I have been in a number of times for a glass of wine. The ambiance is really good for a date or an intimategroup of friends. It is not a large place so get there early for tastings or live music which happen often. Pretty neat that for tastings part of the tasting fee goes toward any bottle that you purchase.

We live in the neighborhood and like to stop into Barile for a beer or glass of wine. The weekends are always nice cause they have live music and they are never overly loud so you can still have a conversation. Very good selections of wine and rotating beer/ciders. Very clean and the service is excellent. Tim the owner is a great guy. Very knowledgable about the wines and beer he is pouring and friendly. Excellent wine bar with a little something extra.

I’ve been meaning to update this review for some time. I live in the neighborhood and we frequent Barile. Tim, the owner, is always friendly and ready with a suggestion for a new wine to try. We’ve seen several of the bands that perform here on weekends and they never disappoint. But my new favorite thing about this bar is Trivia night on Wednesdays! Its a much more intimate atmosphere than any of the other bars where we’ve played trivia — allowing for friendly and good spirited banter between teams.

Great atmosphere, good music, yummy foods. Tim is always helpful with a suggestion for your selection which is great for someone like me who doesn’t know much about wine. Debbie selects and rotates local artists in the space which is wonderfully supportive and makes the space ever changing. A good place to go and hang out with friends, enjoy live music and talk. Bust out the laptop, sketch or play a few games they have sitting on the shelf but whatever you do, order the Italian Panini: for some reason the pairing of that particular panini and their arugala salad is awesomesauce! Then if you still have room get the Baked Brie!

The average 4.5 star rating here seems overly generous. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and the proprietor was very nice and attentive but the food just isn’t very good… it’s passable but unsophisticated and unremarkable. The bruschetta with fig jam was delicious but we also ordered the antipasti plate, salad and the Brie and prosciutto panini… all of which were disappointing. The panini was especially lackluster — it had very little filling, needed some additional ingredient to add moisture to the filling, and wasn’t crispy at all. It was like someone just squished two pieces of dry toast together. Really wanted to like this place as it is very convenient but definitely won’t go back… just not worth the time or money.

our friend was performing in the band ojos feos, so we went for a drink and ate some food. very woody and relaxing. the server started us with a cote du rahone wine, and i had a everybody’s logger lager. both were excellent. foodwise, we began with the large mixed green salad with arugala, assorted greens, apple, cranberries, pecans, bleu cheese, and a tasty light vinegarette. next we had the white bean dip with crostini. then we continued with the cheese panini, with an arulgala side salad. next was the baguette, melted brie/amaretto sauce, and apple, the food was so delicious. for dessert, the black port was fine, as was the tawny. the server brought a free taste of the ruby port. yum. the server was very friendly and efficient, working a crowded room. we wil return. the band was fine.

The wine selection is succinct(i.e. not too overwhelming), and I can personally vouch for all of the whites — they’re excellent. An unassuming, cozy atmosphere, and comfortable seating paired with tasty wines, wonderful appetizers and panini sandwiches equals the ideal wine bar. They need a bigger sign outside so you don’t miss it!

I went on a Friday night and loved the place. The atmosphere is quiet, dark, comfy and sorta like home. Loved the food, although a bigger selection on the menu would be great. Music was good and great that there is no extra charge for the music. Definitely am a fan!

All I want is food and creative love… doused in red wine. I am in complete lust with robust, full-bodied, spicy red wines. It’s the fastest way to turn my frown upside down. I also dig live music, and it just so happens that my friend Bill Wadhams plays Barile often, which tickles me down to my toes because I get to listen to some groovy tunes and drink nectar of the Gods. Yay! Barile is a nice lil place with lots of dark wood and pleasant accents. The beer snob husband gets to come along too, for they have a small, yet diverse, tap list. The nibbles are adequate, but this is not a dinner place after all. The owner is very helpful if you tell him what varietal/characteristics you enjoy, he will steer you toward a lovely glass of vino, or bottle, or several(in my case). Salut!

Barile is a bit out of the way for me but I was excited to try a new place with so many great reviews. Thanks to Portland Perks we scored 2 $ 25 vouchers. Barile is in a great neighborhood and is warm and inviting, a great place for a date. My husband and I ordered the baked brie in amaretto(AMAZING!!!) and the bruschetta(not worth the price.) The wines were good and my husband enjoyed his beer. Kind of classy without being snooty. I was hoping for a little more customer service, the gentleman just seemed to have a lot on his mind that night. I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it but we still have 1 voucher left, so it should be interesting to try again.

I’ve been here a number of times. The owners are charming, and are knowledgeable about their wines. They always make great suggestions. They have a few sandwiches which I haven’t tried, although they look really good. I had a cheese plate with some blue and goat and a couple others which were tasty, but there was tomato bacon chutney on the plate and OMG it was sooooo good. The place itself is perfectly dimly lit and cozy, has good music but isn’t too loud. I’ve always been there with my girlfriends, but it would be a great date location! The lighting combined with the wine might work in my favor.

We’ve just come along to support a charity benefit organized by Barilé and friends. Fantastic wine selection, wonderful food, and an amazing dessert menu! We will definitely be back for more!

This place works for me. Fair priced wines that you dont see everywhere or good micro’s– whatever you feel like. The food works well with the wine and reminds me of what you get in Tuscany. The service keeps with the vibe– they answer questions but mostly stay in the background making sure you have an enjoyable night without being agressive. I agree with the other reviewer in that it never was to loud to have a conversation, so must be the way the room is built. i would recomend telling the guy what you like and letting him suggest the wine and then pair it to the food.

I love my neighborhood wine bar! Great ambiance, nice music, and the owners are super sweet and attentive. They don’t just serve wine, but you can buy a bottle to go and there is always nice local beer on tap. Pus they support local artist with work rotating frequently. I bought one of my favorite paintings there! This is a great little spot.

We are so pleased with the addition of Barile to the Beaumont Wilshire neighborhood. We’ve had a few wine bars, but this one really fits the bill. Having a good choice of beer options on tap really makes it a versatile place to start the night with friends, some who might not be wine lovers. For a small location, they have an impressive variety of wine choices. Music was playing one night we were there and I am not ypically a fan of music when I meet my friends, but somehow the acoustics allow conversation while I enjoy the music.

This is a small wine and beer bar, with bottles for sale and a small menu of paninis, salads and nibbles to keep you from drinking on an empty stomach. They are new and have potential. The small wine selection is nice, with a number of bottles for sale under $ 20. However, with a $ 20 corkage fee, there is little chance I am going to buy a bottle to drink there. Seems silly on a $ 13 bottle of wine. I like the selection of tables ranging from those that sit 2 to a large table for 10, that is rare to find. But overall the place only sits about 40 people. Which, made it a very crowded and loud environment last night with a Meet-in wine group taking over the bar. We were there to see a friend play guitar and from the table next to him could hear less than half of what he performed. The panini we had were made with good quality ingredients, but so little of them, that it was hard to taste more than the bread. A little tweaking on the menu is still needed. But they do have their bases covered with some classic choices made with just a little nicer than normal innards. At the moment, that sandwich just isn’t worth $ 9. They home make their hummus, but just because you make it from scratch, doesn’t mean you should. The flavor was too much of some things and not enough of other. I am torn because I really want to give them a 2 ½. Not a 2, not a 3, but that isn’t a choice. I won’t be in a hurry to go rushing back, but they have potential and are doing a fairly good job. The gentlemen we spoke to was very knowledgeable of his wines. However, I can’t get over the fact that he wouldn’t sell us a bottle of the red we asked for because he was worried if he did that he would run out the next day. Really? And I am trying not to judge the attitude and service from a night with an overwhelming crowd that apparently they were not expecting. It improved as the night went on. If I end up in the neighborhood, I will give them a 2nd try and update, but the fact that they have been open for 4 months and no one else has reviewed them may be telling.
