My husband and I were in town for 4 days, we ate at Jalisco’s three times in four days because it was soooo good. I tried all of the tacos, the shrimp tacos and fish tacos were amazing, my husband loved the carne asada tacos, definitely recommend this place

This is one of my favorite places to get dinner. The sea food options are my favorite. The shrimp cocktail is always one of my top choices, they actually give you enough shrimp unlike other places. The ambience is really nice as well on weekends they normally have a mariachis singing. They also have good drinks, the Piña colada is my favorite.

This is a decent place. I like the tostada de camarón. I think it is a little pricy. Staff is also nice.

Best caldo de albondigas I’ve had in a long time. We try coming here every Friday to enjoy the music while we eat. The langosta al mojo de ajo is amazing. Service is fast, the waiters are very friendly and prices are reasonable. My first choice when I’m craving mexican seafood but too lazy to make it myself

An employee at Oxnard’s Alexander’s GMC, Cadillac & Buick asked me if I’d been to «Jalisco» Restaurant. ‘Nope’ I said. He said the Fajitas were his favorite. I took his word. Today, my wife and I went at 12n. She chose the El Rey plate. It’s a 8 oz New York steak topped with 4 decent(not jumbo) sized broasted, butterfly’d shrimp. It also came with tasty retried beans that had a hint of savory chorizo accompanied with what seemed Saffron steamed rice. A small salad sat nicely on the side too. Nice. I asked for the Carne Asada Beef Fajitas. When served, it came a-sizzling and a-huffing with such fanfare that the steam was invitingly impressive. That plate alone was a good 1lb of beef flap-meat and tossed around with what seemed 2 cups of sliced Spanish Onions, green & red/green bell peppers and slivers of green onions. Another plate had the fluffy saffron steamed rice. A nice portion of refried beans & a little salad topped with guacamole on top of a tomato slice. The service is attentive & friendly. What impressed me even more was: the photos shown on their menus are exactly what they deliver in front of you. P.S. Leave a good tip.

Food is pretty good. But pricey. Like $ 12 for a basic, medium-sized supreme burrito pricey. The service, however, isn’t that great. I sat down at a table for 10 minutes without getting so much as a hello before finally walking up to the counter and asking if I could make an order to go. Once I had placed my order, I waited patiently for 20+ minutes(at a time when the restaurant wasn’t even a third full) and also watched as a couple parties who ordered after me proceeded to receive their food before me. And my order only consisted of 2 burritos… Even then, when my order was finally ready and I was checking out, the waitress added as if in a dismissive afterthought, «You want chips?» Of course I want chips… Now that is a 1 star experience in my book, but I’ll give Lo Mejor De Jalisco the benefit of the doubt and say I just caught them on a bad day. Thus, they get 2 stars… for now.

We went to eat here about 5 months ago and the food and service were really good. This evening we went and the food was OK, service still pretty good. It might have been because we came a half hour before closing but a nice place to eat for some decent Mexican food. Prices are pretty reasonable, too!

This past weekend changed my mind completely about Jaliscos. The food was for a change on point. I got the camarones a la diabla and they were delicious. It wasn’t so crowded but the food still took a little time. The live music is okay a little annoying if they stand right next to you though. I prefer the radio and the live sport games. Good food.

My favorite place to have Albondigas soup. It’s so flavorful, I personally like to doctor it up with some lemon and tapatio. It comes with a side of tortillas. Staff is nice, I believe its family run. Nice atmosphere. Will always be back.

Ordered, the lengua in salsa verde. Very very salty. Usual rice and beans. Very slow service, not much ambiance and court yard noisy. Won’t go back

Gotta get my shrimp burrito fix when I come here. Big shrimps, rice, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and I ask for light on the tartar sauce. You can have it served wet, but I prefer dry. Their mild sauce is spicy enough for me. Fajitas are another great dish to try. The décor is nice and place is always clean. Run by family and they treat you as such. .

Long, so bare with me :) I used to come here alot. I thought the food was very good for the price and always considered the service to be on point. Well, Its been months since i’ve been here, maybe 4 – 5 months and i’m not sure what has happened to this place. I have always dined in but the last two times, I went in to order and another I called in an order. I do not think I will be coming back anymore, for the following reasons: First bad experience is at the pick up counter. If you want to place an order to go, be prepared to wait for about 10 minutes before you’re acknowledged. I find myself just standing there, looking at everyone behind the counter and I think to myself«am I like invisible to these people» Totally ignored for about 10 minutes. Second bad expereience is again at the pick up counter but this time its when I call in for an order to be picked up. Again, I find myself waiting at the counter between 5 – 10 minutes, just standing there watching the employees walk by or stand behind the counter. I can clearly see my food just sitting there in its bag, watching it get cold as i’m trying get the attention of a worker so I can pay and leave. Before I go into the third bad experience and this is the main reason why I feel I no longer will come here, let me remind you there are about 20 other mexican restaurants in 1 square mile radius of this place. Some are on par and others are actually better. Third experience I had which I did not like is all of a sudden, this place became a little too pricey for what it is. I went in to order a taco plate and a burrito. Their taco plate consts of 3 tacos, rice and beans. I remember a few months back they used to be $ 8 about $ 1-$ 2 more expensive than the majority of other mexican restaurants which I didnt mind considering their tacos were completely loaded with meat! Good proportions and overall satisfactory! NOW their taco plate costs $ 10.50. Which is about $ 3-$ 4 more expensive than everywhere else! This is not a 5 Star mexican restaurant. Food does not taste at all that great to even consider a higher price. The Burrito, which is actually the smallest burrito i have had out of every mexican restaurant I have been too, out of every taco truck I have been to. Their burritos are small and they cost $ 9! Average price of a burrtio is between $ 5-$ 6. Sometimes $ 6.50 but $ 9 for a small burrito? I can eat two of them, thats how small they are. I’m not cheap, i’v spent $ 100s on food before, I eat sushi on the regular which you know, can get expensive. I have no problem paying for pricey food only as long as it is worth it. The main reason why I even bothered coming here in the first place is because it is right around the corner from where I live. Yes this place is nice, they have a little mariachi band the plays on the weekends. They’re table side customer service is great! BUT their prices have gone up! If their food was the best in oxnard, I would have no problem paying and eating here on the daily but its not. Their food is not at all worth their price. One other thing to add which might not be a big deal to some is Their Oysters, i’m not sure if they are frozen or fresh. They might be fresh but they must throw them on a bucket of ice and they freeze up because, those suckers were just solid, not hard but solid and after consuming 2 or 3 it felt like I had rocks in my stomach. Anyways, Table side customer service is great. Complimentary chips and salsa is great. The food«was» great for their old prices back then but now, I dont think so. You have las brisas, el chilito, Mariscos el Pulpo, Taqueria Hernandez, and Yolandas(which also sucks) all down the street from one another which are all on par with this place at a less expensive cost(besides Yolandas). El pescador in Santa Paula blows this place away for sure. I highly recommend! I travel over there to eat every once in a while when i’m feeling fancy… with my gas tank but definitely worth the drive: P

I just ate there last night and I would say overall, the food is pretty good, but what makes this place great is the seafood served with Mexican flavor. The fish that was ordered came out whole and was season perfectly without taking the natural taste away from the fish. The atmosphere is laid back, the place is clean, and the staff are friendly.

I have been here a couple of times through out the years. The ambiance is not so good, maybe do to the location and setting of tables. Also, not much of alcoholic beverages to choose from. However, the food is good and the prices are low. With a group or just 2, the final amount always reasonable. My latest order, chilaquiles was the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the Burrito Tonaya and it was so good. The bacon in the burrito was just how we like it. Fully cooked and crunchy. Would highly recommend, especially if your in a group and your picking up the check ;-)
