Used to be great but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. Sometimes by almost 4.00! Crazy to raise prices that much and reduce the portion size. Won’t be coming back anymore. Sad I really liked this place!!!

Burritos are very good. Waiter is kind and service is fast. Adding A Jarrito to any of the meals is great. But lines can get long for take out on weeknights.

I tried the tamale plate. Aside from the fact they forgot a side item, and corrected it within 5 minutes, the food was solidly delicious. Not amazing, but pretty darn good and super fast service. I’ll probably return.

Love it every time! Always loved their food, especially the chimichangas and carne asada burritos.

Went on a Friday night around 6-ish with some friends prior to a movie. Ordered the carne asada burrito and chips/salsa for the table. Although we were served in a reasonable amount of time, the chips/salsa came with the food. I mentioned to the server I thought we’d get them earlier — he just had a «what do you want me to do» posture. The people at the table next to me laughed and said that their chips and guac came after their meal. They seemed surprised to be busy on a Friday. Oh, possibly the chips could be hot. ;-) Otherwise, it was a good experience and I was impressed at the amount of meat in the burrito. My guests seemed pleased with their dinners as well. I will return!

First time at the NE Broadway location. Staff were fun and easy to get along with. Ordered a really spicy margarita that I can’t recall the name of, but EASILY top 5 margaritas of all time! The food was solid too, with their Pastor Chimichangas being some of my favorite eats. For a sit down indoors mexican restaurant, cha continues to be a hard place to beat! Also some of the best Margaritas in PDX. Sidenote: You really can’t compare this and taco trucks or food stands in Mexico. That’d be like complaining that your economy car just doesn’t accelerate like the Sport Bike you got on once. They’re two different experiences entirely. If you want a solid sit down experience in PDX, this is always a safe bet.

My wife and I have passed this place many times but never stopped until now. I wish we would have stopped by much sooner. The food was amazing at great prices. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the great experience and hospitality.

OMG! The food is amazing! Great veggie/vegan selection. Ambiance is cozy and staff is very friendly. Their burritos are to die for and choosing can be difficult as everything sounds(and is!!) so delicious. Don’t miss out on this gem of a restaurant!

Consistently good mexican food. Not a super diverse menu, but not just a taco or burrito only menu either. Decent prices and friendly service.

This is by far the best of all the locations! 2nd is Fremont. The other locations do not compare. The NE location has the best drinks, margarita of the day is always great. Delicious food: drunken shrimp burrito, nachos, quesadillias, and the service is excellent. They do get busy and sometimes the food takes longer but it’s worth the wait. Sellwood and Lombard locations no bueno :( This is my go to HH spot on Friday ;)

We were looking for a Mexican food place near home and Unilocal said it only had three stars. We decided to try it anyway. This place has FLAVOR! If you come here, be sure to try the carnitas. They taste good and are not dry. The spices used to marinate it are delicious and not spicy, just flavorful. It’s not extremely welcoming and the staff don’t cater to you, but they’re polite and serve you. The food I had, which was the carne plate, was delicious and I want to come back and try other dishes.

Food was delicious, drinks were terrific! I got the napolatis(sp) salad with grilled steak and it was scrumptious! It is a cactus salad! I am not even a salad type person. Definitely recommend, maybe a little pricey with drinks, but for your money you get good quality food, with a short wait time! This place is way underrated. Check it out for yourself. Staff is super friendly too!

Great food! I mistakenly ordered the Whole-Bowl(healthy option) which was great but definitely not as awesome as what my boyfriend ordered. So we ended up splitting his dish which included lots of steak and savory sauces. Fairly priced and great atmosphere with friendly servers. They seem to offer a lot of options and specials as well! I’ve heard they also make a mean margarita.

I like trying different taquerias in town, so I stopped in at Cha Cha Cha on NE Broadway because I just happened to drive by. I ordered a pastor taco(which is what I always get everywhere else) and a chorizo taco. The pastor meat was a bit too wet, I thought. I prefer it to be a bit more browned.(OK, I know that pastor is braised in juices, but some other places also grill the meat for a moment before putting it on the taco.. .so that it won’t be so wet and runny.) The chorizo is their house made crumbled sausage, and seemed like chili meat. Both tacos tasted just OK, but nothing special. Also, I thought they were skimpy on the amount of meat, so they were not a good value. Well, I’m probably spoiled because I regularly go to other taquerias where you get a lot more for less money, and it tastes better too.

Jeez. I WANT to love this place. But for the past 10 years, there is always, ALWAYS some rude waiter/waitress who ruins it all. Make sure you check the references of the staff you choose to see if they have good customer service skills! Also, perhaps it is that they are stressed since there is only one employee working at a time in the front and the line can be very long? FOODISAMAZING. Make the front of house staff amazing too. :)

I’ve been here with a friend who is Hispanic by the way we ordered some food my food had hair and then when she tried to explain to them in Spanish that there was hair in the food they act like they didn’t know what I was talking about and just wanted to take it off one taco and Not remake my order so my experience here it! Not a good experience I would not recommend it… go to chipotle

Cha Cha Cha is fresh food made fast and good. I had one of several vegatarian/vegan burritos with house roasted pasilla peppers(pablano) tonight for take-out. They also have two excellent hot sauces; a green and a red. All the ingredients were very fresh and well prepared; especially the beans! Very good value. The atmosphere is casual and the service is friendly. Look forward to visiting again when I need fresh food on the go.

Lots of veg items! Their chile is veg! Salads are gigantic(so don’t think about ordering a salad AND something else or you’re taking it home). Tasty food, quick service, and counter staff was friendly.

I recently ordered take out from this Cha! Cha! Cha! I’d not been before but was curious to try a new mexican taqueria. I thought the staff were efficient; there was a long line in front of us despite it being around 730 mid-week. We were served and got our food quickly. The food was, on the whole, bland and uninspired. I ordered one vegetarian(cheese and poblano peppers) and one pork tamale with black beans and a side of sour cream. Their sides of sour cream are expensive but it was enormous — close to what you would pay at a grocery store. Unfortunately, it tasted like pineapple. I like my sour cream to be, well, sour… or at the least neutral. The black beans were quite good although no spice to speak of. I would definitely order the black beans again. The tamales were were long and thin and the masa to inner ingredients ratio was nice even though the tamales themselves were on the smallish side. They were ruined by being drenched in a boring tomatillo sauce. I liked the vegetarian tamale better than the pork. The poblano chiles while not easy to eat in a tamale format were tasty whereas the pork was tasteless. The price was okay but I wish I had stopped in to try them for happy hour instead for, perhaps a smaller menu sampling at lower prices. The store was very, very clean.
