We waited near 1 ½ hours for our food. The waiter never checked on us to see if we needed drinks or anything to hold us over comfortably. When he delivered my drink that I had to order from the hostess since he was no where to be seen, I asked when our dinner was arriving because we were starving(almost 8:30 got there at 7:00) he gave us complimentary soup because they were so behind. When we finally got the food, my partner was cranky as all hell from low blood sugar. This was our date night. The shit is expensive and mediocre at best. Probably won’t come here for date night again.

Came here on a weeknight for the first time and was surprised by the wait time it took to take our order and get our food. Maybe around 45 minutes! Aside from that, I really enjoyed the vegetable coconut curry I had. I had about half to take home as leftovers so the portion size was pretty big in my opinion. We also ordered a bottle of wine, and the fingerling potatoes were a great starter dish to share. I’m not sure if I’d come back, considering the service and price, but if you don’t mind that the food is great!

I brought my omnivorous MIL& Husband here for lunch and they LOVEDIT. I was really surprised. There was a 30 minute wait at lunch, which I understand now because the facility is tiny. And the food comes out slowly, even by west-coast standards. It was annoying after waiting 30 minutes but the food was really tasty, fresh and imaginative. I would come back in a heartbeat. I will continue to bring meat eaters here so they can experience top-notch plant based food. Maybe we can lure them to the dark side!

Great food, but the wait for a table is insane. We called ahead and were told there’d be no problem getting a table for 2(no reservations taken for 2). We’ve been waiting over an hour, and there’s still four couples ahead of us. I suppose that, technically, there’s no problem getting a table if you arrive not at all ready to eat.

Excellent raw, vegan and gluten-free options. In addition, the vegan cheesecake remains one of the best. Consistently healthy and delicious cuisine!

I visited Portland for an interview for naturopathic medical school, and being a vegan, I had to find a quick place to eat dinner. I had my plan ready for the entire day: arrive at Portland by 8 pm, go to a restaurant and eat until 9 pm, and get to a nearby grocery store to buy some fruits for breakfast, and finish before 10 pm. I arrived at the restaurant at around 8:15 pm, waited until 8:40 pm to be seated, ordered my food right away, and the food came out at 9:20 pm. I know certain restaurants take a long time, but this was just way too slow. I still gave this place 3 stars because the food tasted great. I love how everything has so much flavor and the portions are fairly large allowing you to feel satiated. The bibimbap was very delicious, and the coconut curry was very flavorful. If you are willing to wait a long time to try this place out, this is the place for you.

I was very surprised on how good the food was! The environment not as hip as it could be and felt boring, but the vibe was cool along with the great waiter. I loved the raw nachos for an appetizer! Dinner was amazing with all the food choices. Weak Beer and wine selection but ok due to the food. Parking was an issue as you have to find it on the street and walk… Service was very good, hostess could have been better as the reservation was late seating us and she was not that friendly or was rushed…

Lotus Wrap was incredible, huge portion and so much flavor. I really love the peanut sauce it came with. For $ 2 more I got chips and salsa that were solid. 7 beers in bottles or cans, 1 on tap that was a very good ipa. Beers were more than I like to pay but $ 5.50 isn’t too bad when you’re getting a great beer. Will be back very soon

Sooooo good — The live nachos are my go to comfort food now! Also recommend the bimbimap(?) as well! Have been here 3 times and never disappointed — ever.

For the healthy pragmatist who wants some veggies but won’t renounce a nice dinner with a glass of wine. The house salad is a bright heap of kale, carrots, and beets with spike of vinegar that makes your eyes tear. The bibimbap combines mushrooms, a variety of pickles, and a peanutty soy protein, stout and chewy enough to compete with the traditional shredded beef. On a Friday night, service was sweethearted but clumsy and slow, and the high ceiling amplified the raucous vegetarians laughing over their third glass. Sunday brunch stars a tofu scramble, but it’s a dull yellow crumble that does not deserve the leading role. The side dishes steal the scene: the biscuit is so delicate it begins to flake apart under the weight of the jam. Pop it into your mouth in one bite.

I LOVE the food here but I have to say the service is lacking. I think I overlook that because I really enjoy the food so much, but I have honestly never had an experience there where any of the wait staff made me feel very welcome. They are cool, almost cold, and rarely smile. It’s almost as if they feel they are better than you or something. Just my experience. I certainly don’t go here for the warm friendly service, but it would be great if the level of service matched the amazing food!

For me Blossoming Lotus is just ok… I have been here twice, and only one thing off the menu rocked my world. It was the fingerling potatoes with caper ranch. I believe it’s made with macadamia nuts, and the rich creaminess combined with the caper flavor is awesome! We had to order extra ranch and still didn’t finish the potatoes. I don’t remember what I had the first time besides that ranch, so it must not have been too memorable. Asparagus was also good, but nothing special. We had a salad with spinach and kale that I though was ok and my mom loved. It had a light dijon dressing. I was thoroughly unimpressed with the mac and cheese + side of soy curls I had. I tasted my mom’s raw nachos which were much tastier than my meal, so I’ll probably order that if I find myself here again.

Amazing delicious vegan place across the bridge. Parking: There seemed to be some street parking near the restaurant. Service: Excellent; the wait staff were patient when we asked questions. Wait time: We went on a Saturday evening and had to wait about 20 minutes — not bad. Food: I got the collard wraps with almond cheese and a salad. The food was interesting, well-spiced, and carefully made. I had a cheesecake to go and enjoyed every bite. I would go back if in the area.

This place is always soooooo slow! Even when there are only a few tables and numerous waiters, the service is painfully slow. Furthermore, the food is okay… In comparison to other vegetarian/vegan places in town(i.e. Harlow), this place isn’t as good but the prices are higher. I wish they would step up their game, because the location is prime, and I would totally be a regular if it was worth my money and time. So bummed.

Very good, healthy spot but the restaurant is small and I had to wait 30 minutes for a table for two on a Friday during lunch time. The menu items are very diverse, and my first choice option was not available(cauliflower pizza), so I ordered the curry veggie dish. Most items on the menu are gluten free. My veggies were great, but the curry was a bit thin and very mild/plain. If I were back in the area, I would probably eat here again if the wait time was short, but I would try a new dish.

I’ve found over the years mostly disappointment with vegan restaurants. Blooming Lotus certainly doesn’t disappoint! Interesting brunch selection and all of our dishes had great flavor profiles. The coconut chai is yummy as is their Beet Bloody Mary.

I first visited Blossoming Lotus almost two years ago and, although I appreciated their attempt to offer some raw vegan dishes, I was decidedly underwhelmed. In particular, I whined to the waitress that the collard wrap was bland and ordinary. Well… that was then! Let me tell you the brand new story. First the backdrop. You see, I’ve been traveling for a week and trying to do raw out of a suitcase. Not good, people. Smoothies from unripe breakfast buffet fruit, days old dehydrated yam burgers or limp salads with whatever sad raw veggies the kitchen would spare. I returned home today to find that my nephew, who was supposed to paint while we were away, is still at it. So, I’ve had about 3 hours sleep in the last 48 hours. I’m jet lagged and cranky. I am DYING for something really fresh, delicious and satisfying. What’s a raw vegan girl to do when she’s locked out of her kitchen? I get in my car and make the rush hour trek to Blossoming Lotus. Apparently, they just introduced a new menu yesterday. I don’t know if they just changed the collard wrap or if it’s been this good for a long time. But… it is to die for. Or, perhaps I should say, to LIVE for. Fresh, crunchy, bursting with flavor and freshness, super deeelicious! Not heavy at all, but just right. Now, as a 80÷10÷10 low fat raw vegan, I realize it was probably more fat than I should eat in a week, but if you’re going to be all wrong, this was worth going to overfed raw vegan purgatory for. The Lean Green Smoothie was very good, too, with, perhaps, unintentional bits of raw dates here and there. But, I personally love my smoothies a bit chewy. Honestly, I wanted to eat it all. But, I knew I would be so sad when it was all gone. So, I took two of the four generous wraps to go. I don’t think they’ll make it till tomorrow. But, then, raw cuisine is best when freshly made. Next time, I’m going to try the maki rolls. I was going to order them to go, but when I realized I wouldn’t — or shouldn’t — I figured I would save them for the next visit. Which will be very soon!

This style of vegan food(think Café Gratitude or Veggie Grill) has turned into our favorite type of food to eat and this place does it as well as any we have tried. Items are on the pricey side, but no more so than any other place that serves food of this type. Organic, bohemian vegan is always on the expensive side. In terms of atmosphere, this place is somewhere between nice and casual. Nice enough to bring a date to, but casual enough for almost anything else. It may have been a bit too much on the nice side for our tastes. As parents there is no such thing as too casual. We were blown away by how good the food was. I ordered the green bowl, my husband the bibimbap and we ordered the«cheeseburger» for our son. And tortilla chips for my daughter(she won’t eat much). Yes, he liked it! Not as much as a real cheeseburger but he still ate most of it. The house-made lentil walnut patty was delicious. They put a bit too much cashew cheese on it though and it ended up being too heavy. The other two dishes were awesome! The soy curlz are definitely addicting. We had never had anything quite like those.

We got BL delivery via Caviar this evening for dinner! The bibimbap was delicious, as was the green bowl. Delicious, and also the kind of meal that makes one feel virtuous. The driver got lost, so it could have been warmer, but I’m not docking any stars from this rating for the delivery delay!

I waited years to finally be able to go to this place. As a long time vegan Blossoming Lotus was on my radar from the get go after moving to Portland but as a very poor student didn’t make it here until my mom visited 2 years later. We decided to come here her first night into town. We called but they wouldn’t let us make a reservation so when we got here around 7 at night we weren’t surprised we had to wait. But we ended up waiting an hour and a half in like, their windowsill which was the only place to sit. They didn’t offer us drinks or acknowledge us waiting the way you’d expect in a gracious restaurant(obviously, they are not.) I tried to explain to my east coast mom that waiting in Portland is kind of customary if not«a thing» so we opted not to leave, and I was still blinded by my own excitement thinking there had to without a doubt be something so amazing on the other side that made it worth it. Spoiler, there wasn’t. Being seated didn’t mean now our experience was going to get any easier. We had to flag people down(different people, because they’re one of those places that doesn’t seem to have a set person for each table its just like, whoevers in the area I guess) for drinks and refills and basically do whatever we could to get whoever our waitstaff was to acknowledge our desire to be there for our half of the dining experience. Instead, I observed staff doing sidework, putting pastries away etc. as early as 9 o clock. In my restaurant experience, we didn’t start that while there were still patrons(some fighting to get any semblance of service) still there. In all this, it’s so hard to even remember why we were there in the first place. The food, which was edible, was completely unmemorable. I got the dish with faux meatloaf and my mom had a thai salad type thing. Overall, dull and unmemorable. At the end of the night my mom started to try to complain to the waitstaff about our experience but I quickly ushered her out because I think the only thing that could have made this night worse is watching my wiry italian mother try to tear into some too-cool-to-care waitress in a place that at the end of the night I still have to live. A year later, this still stands out to me because it was such a disappointing way to introduce my mom to Portland(though, in many ways, it might be very accurate) If you enjoy overhyped food, ungracious staff, and lots of waiting, you’re probably a lot like my dumb friends who thinks this place is the greatest.

VEGAN !!! WOOOOOTWOOOT!!! ONEHUNDREDPERCENTPLANTBASED!!! It was my birthday and I wanted vegan, cause I’m vegan. ‘Cause it was a long holiday season and I don’t have many vegan friends. Mostly, I hang with Omnivores. I dig Omnivores. My peeps were ever so kind to join me for a herbivore birthday meal. They loved it. I loved it. This place rocks. Elegant design and interior. Superior staff. I think our server was Caći. Forgive my spelling. She was lovely to us. I think we were the only reservation on their Tuesday night list. They were ready for us. It was a great table against the wall and under a great mirror. I sat facing the mirror and was able to face my friends and still see the restaurant. I will totally be back. I’m totally grateful to be able to order everything on a menu. The only less than fabulous aspect was the bathroom. It’s shared with neighboring businesses and smells like urine. No Bueno. The elegant restaurant experience is dulled by a smelly bathroom trip. namaste

Super yummy! My party tried: The cheese platter(fantastic! bravo!) Potatoes(yummy finger food, great sauce) A tropical smoothie(to live for! vibrant, bright flavors, perfect) Bibimbap(sp?) AMAZING!!! Ginger noodle bowl(okay, nothing special) Chocolate cake(yes!) Fudge carmel truffles(yes yes yes!) The cheese platter and the Bibimbap were my favorite! Flavors abound! Super nourishing. Our cake was complimentary because it was a mangled last piece — no complaints. it was free and delicious! The carmel truffles were excellent. What a treat! Overall it’s a trendy fine dining but also casual atmosphere, the staff are cheerful and kind, the food was super duper quality and healthy and amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Worst service I’ve gotten in Portland. The staff seemed like they wanted to stand in a crowd and chat. They didn’t talk to us when we arrived, took 15 minutes to bring menus, I had to ask 3 times for coffee. My friend got a juice that literally tasted like a garden smells. Which is a little too much like dirt for my taste. Our live nachos were amazing, and the scramble was good. But I left feeling very sick. Won’t be going back, mostly because of the offensive service.

Unfortunately, the food at Blossoming Lotus didn’t quite blow us away. Since we were visiting Portland for the first time, we figured we would check out the vegan scene. Maybe veganism just isn’t for me, but I didn’t really enjoy my dinner. Started out with the Thai salad, which was quite good. Our main courses, however, were a different story. For one thing, while the first few bites of my cheeseburger were delicious, the flavors grew duller with each bite. The burger taste ended up relying on the condiments over the actual taste of the patty. The udon noodle stir fry was almost inedible due to the overwhelming thickness of the noodles in an uninspired broth. I would give this place a 2.5 stars for food, but I’m bumping up the rating for the interior, the service and the salad.

OMG the breakfast Benedict are amazing. I’m a vegan and it’s damn hard to find such a good Benedicts. The sauce on it is like Jesus juice and those freaking bloody Mary’s tho. Holy hell. Spicy, salty, strong. One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve ever been to

Most of the time, I find myself here for brunch. Their fresh cinnamon rolls are out of control(big enough for 4 people) and the menu is great. I’ve tried sweet and savory items and they’ve always been really delicious. I especially love the breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy. My only tip — come early! This place can get packed quick and the waiting time is torture. Ok, maybe that’s just me being dramatic. I really love brunch, guys.

Insanely delicious — seriously, this place is absolutely incredible. Particularly their brunch! 100% vegan, lovely cocktails and a great beer & wine list! My favorite meals here: Monte Cristo(available weekend brunch only), «Eggs» Benedict, the breakfast burrito and a bimimbap bowl(lunch menu). Deep flavors, amazing cashew cream, gluten-free vegan biscuits and plenty of vegan raw options. Also, this is actually a quite nice place to spend time in. The décor is beautiful, it’s a clean place and a good location. Oddly rare for vegan restaurants, so this place is truly a gem!

Get reservations to Blossoming Lotus now! Probably one of the best meals I had in Portland. Delicious«cheeseburger» with a side of tempeh. My husband, who is a hardcore meat eater, actually loved the burger! They have so much flavor, variety, and creativity with their all vegan menu; we were seriously impressed. From pastas, burgers, to asian fusion dishes and bbq bowls, it really was a treat. Try the soy curls and tempeh. Really! You won’t regret these delectable snacks. Lines can be long because this place was poppin’. I’d definitely make a reservation next time.

I am not a vegetarian nor am I vegan but I actually really enjoyed Blossoming Lotus. There wasn’t a wait when we went for lunch on a Monday around 1:30pm. As soon as I sat down, the waitress came by to take drink orders and asked if we were ready. I needed a couple minutes to decide because given the options of barbecue or vegan food – my mind was still lingering on brisket and burnt ends. Since I had a lot of pork the day before, something healthier was the better option. We ordered the Live Nacho to share and I settled on the Thai Wrap with avocado. The Live Nacho consisted of spicy live chips topped with nacho cheese sauce, pecan chorizo, avocado, cashew sour cream, red onion, tomato, scallion, cilantro, and a lime wedge. It was interesting, the«chips» were dense and it did have a reminiscing flavor of nachos. My Thai Wrap was amazing! The tortilla was crispy and soft – really good grilled texture, the barbecue flavor soy curls made me forget I wasn’t eating meat, and very fresh. Peanut sauce makes everything better, it just had a great combination of flavors. The portions are huge! I was full after 1.5 pieces of the live nacho chips and half the wrap. I had enough leftover for dinner. My friend had the Green Bowl, which had super greens, quinoa, steamed kale layered with beet vinaigrette, lemon tahini, cucumber, edamame, avocado, and sesame seeds. He added tempeh… yuck, I could eat tofu all day, every day but never liked tempeh. About a third of the way through his bowl, he found a long strand of hair buried in his bowl and we appreciated how they remedied the situation. The waitress offered to remake the bowl or he could have something else. At that point, he was already full and ended up swapping it out for a Thai Wrap to-go. Thank you for being accommodating. Since I had lunch at Blossoming Lotus and ate leftover for dinner, it was a meatless Monday for me and felt good about being healthy. Delicious food and great service.

Not impressed. Ordered the pesto macaroni. Edible but too heavy for my taste. Didn’t taste like pesto. The samosas(NOT worth $ 16, What the f*ck were they thinking.) were terrible. Thai taco tasted okay but was just a mess to eat. The raw chorizo taco was just… bad. This place serves Asian-inspired dishes such as bibimbap, udon noodle stir fry, maki rolls, etc. but they are FAR from the original concepts. By all means, come here if you want to eat vegan food, but there are better establishments you could patron.
