This store featuring jewelry, accessories & home décor mostly from Indonesia is a fun place to shop for gifts. The proprietor is a relaxed friendly guy who didn’t seem to mind that I browsed in the small store for a couple of hours. Items for sale range from tchotchkes to large pieces of art and furniture. I especially liked the colorful lamps. Be advised however that this shop has been having a «going out of business» sale for at least two years.

Very lovely place, great people. The prices are very reasonable. The handmade paper journals are one of the least expensive items, and there are ornaments – handmade, fair-trade, and environmentally friendly – that range from $ 3 on up. The furniture and wooden decorations are all handmade and often are from recycled wood Love it, please have a visit if in Portland, OR.

I wandered over to Blue Butterfly after picking up a few things across the street at New Seasons one day. I drive past this place all the time and have always meant to stop in. The owner seemed to be a really friendly guy. They have a lot of unique decorations and the prices seemed reasonable. I might have to go back and get that red lotus lamp and tiled mirror I had my eye on! Still trying to decide where I’d put them.

Great variety of unique imports, reasonably priced. Proprietor is down to earth and seems pretty honest(at least to me, and I do trust my gut instinct on these matters). Picked up something for my dad here(who’s not terribly daring) and something for myself(who is moreso).

I liked this place. It reminded me of Nomadic Traders on Newbury St. in Boston. They have some furniture, some cheap jewelery, and some clothing. Most of the things are from Indonesia, and the main draw is the big wooden shelves made out of spindly trees. I can’t explain why, but there was a somewhat odd vibe in the store. I left with a wool sweater(my first in 8 yrs– since moving to CA) for $ 29, and was pleased with it. But I’d say be conservative on your shopping at Blue Butterfly. It seemed as though things may break rather easily.
