One word… Excellent! My husband took the Family to the River this weekend. We stopped for ice at this country market for ice and snacks when I noticed this bbq cart in the parking lot. I have a weekness for bbq, but since leaving CA last fall, I haven’t found anything worth eating twice in or around Portland. This very polite and somewhat unassuming man was manning the cart. I ordered a 5 dollar bbq pork sandwich and one rib. When I noticed that the ribs were smoked with a rub, I ordered 3 more. What was most appealing is that all of the sauce was on the side. Because he had several varieties, we were all able to get exactly what we wanted, Habanero, Sweet and Sweet and Spicy. Bye-the-way, they are EXCELLENT without the sauce.

Here’s the deal, I could make you blush if I truly expressed the feelings I have for barbecue, specifically the almighty pulled pork sandwich– no shit. That being said, when a barbecue CART opened just up the way from my office, I was excited. So, my co-workers and I decided to give it a shot today for lunch. Here’s the scoop: pulled pork sandwich: I’ll give it a 2.5 out of 5 piggy points, it was okay, sauce was okay, weak ass safeway bun & almost cold when I got it 5 min after being picked up Spare Ribs: 3.5 out of 5 piggy points. Super tender, pretty tasty, same okay sauce as the sandwich Coleslaw: 2 out of 5 p pts. While obviously homemade, lacking any real«special-ness». Kinda runny, had to add it to the sandwich to improve both. Potato Salad: negative 100 piggy points! What kind of jag-off gets RESER’S potato salad for their bbq cart?!? That’s what blew it for me. Call me a snob but whatever. Fresh Cornbread: ??? wouldn’t know, they were out, which is why I know about the damn potato salad. In summation, I’m sure I’ll eat here again and I apologize for the angry rant toward the end. I’m sure Ken is just trying to get on his feet and I promise to update this review if/when that happens. Side note: Ken is actually Ken Fantetti, former middle linebacker & leading tackler for the 1979 – 1987 Detriot Lions– it even says so on his to go menu. And to his credit, you can call in or even text message to go orders. Now that’s convenient, if you want middle of the road convenient BBQ.
