D.J. is the best massage therapist that I have ever been to, and trust me I have experienced hundreds of massages. At first I was reluctant to try Thai massage, but after three friends recommended D.J., I decided to make an appointment. D.J. is AWESOME! I always leave feeling a thousand times better than I did when I arrived. D.J. is great about catering to your specific needs. He understands athletes and is a competitive runner and triathlete himself. He also listens to the body and checks in with you to make sure that you are comfortable with the level of pressure. When I was injured last March, D.J.‘s massage helped speed my recovery. I saw instant results. Now, I am determined to see D.J. regularly, so I can avoid future running injuries. DJ is the man! Your body will thank you for coming in to try out Thai massage. I have been a regular for years and would not have the success as a athlete without DJ’s help. DJ adapts to your needs whether its sore muscles, working with an injury or coming in to relax after a stressful week. He is very reliable and flexible to fit your needs! Highly recommend!

The most unique combination of massage and stretching. DJ is the king at getting your body to feel good again. Like getting a massage while doing yoga but all you do is lay there and relax. And if you have deep muscle issues he knows when to go deep to get at the knots. You will feel better after without being super drained like some deep massage. Plus it almost feels like a chiro adjustment too. I feel more aligned afterwards.

I have gone to DJ a few times now. I have come to realize how important massage is as part of a heavy training regimen. DJ got me fully prepared to run a great marathon. He is thorough, knowledgable and very responsive to not only what you tell him but also what your body is telling him.

For the uninitiated, Thai massage can seem very unusual. It was described to me as «yoga for the lazy.» It’s really more Stretch-​y than Massage-​y. It is Outstanding for an active person, athlete, or adventurer of any sort, and D.j. de Austria is amazing at it. He is expert in stretching things you didn’t know could be stretched and deeply massaging muscles for quick recovery. I cannot recommend D. j highly enough. Treat yourself regularly to his craft. You will love it and your body will thank you.

I have been getting bodywork from dj weekly for a very long time! As an athlete, I am constantly in need of being worked out, and every time I receive bodywork from Dj, I leave feeling «put back together.» his knowledge of Thai and the body is fantastic, and his warm and sweet personality is awesome. You must come see him; he does wonders for you, your body, and your performance as an athlete!

D.J. DeAustria of Body Work for the Active is an outstanding Thai massage therapist. An independent LMT, D.J. also works with Sulis chiropractic which can be great for clients/​patients like me who pair the treatments back to back. Another useful thing to know is that some insurance plans cover both treatments, so inquire if this applies to your situation. As for D.J. himself, he’s really an outstanding practitioner. He’s very knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology and he effortlessly combines his professional training with his intuitive understanding of the many nuances of the body. D.J. is a great listener, is very patient with the healing process, and has a very good sense of when things are «sticking» or resistant and when they are more fluid, flexible, strong, etc. D.J. is tuned in to appropriate pressure techniques as he works along the body and checks in to make sure that what he’s doing is comfortable or for the tough spots at least tolerable. :-) D.J. also has a very calm, almost Zen-​like demeanor, which makes the entire experience not only therapeutic from a pain reduction perspective, but extremely relaxing. He’s an accomplished triathlete and has many athletes as clients, so this is a big plus for runners, bikers, swimmers, and really any person who wants to stay active and physically fit. Even if you don’t exercise very much though, D.J. still provides effective relief for pain and Thai massage will at least include a little bit of exercise and stretching during the hour treatment. Highly recommended!
