Friendly service and delicious food were our rewards for going out on this rainy and windy Saturday afternoon to have lunch at Beau Thai. We started with salad rolls with shrimp as an appetizer and were pleased with the freshness of the ingredients. Pad Thai and yellow curry were our entrees. The pad Thai was tasty and well prepared with the noodles cooked just right(not all stuck together) and the vegetables were crisp. The yellow curry was flavorful, but the sauce was too thin and watery for my tastes. It was more like soup. I’ve always preferred curry that has a thicker consistency so that it sticks to the rice instead of just draining straight to the bottom of my plate. However, it tasted really good and that’s most important. Overall, my friends and I really enjoyed the flavors of everything we ordered. This was a great lunch.

Ordered the yellow curry and it was delicious. Was pleased to find it full of veggies and full of great flavor.

The service here was horrible. Got my order wrong. Forgets to fill our water. The worst part is the lack of service recovery. Will never come back.

Really love this place — authentic Thai and great service. It’s become our neighborhood go to and always delivers great Thai food(to our spicy delight) either for a quick take out and dinner! Personal favs — pumpkin curry, pad prik khing(green beans), and also(tip!) you can order a side of Thai-style fried egg also. Will be back again soon!

Their food is delicious and their staff is always so kind. We usually will order some food for pick up and they will have it ready in 15 minutes or less. A great neighborhood restaurant, happy to make us dinner when we are too exhausted. ;)

Average… which is weird in Portland. We were there for lunch and got the Pad Thai and the Pad Se ew. Both items were pretty spicy at a 3 or medium spice but not impossible to eat. I was really looking for the sweet and salty blend in the Pad Se Ew and also for that wonderful chargrilled flavor that you normally have. It was very very salty. Limited veggies and the chicken was extremely dry for that kind of saucy dish. Service was friendly, but poor. There were only 3 tables at lunch, and a few people waited for a bit and left because the host was no where to be seen. We will try Beau Thai in a few months again and see if anything has changed.

My hubby and I have been coming here for years! We love it! Delicious food(peanut chicken and pineapple fried rice are our faces), great service and quiet ambiance make it worth the drive from the east side. Highly recommend it!!!

Called in for take-out order of papaya salad and drunken noodles. My goodies were safely packed and secured, and the drunken noodles were tasty and had plenty of veggies and beef. It was kind of sad to see the place absolutely empty on a Saturday night because I think they’re a great neighborhood joint. I also prefer their Pad Thai compared to other, more popular places in Portland b/c Beau Thai doesn’t overdo it on the sweetness. I shouldn’t have to feel like I get my entrée and dessert in one dish, people!

If you dine in, you can usually expect to be one of the few people there. Don’t let the emptiness throw you though, the food is tasty, with plenty of vegan, meat, and seafood options. The staff is so nice and attentive. Entertaining music, too. I like to support them!

Fairly average food. You won’t be blown away or disappointed. A solid C+. Service was a little slow

This place is bangin’! They have such a wide variety of vegan options, and all of them are delicious. I’ve never had a meal here that I didn’t like, and the staff is super friendly. I typically see more sit down business at lunch, then a ridiculous amount of take out at night. Definitely would recommend/bring friends here.

Excellent service and exceptional food. I come regularly for the Sen Yai Tom Yum. Its a big bowl with lits of goodies and wide flat rice noodles. I always leave feeling better than when I entered. Also a great spot for vegetarians. Most places can substitute Tofu, but Beau Thai gives the option of veggies, tofu, or house made tempeh. The tempeh is a great texture if you like your meat subs to have a little more chew to them. I recommend getting a thai iced tea with coconut nilk. They use a special thick version thay looks like snow on top. Its like drinking candy.

Wow what a disappointment we have been coming here multiple times over the last several years and I’ve always had great meals but it appears that the service and the food quality has gone down significantly we ordered the curry with red bell peppers only my wife is allergic to green the curry came out full of green bell peppers we returned the dish and asked to make it right, they took the dish away and within three minutes a new curry dish came out I asked how can that be they said oh we just took someone who was on a to go order. looking at the curry dish it now had no red peppers in it. Asked where the red peppers were and they said oh were out of red peppers, I said thank you very much returned the dish paid for appetizer and went to another restaurant. Its unfortunate that they can’t get their act together we wont be back There was only one other person in the restaurant at 6PM

I’m surprised that there are so many positive reviews. The hostess/waitress was very sweet and helpful. The food was okay and the prices were good. I ordered the Pad Thai, which had little to no flavor but was decent. My friend had asked for a little more sauce because her noodles were a little dry. The chef came out and was, in my opinion very rude and in your face. My friend was not complaining, but very politely asking for some sauce. I would not go back because of the service we received from the chef.

I love love love love the food here with an exclamation point and this place deserve a medal and 5 star. I have been eating here for over 8 years and it along with Baan Thai near PSU are my top 2 favorite thai restaurants. I always come here for pad thai and pineapple fried rice, sometimes I will get the tom yum and curry but those are the 2 dishes that I get everytime. It taste just right and delicious everytime, I always order it mild and add chili powder to adjust the spicy level to my taste. I love the owner she is so nice and friendly just like my mother, and sometimes she gives me appetizers or drinks as bonuses which I really appreciate. I refer all my friends and family here for a reason because the food is great, the service is awesome and an enjoyable experience everytime. Highly recommended.

Excellent service. But the food isn’t quite«awesome» as comparable to other thai restaurants in downtown portland. I ordered the pad thai with shrimp which had a fine presentation and had a good amount of pad thai sauce cooked in, but it was bland and the noodles were overcooked. So Unilocalers, all this isn’t a bad place to go for lunch but not the best either.

When I worked in Northwest Portland I used to eat lunch here at least twice a week. And I loved it! It was a short walk from my place of work and they never rushed you to leave. It was the perfect place to have lunch and a business meeting. More importantly it’s just across the street from city market northwest and I could run across the street grab what I needed for home and go back to work. Anyhow I digress– I took my family here and was very excited about sharing with them this little cute Thai place from years gone by. One of the first things we noticed when we walked in with the smell of dirty fryer grease. That wasn’t appetizing at all. We ordered our usual standard fare for lunch as we are creatures of habit and typically order the same kinds of things in Thai restaurants because we know what we like. Can’t go wrong there. I can’t quite put my finger on it but things just were not up to par. They weren’t as I remember them, Some of the sauces were down right watery, And anything that we ordered that was fried you could taste the old grease. Note that sucked. This place would’ve got a negative star however the service was amazing. That part hasn’t changed. Our server was kind, delightful and just a joy to be around. We of course left her a very very nice tip. It’s not her fault the grease is dirty, or the food is in up to par. Well I be back? I honestly am not sure. I truly believe that the good old days for this place are days gone bye. :(
