Loveeeee this place! I’ve eaten many Thai food before but this just takes flavor to a whole new level! I absolutely love their Pad Thai and spicy Green Beans rice plate. Pretty good price too. Ate here all summer while taking some classes. You won’t be disappointed!

I was sad when I noticed Bonrood Thai was gone but then I decided one day to try this place.
It’s so good! Beyond good! The spice level is really great and the spices they use are tasty and meld so well, unlike other some Thai food where they end up with chunks of spice and chunks of bland. The curry is rich and flavourful and the ingredients are amazing. I work nearby and since coming here the first time have gone back on a regular basis. Not once have I ended up with fatty chicken or unwanted mushy vegetables. (I’ve also never had mushy rice!)
Like everyone else on here, the spicy basil is my favourite so far but I try to get new things each time. Really what shines the most is their curry — which you can get with pumkin, yellow, red, chicken, duck, beef… The options seem endless. Probably part of the reason the menu seems unorganized.
I really like that I can call ahead and order. They answer my call almost every time and it helps for my short 30 minute lunch. I usually save half for lunch the next day but I find it hard to do here — not because of size… Simply because I can’t stop eating!

I ordered the red curry with beef. It was very, very tasty. I’d say this cart is up there in terms of flavor with carts like Thai Pasta or (the now defunct) Suliyothai. The only complaints I have is that the cook is a little slow, menu is a little unorganized, and that ordering beef in your curry is apparently $ 1.00 extra despite not being advertised as such on the menu (I paid it anyway because I didn’t want to fight over $ 1.00). The only deal-​breaker for me is the *unadvertised* $ 1.00 extra because I can’t tell if I was just getting worked or not; $ 7.50 is a lot of money to drop on cart curry. Overall I enjoyed it though, another decent cart.

My favorite Thai Curry spot in Portland! The owner, Bam, is amazing and accommodating. The nicest guy around and he makes a delicious curry! When we park our car in that lot he always promises to «watch it and keep it safe.» Also, he’s got the cutest tagline — «Eat Curry, Be Happy!!»

Green curry was excellent, authentic and flavorful. The rice, however, was just plain sad. It was so overcooked and mushy it almost turned the whole thing into a slop. From the pictures others have put up I can see that this may not be the usual, so I’ll give them another try. Just definitely not at peak lunch hour, because I waited about 15 minutes longer than the time she quoted. If I have a better experience next time I will update my review.

Wow! Really good. I ate here 3 times during my week long Portland trip. Partially because I love Thai food, and also because it was one of the closest things open near my hotel after work. Most of the food carts close early, and of the options, this place hit the spot every time. I got the Spicy Basil, Panang curry and the Pad Khi Mao (sp? It was a noodle dish that was not pad thai). I think the noodle dish was my personal favorite, but they were all very good and flavorful.

Today was my first visit. I ordered the Spicy Basil with Chicken. I was not disappointed. The veggies were fresh and crisp, the chicken was tender, and it had just the right amount of spice. I should have saved some for dinner but I couldn’t stop eating it. I will definitely go back.

I have been living in downtown portland for 7 years and have frequented many food cart pods. I am a huge fan of curry, eating it for lunch almost every weekday. Hands down the best curry I have had in Portland is at the bangcock curry co. Bam, the chef, is an expert. There are unbelievable food art photos all over the cart. This is a real authentic food cart. My favorite is the duck curry which has a mixture of fruit veggies roasted duck and curry sauce. I eat here almost daily and recommend it to any one who enjoys authentic delicious cuisine that takes only a minute or two to whip together.

I have been here 5 – 6 times for lunch, and am consistently impressed with how quickly they can make me a zesty dish. Located around the corner of the parking lot, it’s usually not as busy as the other curry/​asian places, but I prefer this place over them for the taste, price, promptness, English, and quality.
Today I saw one of the owners chopping fresh chillies outside and began a conversation. He told me how he makes all his curries fresh and that he chops chillies daily and how they used to have a restaurant but are trying something new. I was impressed with his English.
I have ordered the pad thai twice, the roasted duck curry twice (I did this time), and the no name (it’s an eggplant dish with no name and it’s called no name) the other time I’ve been here.
The roasted duck curry is my favorite but I have to try their other stuff next time too.

OMG it is so good! I have had red, yellow, and pumpkin curries. I have had their stir fry. I go there once a week now for my curry fix. None of the other food carts compare with the flavor, or texture. The owner is a lot of fun to converse with and soon you feel like a long lost relative. The fact that they are open an hour or so past their posted closing time is a big plus for me. Bam mixes his own hot sauce and you should ask for it special.

I had walked past this cart many times, so I finally decided to try it. I must say that I wasn’t impressed. I got the Pineapple Ginger and it was just ok. Everything about it was very bland and not all that flavorful. From the sounds of the other reviews it sounds like I should try one of their curries. I’ll give it another shot and see.

I’d walked by this new cart before, but I’d never stopped by until my boyfriend brought leftovers home.
OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD.
It was the Spicy Basil, with succulent chicken, fresh basil, and a sweet-​savory sauce, served over rice. I have also tried the Pumpkin curry, which was the best pumpkin curry I’ve ever had (no joke!) – delicious coconut-​based curry with a lil kick, soft, sweet pumpkin, and big pieces of chicken.
On top of the delicious food, as if that wasn’t enough, the proprietor is perhaps the nicest man in the world. The counter has his hand-​carved fruit creations and the door of the cart is full of articles in Thai. If the menu confuses you, or you’re not sure what you want, he is happy to offer recommendations.
All in all, this is going to be a new favorite haunt, and it should be one of yours, too!

Overall this Thai restaurant was overall awesome! Definitely worth stopping by if your in the area! :D

Bangkok Curry is a new Thai food cart in the same cart in the same location as the now defunct Boonrod Thai. Despite some strange traits of the business, I had a generally good experience my first time here.
Unlike every other food cart that I have been to, customers do not place their orders with a person inside the cart. Instead, they have an employee standing out front who takes order and relays them to the chef. I honestly have no idea why they do this, but they do.
The menu is completely out of order and unorganized. Don’t let that overwhelm you. Take your time and pick something that you like. I recommend their Panang Curry, but I’ve also heard good things about the roasted duck.
I’m not going to say this cart is a great addition to the area. I mean, there are literally four other Thai food carts on the same block. But they put a unique spin on their service. I’ll probably be back to try more of the interesting items on their menu.

Good place for Thai food, everything in here is so good. Definitely worth a try. The Panang Curry and the Red Curry are so good, not to mention the Roasted Duck as well. Five stars.
