbing herself against me. I feel very uncomfortable around this woman and refuse to return to the shop while she is there. She is gross, vulgar, whiny, and invasive. I feel both uncomfortable around her, violated, and I would even go so far as to say I feel indirectly sexually harassed by her. This situation is both unprofessional, and inappropriate. The only positive thing I have to say about this woman is that the first hat I bought there, she gave me a 7 dollar discount, because «I had a hard time finding a hat» though It only took me 10 minutes max. However she ruined the good moment by telling me she was lonely and then fondling her breasts, nearly exposing her nipples. I would not recommend this store to anyone while this woman works there. The good hats are simply not worth the harassment.

First Location at clackamas town center was awesome but this location takes it to the next level. Plus there is other great shopping around it!

Their website simple doesn’t do them justice. Every inch is filled with a huge solution of men’s and women’s hats in about every shape, style and color imaginable. I had been shopping online and saw a hat I was very interested in, however I was reluctant to order from a picture at someone’s website. I wasn’t sure of the size and actual color let alone how I’d look wearing the hat. I was very pleased with the options of the style I was interested in at Classic Hats on Hawthorne. Not only was I able to touch, try on and admire the hats I’d only seen pictures of online, I know I saves money shopping local. The hat I bought was a brown bowler for a dollar more that the base price online, and I’d still have to pay for shipping online. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For anyone looking for a hat of any kind, I highly recommend that you swing by this shop and compare what you might see at someone’s website.
I look forward to shopping again at Classic Hats.

It’s a very eclectic array of hats and I had high hopes for this place, however, one some of the hats the quality is just not there for what the prices were. It is good if you’re looking for something temporary.

Okay selection of hats, but the shop was empty and the employee sat there watching– very awkward. In addition, the employee assumed I was just looking, which is pretty annoying. I’d prefer to be asked if I need help. The shop also had a weird smell to it. Altogether, I’m not going back– there are friendlier hat shops around.

I love this store! Lots of cute women’s hats and men’s hats, at reasonable prices.
Men, more of you need to start wearing hats again. Not just baseball caps, either.

It took awhile deciding how many stars to give Classic Collection.
Three seemed fair…
The store is divided half & half for ladies and gents’ hats.
The ladies side boasts a wall of various cloches, and a wall of elaborate Kentucky Derby hats.
Unfortunately 75% of Classic Collection’s lady hats are wool, (all of the cute cloche hats).
I do not wear wool whatsoever, so my options are whittled down the other 25% made from straw or polyester.
I’m not really on the lookout for a Kentucky derby or straw sun hat either…
I’m usually left pacing the cloche wall and lifting each hat one by one to verify its wool status.
Prices are moderate, about $ 30-​$ 40 depending on what you want.
Employees have always been nice, patient, and attentive without seeming pushy.
Will I return? Yeah, probably… I have high hopes a polyester cloche will surface one day.

Man, I thought Seattle had it’s urban hippy joints… but I gotta say Hawthorne blvd is nothing but blue haired pierced eye beer sippin retro happy hippies roaming the streets and shops! We took a stroll along the blvd after dinner and came across this nice little hat shop of quality style Australian made men’s hats. My Dad loved it in here, he was like a kid in a candy store with all of the cool selections. The shop keeper was really friendly and helpful as well, and for 28 bucks we got my Dad a pretty nice bowler: D

Fantastic assortment of men’s hats, including driver’s caps, bowlers & top hats, fedoras, western, Tyrolean, etc. Prices much better than expected.
