Been going here for years and always love the food. Pat knows how to balance flavors and nothing is over salted so the true flavors come out. And if you are looking for a great patio for dinner this is the place. No traffic and the patio is a beautiful garden. The whole experience is relaxing and the food is delicious.

Fantastic experience all the way around; ambiance, service and food were top notch. Super friendly and attentive but not invasive staff. Amazing patio, enjoy fireside drinks, big movie projector with classic movies showing! Complimentary coconut donut holes, freshly made with your favorite after dinner drink(ours was Bailey’s) for the perfect finish! Check it out!

Everything I tried was on point ! The food had consistent, flavor, spice and texture. The cheesecake is very good with a run for the best desert in town. The menu has a varied variety of different foods and flavors from different parts or the world. Relaxing atmosphere, the staff(Steve) and the owner touched tables and are extremely professional. The place is amazing! And i recommend this to any foodie! Nice work and Cheers !

We arrived early and were immediately swept up by the owner and made to feel at home. I desribed to the bartender what I liked to drink, and he came up with just the right cocktail. Having finished that and the delicious bruschetta, I was thinking it could only go downhill from here, but I was wrong. So wrong. The ravioli with cream sauce with the Thai salad on the side seemed an odd combination, but both were so good who cared? Lovely people, comfortable interesting surroundings, wonderful food. A gem.

This place is not to miss! an amazing, hidden gem. The produce comes from his own local farm. Excellent menu, service and ambiance. The lettuce wrap and the grilled dates are not to miss. And try a bee sting — it’s a delicious drink!

I have to say i was very surprise, looking from the outside and the location you would never think the interiors and outdoor seating would be so amazing! The outdoor seating was so full of life from the lighting to the outdoor theatre to the northwest plants. The ambiance was just right for the evening.

It’s so hard to write this, I want to keep this gem to myself! What a truly lovely dinner and evening we had last night! The atmosphere here is just right, nice but not over the top, comfortable yet just a little fancy. The lighting might be my favorite part — warm lights and candles. In an age where«industrial chic» seems to be the PDX favorite, I still prefer romantic and warm! Dinner was amazing — the grilled prawns should not be missed, cooked to perfection. The cilantro salmon was seared perfectly and the sauce was light so you could still get the full salmon flavor. Chef/Ower Pat came by the table a few times to see how our experience was going and he made sure we were pleased with everything. He was even seen refilling water glasses — nice to see he cares about the entire experience at his restaurant! The tiramisu was amazing, by far the best I’ve had in years. Chef Pat was even kind enough to provide the birthday girl with a free dessert. We have found our new favorite restaurant and cannot wait to come back in Spring/Summer for the outdoor patio. Thank you for making my birthday dinner fabulous!

Amazing restaurant in Hollywood district. Tucked away a couple of blocks off of Sandy. Once you enter — you know you are somewhere special. The dining room is warm and romantic. The outdoor area is a wonderful retreat in warmer months. I love to start my meal with the bacon wrapped dates and Tom Yum soup. I have trouble ordering the main course as it is difficult to decide! I have tried just about everything on the menu and have enjoyed it all. The full bar makes wonderful cocktails and the staff is excellent. If you are lucky you will meet the owner/chef Pat!

Hidden gem of a place. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is intimate and the staff is extremely accommodating. We came in with a group of four tonight about 15 minutes before closing(we lost track of time), but they encouraged us to stay and gave us lovely service and amazing food! The butternut squash ravioli is to die for. We sat out in the heated sun room, which had great decorations and awesome music. A little more casual and eclectic than the main dining area; it was perfect. I’d highly recommend the back patio during the summer and fall months! It walks the line between neighborhoody and cosmopolitan, yet feels authentic. I can’t rave about it enough!

Best place I’ve been to in a long time. Tried to come here this summer but it doesn’t open until later in the day(not overly uncommon), so it just didn’t work out. Couldn’t figure out where I wanted to go tonight and I thought… Oh yeah! That one place! Couldn’t even remember the name of it so I just navigated to the general area. Upon nearing, I saw the warmly lit patio(on a very nice fall evening) and knew it was the place. Huge patio with great seating options! We walked in and noticed no one was sitting out there… not too surprising for a mid-November evening… so it was also unsurprising when the host paused a second before answering when we asked if it was open. The service and demeanor of the staff has been fantastic — accommodating, welcoming and friendly. We were the only people on the patio and what a shame! Beautiful evening, great ambiance, and we even got a table with a fire in the middle! The music was a great background… not too loud but loud enough to enjoy. I imagine this is a great hangout spot in spring and summer. The food was a little pricey but the portions and taste did not disappoint. A mostly Asian feel, but with enough variety for most palates. Even a trip to the bathroom was pleasant! I hesitated as I tentatively proceeded down a dark hall lined with cases of wine, to a small door with a handwritten sign. I fully expected it to be one of those bathrooms where I wish I was wearing a rubber suit and had a can of Lysol with me. Upon entering, I was pleasantly greeted with a faint hint of cloves and some dim but warm lighting from the chandelier style light fixture. There was even a winged chameleon painted on the wall… I don’t usually like to write such a long post for fear that no one will read it all the way through… but I just had to share my excitement over the vibe of the place. Though I didn’t eat inside, I imagine it’s a great experience as well. I will most certainly be back.

I have to say, this place is awesome. Seriously. I wish it weren’t so hidden. It deserves to be right on Broadway where everyone can see it, not tucked away… The staff is friendly and so knowledgeable about the food and drink. I asked a lot of questions because every thing sounded good and I couldn’t decide what to get. The food was AMAZING, I can’t stop telling people about it. The drinks were imaginative and delicious. Well deserved 5 stars!

I have been to Chameleon for dinner on several occasions, attended a wedding there and went to the Unilocal elite party. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Hollywood district. The prices are fair and the food is fantastic. The butternut squash raviolis can not be beat — a fall must. Great bar with excellent cocktails, or beer and wine if thats your preference. If you go in the summer — the patio is super fantastic — ample seating, beautiful art, garden and movies every night!

Was never a fan of Coconut Cream Pie until I tried their version: wow! I believe it’s their top dessert seller. The restaurant is very understated, not often mentioned as «one to try.» Attended a super Unilocal event. Great outside space for summer dining and special occasions. Inside, there’s some near nooks for privacy, and also for larger parties.

WOW! is all I can say. Well, that and 500 more words to describe how wonderful every last little thing is about this restaurant! From front to back, this place is gorgeous! The dining room is adorned with giant exotic flower arrangements, chandeliers & candlelight. The covered patio is more of the same, as well as colorful pillows along the bench seating and windows all around. The back deck is HUGE and is covered by sheets of silk and twinkly white lights. Also are a large variety of beautiful plants. Along the restaurant wall is a painted frame with blank canvas that they use to play movies on. Tonight’s movie was«Singing in the rain». This is definitively something I have to come back for! Now, the food. I started with curry and coconut milk chicken skewers and peanut sauce, fruit(pear) and cheese(blue). That alone was enough and I could have just gone up for seconds and thirds. But — there was also ground pork & mushroom spring rolls with a sweet chili sauce, bruschetta with tomato, parmesan and basil and the best green bean and carrot pasta salad I have ever had! I think it was the hint of peanut that had me. Lastly, we got to sample deep fried squash turnovers with a cheesy dipping sauce — which was being passed out by a server who walked the room. Those were fantastic as well! For libations, we were served 3 signature cocktails. The Spicy Chameleon, something with the name Captain in it(tropical with a pineapple garnish) and a Basil vodka drink — which was my favorite. I’d be all over the Spicy Chameleon but it wasn’t spicy enough. It was for my dinner companions, but I want my lips to be swollen from the heat if you are going to call it «Spicy». Instead, the hint of cucumber made it very refreshing. The owner/chef Pat Jeung circulated and visited with guests. What a lovely and hospitable man! He definitely deserved all the accolades he got for all his years of hard work in perfecting this gorgeous sanctuary in the middle of the city. I can’t believe this place has been around for 15+ years — because nothing this great stays such a well guarded secret. Until now, because. I have a very big mouth.

At a special event I enjoyed the skewered shrimp with basil. Lightly dressed seasoning enough to taste the freshness of tender shrimp. Butternut squash empanadas with a white dipping sauce; the sauce complemented the richness of the butternut squash. Pasta with vegetables in a cream lightly spicy sauce. The vegetables were bring green and crunchy fresh. Various selections of cheeses and fresh baked breads; Wow, the blue cheese is so moist and creamy; this is a rare find. So often the cheeses are not maintained properly, however this place knows how to do it. Chicken Satay skewers were done perfectly and the peanut dipping sauce is unique in a very good way. There melons and berry served are in season, sweet and juicy. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating for a friendly dinner or a romantic get away. I met the owner and he is passionate about the food served in his restaurant. What a great find ! This is such a quiet hidden big restaurant in a sleepy area of Hollywood District. I can not wait to return.

We had a family gathering here and the setting was superb. The wine list was great along with the appetizers and the main entrees. Pat the owner made a special cake for my Aunts 94th birthday. I would love to return and sit outside when their is entertainment and movies Thanks for a wonderful event.
