Such great service and very knowledgeable! I always enjoy my visit to Babette. The sizing and styles of the clothing is remarkably flattering on seemingly every body shape! The clothing really is an investment in the way that over time it has shown to be long lasting and in like new condition years later. I love that the studio/hand done pleating is done in CA! Still feels like I’m shopping local. Thank you ladies for your excellent service!

Look, no one dresses up in Portland, so this place should be used to women wearing yoga clothes when they shop. Yet I got the hair eyeball from the sales person, who followed me around like she thought I was going to steal something. The clothes are fine but for a far better experience including friendlier sales staff and much better clothes, try Garnish or Physical Element.

The clothing is mostly beautiful but Babette has a ridiculous no-returns policy; you have to take something«on approval»(they take your credit card’s imprint but don’t run it through) and rush it back within 24 hours if it doesn’t go with the rest of what you were planning on wearing. Or if you change your mind! Or worse, they will actually encourage you to bring in the things you’re hoping to pair with their item and try it all on there. I don’t have the time or the patience for this type of shopping, do you?

While I’d like to keep this amazing women’s clothing store all to myself, I also want to share it. I love the clothing, creative and well made, with unusual fabrics and patterns. The staff, Kathy and Pam and people I am forgetting to name, are not only friendly and knowledgeable(often wearing pieces from the collection), but go beyond this with a personal interest in YOU. In helping you find the right coat or pants, in offering suggestions, calling other stores when the right size is not in stock. You want to return just to renew the friendship! Not cheap, but with wonderful 50% off sales. I’d go broke if I lived in Portland, though it makes me want to visit more often. Go Babette!
