I don’t review much on Unilocal as I’ve worked in the food and service industry for many years, but felt the need to review B2 coffee in hopes the owner reads it and makes some changes to save their business. The two stars are for service and the food I’ve had there; really good GF breakfast sandwiches. My office just moved near by and we all thought it was great to have a café so close. First off, they’re super inconsistent, like gluten free bread one day and none two days later. thats super infuriating and the sign of a incompetent or inexperienced owner. Secondly, they have no phone number to call!!! What business open to the public doesn’t have a phone number?! Especially if they have inconsistent product, it would be nice to call ahead of time to see if they’re carrying GF bread or those delicious egg tarts before making the trip. I must say the girls working there on Wednesday are incredibly nice and provide great service; she’s gone above and beyond in my moments of frustration with operations of that place. The guy is nice too, but sometimes way to chatty for people that have to get back to their jobs. You can tell the staff are fairly helpless when it comes to making decisions about what inventory they have, and while they never diss or talk bad about their boss/the owner its quite clear they understand why people are frustrated. Owner, get a phone line and have some consistency in the products you carry. Would you want to make trips to a place to get something only to find out they don’t have it that day? My entire office stopped going there for these reasons. In fact, my boss straight up said«that place is terrible and I refuse to go there when I have good coffee and the consistency of Sniff.» Please, take a lesson and clean up your act or you won’t have the place for long. Short cuts get you know where. Thank you.

I don’t like giving low reviews to people who are trying to just run a business, but this place doesn’t really do it for me. The coffee is just… normal, nothing special, and they don’t even have much food or whatever to balance it out. Honestly, you are in NW Portland, with dozens of places that serve AMAZING coffee — like, some of the best in the country… why would you go here?

I finally had a chance to come check out the new coffee shop. This place has a comfortable space with lots of natural light. Quick and friendly service, and that was the best Mexican mocha I have ever had! I am a huge fan!

This is a new finding in the NW Portland. The guy at the counter was really nice and friendly. He also spends a lot of time keeping the place clean. The food and the drink are moderately priced. I liked this place!

I really dig this place. It strikes a nice balance… It has the neighborhood feel a coffee shop should have without the pretension; you don’t need to be wearing stripes to get in the door. It also doesn’t have the homogenized feel of something like a Starbucks or Peet’s Coffee. I usually go for a pretty specific style of espresso and it has been consistent every morning I’ve been in. That said, their coffee still has character. The staff is genuinely friendly without being insincere. They don’t rush through making their drinks in order to get you out the door. They’ve also started to make their own baked goods. It’s pretty hard to say no to homemade cinnamon rolls. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s a neighborhood gem.

I live in the building and was so excited when this place opened up. I gave it a few tries before deciding that it’s just not worth it. Since they opened, over the summer, the baristas have changed at least 3 times, which I try not to judge, but it still screams poor management. Of these 3 baristas, one was extremely slow, the other was fine, and the one that is currently there is an airhead. Also, they used to offer a discount for anyone who lives in the building, which they no longer do… kind of a bad move if you ask me. You can’t offer something and then take it away without people feeling like they are being punished. The justification behind it is that their prices went down. Ok… don’t care. Prices are too high to begin with and now I have no reason to go in there at all, because the convenience factor isn’t worth the overpriced experience. On top of it, all, I ordered a bagel there, which I asked them not to toast. The guy looked at me weird when I said that, and then, once I bit into the bagel, I realized why… it was completely stale. Mind you, this was NOT one of the day old, discounted products. My boyfriend had a day old muffin, and it tasted like it was 5 days old, not just one. Gross. Bottom line, I do not recommend it. End of rant. :)

I want to love it, because it’s convenient for me, but the baristas are slow and inconsistent. Somedays my coffee is delicious and other times it tastes burnt.

Over-priced and under-friendly, for what they are offering.

I ordered an «iced coffee with sugar-free vanilla syrup.» I received 2 shots of espresso over ice, sugar-free vanilla syrup and the rest filled with(whole) milk. I have no idea what the barista was thinking, since I said nothing about espresso or milk. It didn’t seem like she even listened to my order.
