They always have some interesting flavor combos in their baked goods which I appreciate along with the unpretentious atmosphere. Good value too.

My wife and I walked over to Bushel and Peck after being quoted for a stupid long wait at one of the more acclaimed brunch spots in Portland. We were gratified that there was no wait and that there was a lack of pretense in the menu. That being said, the menu is limited, so if you want something other than a biscuit sandwich or quiche or pastries for breakfast, you might be out of luck. We both had the biscuit sandwich and it was delicious and fresh. The biscuit was well-made and made a great foundation for the egg, meat, and cheese. The price was right and the service was quick and efficient, although not terribly friendly. Recommended.

I was pretty happy with the biscuit sandwich. I stopped by on my way exploring the city since I’m in town for a few days. My mission this trip was to find different unique breakfast spots. I wasn’t sure about this place at first because of the location but then again I’m not too familiar with Portland but as I was walking from my hostel the neighbor seemed like it was developing but had a few homeless people around. The biscuit itself was pretty good. The staff was rather friendly. The only problem is that the power went out but it wasn’t their faults so I couldn’t finish my work on my laptop. I gave this place four stars for their tasty and unique biscuit.

Quintessential Portland bake shop. We ducked in for a quick breakfast sandwich and tea before hitting the road. They have one of the most unique breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had: a fried egg on a cinnamon biscuit with spinach and some kind of spicy pumpkin-like spread. It was a literal party in my mouth: sweet, rich and deliciously gooey. I’m glad we don’t live closer because I’d want one every Sunday morning. Tea was strong. Definitely going to be alert today. It would be great if they wiped the dew off of the chairs outside and maybe added cushions to make the metal a little less cold. Overall, it’s a great little breakfast spot.

This bakery/café is located along MLK near other popular restaurants like Ned Ludd and La Cocina. I’ve been twice in the past week and really enjoyed my experience thus far. On my first visit I got the breakfast sandwich, which I had seen a coworker bring to work once and craved ever since. I’d stopped in twice previously around 12pm on a Sunday and they were sold out. This time I got there around 10 and they were still stocked up. The biscuit was amazing. I’m not huge on bread, but I know a great biscuit when I have one. Fluffy, buttery, and milky delicious. In between the halved biscuit was a fried egg, gravy with tasty large chunks of sausage, spinach, and I believe pumpkin. I was surprised by the last ingredient, but it added a nice sweet flavor to contrast with the salty gravy. I have also tried their sandwich(there’s only one) and very much enjoyed it as well. I’m more of a breakfast person, but this lunch sandwich was made of fresh ingredients like ham, cheese, arugula, apple jam, and a little dijon. I believe the bread was ciabatta. It was lightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Very good! I resisted getting a pumpkin cream cheese muffin on my first visit and ended up getting a peanut butter apple one the second time around. It was great and I’m now wishing I had gotten the pumpkin one as well. The coffee is fresh and well made too. As it is walking distance from my place, I can’t wait to go back and try more baked goods!

Yum yum yum yum! I was Unilocaling for a breakfast spot in Portland that we could just get on the go since we were heading to Multnomah Falls. Bushel and Peck’s breakfast biscuit sandwiches caught my eye and next thing I know, I’ve got in my hand a warm biscuit wrapped around a baked egg, peppered bacon and fresh spinach. The kicker was the apricot sage preserved they smeared inside. All the flavors just melded together in perfect harmony. It’s not huge but it’ll be enough to satisfy your morning appetite. We ordered a cup of fresh squeezed OJ too, and yes, it was worth it. So sweet, it filled my tummy with happiness.

Thank Zeus that I don’t live closer to this place. If I did, my willpower would surely crumble and I’d survive on a diet consisting entirely of their baked goods. Instead, I’ll simply have to settle for Bushel and Peck Bakeshop being an occasional stop on my rotation of PDX coffee spots. This might be a less delicious scenario, but one in which I’ll be much, much thinner. So this place is tiny and adorable. It’s kinda/sorta has a country kitchen vibe, but it’s not over the top. They have a wide range of baked goods, all of which look ridiculously tempting and decadent. I opted to stick with a biscuit egg sandwich. These are a pretty common menu item, but Bushel & Peck stand out from the crowd by adding arugula and an apricot preserve that brings a hint of sweetness. It was seriously delicious. Coffee is by Trailhead. Refills cost you fifty cents, so if you’re a caffeine junky like myself I recommend prepaying for one or two so that you can just walk up and pump yourself another cup out of their Aeropress without having to wait in line. Speaking of the line, it remained steady during my two hour visit, so clearly this business is popular. They’ve got the free wifi. They’ve got tables of various sizes for working solo or holding a meeting. They’ve got a friendly staff. I am most definitely a fan.

Suuuuch a cute place. Tried their very unique lemonade made with vanilla bean, had an iced coffee, and my friends got one of their scones. Enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. Would love this around the corner from me.

Came across this cute bake shop after finding out the Mexican place across the street was not open until 11. :-( I’m very glad we found it because the food and atmosphere were nice. I ordered the quiche which had lemon cream cheese and peas in it and it was wonderful. I thought it looked a little burnt, but it didn’t taste like it. Mom ordered the sandwich that came with salami and turkey with some other stuff in it and she was loving it. We split the salad that came with arugula, goat cheese, hominy, strawberries in a buttermilk chive dressing. Arugula and strawberries were very good, but I don’t care for goat cheese, so I pushed that to the side and the hominy was a little too hard for my liking. I drank a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice and that was veryyy good. The woman who took our order was very fast, efficient and friendly.

My favorite on-the-go breakfasts are oatmeal with milk, and granola with yogurt. This place has delicious versions of both! The oatmeal is real, steel cut oatmeal. Not the instant stuff you get at coffeebucks. And the granola is officially my favorite coffee shop granola. The menu has good variety, offering pastries as well as real food. I’m eager to try the soup, salads, and sandwiches. The shop itself is super cute. I love the furniture, the colors, the display. This is a great neighborhood coffee shop to sit and sip or grab and go.

I visit a lot of coffee shops. Most of the time I really enjoy my coffee and the atmosphere, but never do I sit there thinking, «this is now my absolutely most favorite place in the world now.» But that’s kind of what just happened when I went to Bushel and Peck for the first time. Maybe it had something to do with the adorable woodsy-meets-dollhouse interior, or maybe it was the most delicious lemon-basil bar I’ve ever had, or maybe it was the fact that I ordered three shots and since they pull doubles, she offered me the fourth for free. Or maybe it was the perfect manner in which she crafted my coffee drink. I love making my own coffee. In fact, I manage a coffee shop elsewhere in town. But those things will not hinder me from frequenting my new favorite place on earth! That’s not even hyperbole.

Checked out this little bakery shop and I’m delighted with it! The freshly squeezed orange juice is everything to me that I had to order another 16 oz(the employee was joking that we would make her run out of oj for the day). What was really surprising is how soft the biscuits were. They were warm and melted into your mouth. I had the banh mi and the breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich is what I’m raving over. It looked rather small but very filling and delicious! The banh mi didn’t taste like a traditional Vietnamese sandwich. It was still tasty, however everyone that had the banh mi agreed that it tasted a lot better when it was warmer(cuz we left it in the car for a bit while white water rafting haha).

Sorry, I thought my mocha tasted kind of generic(i.e. I bought it at the airport) and my chocolate chip cookie was overly sweet and also generic. We were so unimpressed that we have yet to be back, which is a complete bummer considering how close it is to my house. Perhaps we’ll be motivated to head back at some point, but we quickly struck this from our list of places to try. Bummer I hate giving mediocre reviews :(
