I had never played the mandolin before, and I wasn’t sure where to start. Luckily, I found Greg, who is very patient and knows how to make the beginner feel comfortable. He is also super nice and friendly. I definitely recommend him as a teacher, especially if you’re picking up your instrument for the first time!

I started violin lessons with Greg when I was 24, having only a mixed background of middle-school band dropout and attempts at self-teaching various instruments. What I needed was a skilled and insightful instructor who could see potential in me even when I didn’t know it was there, and Greg was the person. He quickly appreciated the progress I had made on my own, and provided specific, concrete lessons for my improvement. Greg offered an excellent balance of playing and theory. He always had an in-depth answer for my persistent«whys?». However, for someone not as keen on theory as me, his music lessons can certainly stand alone. It’s always great to have someone like Greg who can teach music from multiple angles. After studying with Greg for only a year, I couldn’t believe the progress I had made. The path was very student defined, with Greg directing at critical junctures. He very much accurately interpreted my interests and introduced new pieces and exercises accordingly. Our work together has provided my grounded understanding of violin, and it has also opened the door for other instruments. Very reasonable rates for the quality of the instruction I received! Thanks!

Greg is a truly incredible musician and teacher. Prior to my acceptance at Berklee College of Music, he taught me the fundamental jazz theory techniques I had never been exposed to as a classical musician. Furthermore, he was super flexible in scheduling and always able to meet my busy schedule. I highly recommend him as a private instructor and as a great person!
