Hannah is helping me through the awkward phases of growing out and repairing a bad cut from a different establishment. Right away she could pinpoint the problem areas on my irregular, fine, wavy hair, and she was able to make some changes that really improved it without making me «start over» from short.
She’s delightful and obviously knows her stuff!

Shannon is the best. Every time I go somewhere else to save time or money I regret it. A bad experience somewhere else today reminded me to leave an overdue review!
Shannon has always given me great cuts. She’s great understands what I want and asks good questions. She helped me fix a home dye fiasco and I get so many compliments on my color. She was excited to help me fix it had a lot of ideas. She able to get me in the next day for four hours. She’s easy to talk to so the time flew by. My hair would have been really damaged if I tried to fix it myself but now it’s healthy and growing fast. She did a great job with my brows too. Her personal style is cute so I trust her.
The place has a lot of natural light and the music is usually pretty good. The other stylists are funny and friendly.

I went into Chameleon Salon on a Monday afternoon and they took my walk-​in appointment. I had just cut my own hair pretty terribly over the weekend and was on the hunt for an affordable salon to fix it. Hannah took care of me and was so great to talk to! I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Hannah!

I went to Hannah and had an incredible experience. She walked me through the best options for my thick hair and really cared about the client experience. She knows her stuff and it was very affordable.

I’ve avoided salons for years, well it feels like years when your hair gets scraggly and dry. Usually I go in, say I’m trying to save length and they say cool. Then I leave with about 5 inches lopped off.
So I told Nicole (my stylist today) all about it. It was so nice that she listened and tried to form a game plan WITH me. As she went, she gave styling tips and made sure I saw the way she did it so I could replicate it at home. I’m a total tomboy and understand little about hair and makeup techniques. She was nice about it though. She did everything she could be make sure I was comfortable, she got my okay to remove 1.5 inches. She did a great job! Especially because the hair she was working with is fine, wavy hair that had been cut by me… A few times lol. I was desperate but nervous. In the end I was SO GLAD I came here. She corrected what I did to my hair with ease and speed. The products they use smell I great, work great, feel nice. The way she styled my hair (using a blow drier followed by a curling iron) was not intense, she was fast, and at no point was I nervous about getting seared hair. And I have to reiterate the tips she gave me on styling were super helpful!
She let me know that bang trims are free if she’s your stylist. I’d say it’s worth visiting for a trim and see if it feels right for you.
The location is fitting when you consider the name. It’s tucked back and inconspicuously colored. Very chameleon like lol. But inside it’s a complete salon. Very nice.
Full service. They do nails, waxing, up-​dos, skin care etc. oh and you can pop in to get a style before going out. Nicole said that if you do online booking, you may see she’s all booked up, so it may be best to call and ask. Sometimes color takes a while and she can style your hair while letting her other clients color do its thing.
I highly recommend this salon, I’m so glad I got the guts to try. Syoy

This review is for Sarah Jordan’s waxing services. She is super sweet and personable, and she does a great job. The salon itself isn’t The Ritz, but her service is so top notch, it makes up for it 100%.

Appallingly unprofessional service. My last TWO scheduled appointments were both cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. It took no less than 6 voicemails to even get someone to call me to schedule. If I was writing this review about the actual service received it would be a 3 star; decent haircare, decent price. But the unreliability of their staff makes them not worth dealing with.

Purchased a Groupon for two services with Drew. I tipped him $ 40 cash for the first one on top of the Groupon fee, but could never book the second one. Left several messages with no call back and my Groupon expired. In addition, the salon is dirty and unorganized. My overall statement is that I am sure there are talented people that work here however, Drew and the state of the salon are unprofessional which me with an overpriced service and an underwhelmed experience.

Came in to see Chelsea, looking for a miracle after frying my hair overseas. My hair was like straw and Chelsea did a conditioning treatment along with a cut that brought it back to life !!
I have come to Chelsea multiple times for color and cut and she always does a great job, this time she saved my life ! And she’s a fun sweetheart who makes me feel at home everytime :)

Since my previous experience with this Salon — I have experienced amazing customer service with the Manager of the Salon. She has done everything in her power to make my situation right and make me a happy customer. I appreciate her efforts and applaud the extra mile and dedication to providing excellent customer service. Thank you.

Kim did a really great job and was super thorough and kind with waxing! It was my first time and I’m super glad I went to her! Uses really good quality wax + makes sure she gets every hair :) will definitely return.

Always fun to discover new shops in NoPo that I like. Madelyn gave me the haircut I wanted and I love it!

I met Kim Miner. Experienced! Friendly! Efficient! She is personable and Is great at her job! Well priced clean inviting environment. I definitely would love to return next time I visit Portland Oregon.

Shannon did a wonderful job with my 5 year old. She was patient and very talkative to my daughter. It’s hard to find reasonably priced good haircuts for kids. We’ll be back to see Shannon for sure!

I am a regular client of Cam at this salon and absolutely love it. Everyone is so friendly which, in my opinion, is really important at a salon. The atmosphere and décor are hip but comfortable, not stuffy. I love coming here and so look forward to my appointments.

Although the location is not the absolute best the talent of the stylists and quality of the products make up for it! Chelsea is my stylist and she’s soo good with blonde and color. I always look amazing when I leave and she’s very bargain priced. I have heard the other stylists there are good as well but Chelsea’s mine!

My review here is for Madelyn on the cut and color service I received. Definitely a 5 star rating in all areas. The salon was so warm and inviting, clean and had so much character. Madelyn was awesome to sit with for my 3 hour appointment. She was so nice and patient with me. She really listened to what I want and made me more then happy when all was said and done. I got exactly what I wanted and I thoroughly enjoyed coming to her and this salon. I highly recommend her for all hair services.

I’m so incredibly torn as to what to rate this place. I came in for a Brazilian wax.
First impressions was that the building was cute! Inside, that is. Although the sign in the back that said ‘Parking In Rear’ was totally a lie. I mean. There was parking behind. About 4 spots. So. Parking was an issue for me. I went inside, and was immediately greeted by Sarah, who my appointment was with. We went into the waxing room and I about stopped in my tracks. Honestly. My first thought when I went to the room was ‘my god, this is why they need a groupon to get people in here,’ I looked at the waxing table (is it called a table? I’m not sure. I’ll call it a table here) and I was not thrilled. The sheet covering the table did not look clean. The towel she had laid out for me to cover myself with did not look clean. She quickly explained to me that the towel had previously gotten hair dye on it, so it wouldn’t wash out. She explained to me that she had spilled wax on the sheet covering the table previously, but it had been washed. I don’t know. Something about that really bothered me. I would rate the apparent cleanliness of this place a 1, maybe a 2.
Now. The quality of the wax was definitely 4-​stars. Definitely. It went smoothly and quickly (although I’m a bit of a baby when it comes to waxing). I have never had a waxer use strip wax on my bikini area, so that was new.
Overall, I would hesitate to return. Yes, I did get a wonderful wax. Sarah even offered to do the same deal if I ever wanted to return. But the fact that I’m now concerned about my health is not a good trade off. I’m not a germaphobe. Far from it. But when it comes to my bikini area, I definitely am. Honestly. If they had used paper on the waxing table and if the towel had been clean, I would definitely return. Until those changes have been made, I would hesitate.
Yes. I’m sure it was clean. But the appearance was incredibly off-​putting.

I made an appointment online which I found convenient. I was even sent appointment reminder texts to my phone, which I really liked.
I had a five o’clock appointment with Tracey (I randomly picked a person off of the website, but I chose wisely). Tracey was very nice and a lot of fun. I felt very comfortable and she did an awesome job on my hair. I went in for a cut and a color and I got the exact color I was aiming for, fire engine red.
If I still lived in Portland, I would definitely be going back here. I found the prices to be reasonable, plus I didn’t feel awkward or uncomfortable there like I do at most salons.

Been meaning to change this for a little while. I still want it said loud and clear, my experience here was great! Everything holds true with one exception, I can’t get my hair to look anything like what he made it look like. And that’s not what you hop for after a cut. I asked while he was styling, as he used a blower of some sort. But within a day, it went kinda flat and I left with what may be a great cut, but it really doesn’t look that great. I probably should have spoken to my stylist directly at the time. But so it goes. I did really like this place, but perhaps next time I’ll give another place a chance.
