I recently moved to Portland from Chicago, where my regular stylist had increased his price for a basic haircut from $ 30 to $ 35 to $ 40 over the years. I decided to try and save some money after the move and went to SuperCuts. I got a good cut, and the stylist made a big deal about me coming back and making an appointment with her specifically. A month later, I did, but she didn’t remember me and it was like starting from scratch with the haircut. And because of the no-appointment policy, I had to wait over an hour. Next I tried All Teased Up, an unassuming, locally-owned business here in my new neighborhood. Catherine did a good job with my hair, and when I came back for my second visit, she remembered not only me but all the details of my cut. And the price was the same as SuperCuts. It’s the best of both worlds! This salon has a friendly, casual vibe and I’m looking forward to becoming a regular. I’ve noticed that they stay open during Last Thursday, so you could stop by then if you’re curious to check it out.
