Okay, cannoli. Seriously, can I just say cannoli? Will this review be more powerful if I just say cannoli and stop? Because honestly, HONESTLY, sooooo good!

Very nice people and a good place to go for lunch. Not many seats and everyone is sitting pretty close to each other. I had the Meatball Sandwich and it was good, not great. I think I try the Italian next time. The one I saw looked very good. I will go back to try other items on the menu and to try another flavor of gelato. YUMMM…

Delicious! We had the meatball sub and prosciutto panini for lunch. The owners are super nice and helpful(they’ll tell you all about the food and answer any questions you have). We ate there, but saw lots of phone orders and take out.

I found this place after much searching on Unilocal. If I look under Italian Deli, it doesn’t show, but under Italian Delicatessen it does. I first came here to buy some capicola to make sandwiches at home. They have it in stock at a reasonable price, so I bought a pound. While it was being sliced, the counter person gave ame a slice to taste, now that’s good service. I came back a again to eat some of their sandwiches sitting at a table. It was everything I have expected from a good Italian sandwich. I have tried the Italian Hoagie and the Gabagool. Both excellent. The bread is good and the meat, veg and dressing is also top notch. By the way, you can get your sandwich as a panini. They also sell gelato, I have had the cherry, it was some of the best gelato I have tasted. So, if you want a great ice cream, a really good Italian sandwich, or to buy some cold cuts to take home, you can’t go wrong here. Parking can get tight, but you can park on the street.

My girlfriend and I were told about this place from the guy who makes gelato for them, so we finally had a chance to come here this past weekend. I had the Italian sausage and my girlfriend got the Italian hoagie. WOW! The ingredients were authentic and flavorful. The sausage was perfect with the grilled onions and peppers. I also tried the hoagie as well and it was delicious to say the least; the quality of the cold cuts were top notch. The staff was very friendly and we received our food pretty quickly. The dining area is very small though, so it may be tough to find a seat when it gets busy. I will definitely be returning!

Twas a rainy day, typical for a November winter day. We came in, and there were no other patrons in the establishment. This delicatessen has parking, for a few cars. We ordered the Italian hoagie and the Meatball Parmesan, and if you’re looking for a flavorful warm sandwich, the meatball is the way to go. The owner makes his own meatballs, the recipe is his grandmother’s, and the sandwich is delicious! I am not a huge fan of the dressing that accompanies the Italian hoagie, I usually never order it, because I feel like it takes away from the flavors of the salami & prosciutto. I know there are reviews that this sandwich tastes plain, and Italian sandwiches are pretty mellow in taste to begin with. Unless you order extra salami and capicola to amp up the flavors. We also ordered a cup of the Italian Wedding Soup, and it was exactly what I had hoped for on a rainy day. Delicious medley of greens, meatballs and couscous. We definitely had a casual feast laid out in front of us. To top it off, we had the cannoli, which was the icing on the cake. Delectable exterior, with a creamy center topped with pistachios. They are made to order, and are not meant to be skipped on your visit. This establishment is small with only a handful of tables, be prepared to take your meals home. Friendly and knowledgeable with great service. I will definitely be back.

Take it from me, an East Coast native: this place is excellent. The sandwiches are supple, on fresh bread with high-quality cold-cuts and fresh toppings. Friendly staff and nice décor. The space is a little cramped but they’re starting out, so they probably couldn’t afford a big rent. They appear to serve Ristretto coffee. I’ve only had one sandwich but I can’t wait to go back and try the whole menu! A fresh, crispy pickle too(not some sad, soggy thing).

This place is truly as good as it gets! These are hands down the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. It’s hard enough to find a place that makes a sandwich I really like. Bacchi’s has a handful. Honestly, I haven’t had a sandwich there that I don’t love. Not only is the quality of the ingredients top notch, but the quantity is ridiculous. They pack these sandwiches with meat. I get two meals out of their sandwiches. I also like visiting for a morning Americano and bagel. I highly recommend the meatball sandwich, the gabagool, the gabagool fredo, and especially the Italian hoagie. The staff is friendly and the service is fast(considering the quality of the food). Finally, the prices are amazing! You’ll spend less than a fast food joint and get more quality food.

The sandwiches here are amazing. I could pretty much eat a sandwich for every meal of the day so if it’s soggy or has weird bread I pretty much won’t go again, but I find myself craving a hoagie from here. It’s deeper then the norm eating areas if you don’t live out there, but totally worth it. Yes your sandwich isn’t ready as soon as your order, but I prefer that to something seeming premade and soggy any day. The owner is super nice, and talking to him about east coast sandwiches the first time I came in helped me get hooked on top of how good it was.

Sandwich and cappuccino goodness! No idea why I have waited so long to stop in, but now that I know, I will be back! Muffuletta was good, maybe a little more oil next time, the kid got the Italian hoagie, also delicious, both came with chips and a pickle. Cappuccinos were smooth and rich… Next time gelato! I love neighborhood businesses!

I like this place so far! Really yummy cannoli. Nice effort. I would like to see some citron added, or a touch more shaved chocolate. Good coffee. Well constructed grinders. Cut on one side, so the oil doesn’t drop all over. The Gabagool very, very tasty — excellent prosciutto, and capicola. This is a nice lunch spot — stop here. Mark is a right friendly chap

I’m thoroughly impressed by the freshness of the food here. It really is a true and authentic Italian deli. Everything is made to order. Prices are reasonable. Plus, nothing beats the gorgeous cannoli that reminds you of being in Italy.

I like nearby Ira’s Deli much better. At Bacchi’s, the sandwiches are small for the price, and the bread was pretty tough. The proprietor is a really friendly guy though, so it’s a fine place to have a cup of coffee and chat.

I decided to check out this place for lunch. The deli is pretty small inside but they make great use of their space. I ordered the Italian Hoogie Sandwich, I really liked this sandwich due to the fact it was NOT over salted(seems to be my biggest issue with other shops) the dressing that they put inside the sandwich is more on the balsamic side of dressings, and it really adds to a already full flavored Italian Sub. You get a bag of chips with every sandwich! Yes, I had to have the Cannoli. Ever since Di Prima Dolce closed,(they had the best in town). I would say this place now gets crowned as the best. This customer friendly business holds up to some of the best Sandwich places in Portland. Such as, Shut up and Eat, Lardo and Bunk. The prices for what you get, I thought were pretty fair considering the quality of the product. Some outdoor seating is available and take out is a great option.(pick up a sandwich, pop open a cold one and take a selfie of yourself smiling. Ha-ha.) Can’t wait to come back and try something new.

Landed in Portland and was craving a sandwich. Hoped on Unilocal and discovered this spot. They offer a prefixed menu of breakfast and lunch deli items very European inspired. Ordered the Reuben and gabagool an split them with my sister in law. We both decided that yes, the sandwiches were good, but they both needed a little more dressing. The meat, cheese and bread offered great quality, but just needed a little more sauce flavoring. I also ordered a drip coffee and it was perfect!

Well crafted sandwich with quality ingredients. I really loved my Gabagool Fredo sandwich! Really quality products used, delicious meats! The use a panini press so it comes out nice and warm with a little crust and melty cheese. Can’t go wrong. It comes with a spear of dill pickles and a bag of chips. The wait can be a little daunting. I think we waited maybe 20 mins for our sandwiches. I recommend calling it in. That’s definitely what we’ll do next time.

Sue and I came here over the weekend. It had been a while since we made it over. The sandwich was good as usual, but this time we ordered a cannoli as well. Probably the best cannoli I have had so far in Portland. The best part is that they don’t fill it until you order it. That is key.

I’m not certain how hot capicola became my favorite lunch meat, but it did many years ago. I am certain that it is not readily available, because I rarely see it offered. The hot Gabagool sandwich at Bacchi’s is filled with hot capicola, proscuitto, provolone, hot cherry peppers and the special gabagool sauce which the owner invented. It is more than delicious. It is incredible. Who would figure to find such a wonderful sandwich(and great homemade soups) on Sandy Blvd. in Portland? I am grateful that I am one of the lucky ones. I only regret that I don’t live closer. Mark, the proprietor, is friendly and you can tell that he loves what he is doing, bringing a great Italian deli to Portland.

Being from the east coast and the Northeast specifically, one grows up with certain amenities. Italian delis are one of those. When I moved to Texas, it took several years before I found an old school Italian deli, and it has been around for over 40 years in Dallas. Now that I live in Portland, I figured I wasn’t going to find such a place and then by random chance, I found Bacchi’s. This is just a sandwich shop, so you’re not going to find off brands of pasta or large tins of imported olive oil or meats hanging from the rafters. What you will find are folks from south Jersey/Philly area who moved to this area and opened up a pretty good place to get a great sandwich that is actually a sandwich. For those from the northeast, they do have Tastykakes! The sandwiches are the star here and the Thumann’s meats are also an east coast thing and makes it that much better. Italian hoagies, the Gabagool were where my interests went to. Capicola, prosciutto, provolone, hot peppers and Gabagool sauce. Essentially and oil and vinegar based sauce. So good. They have hot subs and even muffulettas plus canollis if you have the room. Do get over to Bacchi’s, talk to some Eagles football, talk cheesesteaks and talk Italian food. Enjoy.

This little deli is more than worth the stop. Great food as well as the service. I’ll be back that is for sure. Cute inside, take a load off and just enjoy yourself and eat here.
