My boyfriend and I ordered a ginger beer, the spicy popcorn, the Cuban sandwich, and I believe what was called the BLT(I’m second guessing myself because it was too good to be a regular BLT). The spicy popcorn was surprisingly delicious — I had low expectations for a popcorn dish and def gave my boyfriend the side eye for surprise ordering it without our usual consensus… until I tried it. The best way I can think of to describe it is that it was kind of like curry flavored popcorn except with more flavor variety and an extra but not overpowering spicy kick to it. One big thing I noticed was that they make sure to coat the popcorn evenly with the spices so it’s not like all the spices are on the top like nachos — definitely appreciated that: D The sandwiches were SOYUMMY. I can’t get over how great the portabello mushroom was or how much CHEESE they smother both sandwiches with. They took sandwiches to another level and I was so wonderfully satisfied with them. Also very nice is they cut the sandwiches in half so it made splitting with my boyfriend super easy. The ginger beer tasted like straight up ginger soda — can’t believe it was 4.8% alcohol! So refreshing.

This lovely little gem is my favorite place to eat in the tiny, charming town of Point Arena, CA. If you’re traveling up the north coast you should stop in and stay a bit. Have a nice conversation with some genuinely good people and take in the groovy vibe. The food is great, go for the small plates of almonds, cheese and olives or if you have a decent appetite order the BLT with avocado on the side or the Cuban panini topped with a delicious garlic aioli that dreams are made of… you can’t go wrong. If you happen to wander in on a Wednesday around 8:00pm you may get the chance to enjoy open mic night. I was really impressed with the diverse group of musicians and artists who came together to share their gifts on the night I dined. Who knows, maybe you will be inspired to get up on stage, too. In my book 215 on Main gets all the stars. Check it out, you can thank me later.

215 Main is still a solid 5 star. After my first visit, I wanted to try out the bar menu so decided to have an early dinner. My wife ordered the Mediterranean Tuna sandwich which she said was delicious — lots of firm, tuna meat. I had The Cuban sandwich which was outstanding — the garlic aioli really topped it off perfectly on a perfectly crusted roll with melted Swiss cheese. We plan to return — she for the jot pastrami and me for the 215BLT. The following evening we returned to discover what the Gypsy Swing Band was all about. WOW! The pure, raw talent of this group filled the room and poured onto the street outside! The violinist, Corwin Zekley, is an absolutely amazingly talented young man — he’s heading to the Berklee Boston Conservancy this Spring and we consider ourselves to be fortunate to have had the opportunity to listen to him on his journey to stardom! 215 Main brings in fantastic local and visiting talent. If you are in the area when live music is playing be sure to visit this really awesome venue!

If you are just passing through truly worth a stop: Great for a casual drink, a quick delicious bite, a nice chat with the people running the place — whatever comes out of the kitchen is delightful and they offer a well curated wine and beer selection. If you can stay a while check out the bar’s programs and special events — no disappointment here.

We love North Coast, and a chance visit to this place made us feel so special! Nestled in cute Point Arena downtown, this Live Events venue is stocked with local and foreign wines, and some cool craft beers! Saturday night is Flamenco, and what a romantic experience it was. We tried Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Brown Ale, Zinfandel — all wonderful. Its a cash only btw! They serve panini as well, ask for it!

Great service, and good a palatable bar menu. The ambiance is great as well. If you pair the evening with a movie from across the street at their local vintage theater, it makes for a great evening!

Really really cool bar with an urban atmosphere. Beer selection is limited but good enough for me. Bar food were made in front of you and they are pretty delicious. I like how they have live music going on at night. I was there on July 4th and got a chance to listen to some really good musicians. The bar only takes cash. I totally recommend this place.

Doug at 215 Main saved my working holiday weekend and confirmed my suspicion that Point Arena may be the friendliest town on the coast! I was staying in a house for the weekend where the wi-fi went down at the last minute and I thought I might have to drive back to the city for the holiday weekend instead to get the pile of work that I had brought with me done. However, 215 came to my rescue, welcoming me to park out front and log in to the wifi at all hours of the day if I needed. Of course I came inside at one point only to be met with a great selection of local wines, carefully prepared specialty sandwiches and great conversation!

After cruising on HWY1 for a bit and not knowing this area that well; place to eat or dine, have a drink, etc. We came across this gem in need of locating a place to stay for the night as the owner /staff were extremely friendly and helpful with a smile. We enjoyed some hot tea with fresh lemons, and a glass of wine while we were being helped out. We were recommended to the Warf Master Hotel as it turned out to be a great place to stay by the ocean. We then came back later on Saturday Night as they had live music from 7pm-10pm and it was packed with lots of great fun people. The music was very enjoyable(Live Jazz Band). The owner/staff recognized us again and welcomed us back in with a great accommodations. This place made us feel very comfortable, warm, and welcomed. We didn’t have a chance to try the food but next time we will. They usually have several events throughout the week like Karaōke, open mic, live music. Stop by and check it out. :)

Met a lot of New York City folks and friendly locals who filled me in on the region’s landscape ecology and Garcia River restoration. The wine selection is quite good, and you can bring food from other spots or order sandwiches at the bar. There is a legendary break at Point Arena and I caught it on a full moon at 4AM the next morning.

$ 3 quality beers on tap(most from Anderson Valley Brewing Company) for Happy Hour(3−5pm). We had rosemary almonds and olives($ 5 for both). Delicious sandwich menu had us back, mouths watering, the following day, but alas they don’t open until 3pm. :-( Kid-friendly; we sat our back and enjoyed the fresh air. Our kid is a baby, so no idea about foods, etc. No high-chairs that I saw.

What a neat place in Point Arena — brick walls, nice lighting, bar and tables! A faux fireplace and dart board along with a couple of TV’s completes the scene. Friendly service and as someone else said, kind of like Cheers! Decent selection of draft beers, including several from North Coast and Anderson Valley Brewing. $ 4 regular price for a pint is pretty decent. Nice selection of wines also. If you want food, a bag of chips is all they have but they have menus from places across the street and you can grab food to go and bring it back.

Just adding to the 5-star reviews! We found ourselves downtown Pt Arena(what an odd an wonderful little town!) looking for dinner. The highly-rated Uneda, across the street, was closed for a private party, so we wandered in here. The lovely bartender informed us that they don’t serve food, but she provided us with a variety of menus from local establishments that we could order from and eat there at the bar. We ended up with a great pizza from Pizzas n’ Cream, some great wine, and great entertainment in the form of a poetry slam over some of the best live jazz we’ve heard.

I have been here four times now for Tango Night. What a great spot for tango and what wonderful hosts the owners and the bartenders have been.

As the previous reviewers said, the class of some hip SF place of the month without the attitude or pretensions. A locals joint where you are a stranger but once. The ability to order food«from anywhere» is just awesome.

This might be the Cheers of the Mendo Coast, only with real characters like Bill, the owner, who have all been around and opened this comfy, classy wine bar to feed the soul and lift the spirit. Cathy and I had a party here for 40 and intend on having another soon. Locals and weekend beachcombers all felt welcomed and good time had by all. Want to sit at the bar with a pizza from The General or fish and chips from Chowder House, no problem. Obviously a task of love to open and run this gem and it shows. Good for making small-talk with Mr. or Mrs. Right or even Mr. or Miss Right Now. Wow! Had my welcome home to Mendo Party here in August and it was another Good Time. Things got too busy for Bill so Bill’s daughter, Brawin of Redwood Fire, Co-owner Tish and another charming lady helped bartend. Chowder House catered with their baked salmon and sushi platters and even the party crashers couldn’t resist pigging out. Thanks to all.

Exceptional, even if it was located in San Francisco, and it definitely is not. Why is an establishment of this quality in this small coastal town? It’s great, nice growing selection of reasonably priced wine, tempting weekly events, great interior design, right across the street from a reclaimed cinema house showing art films and first run block buster. Do not miss this place. Opens at 2:15 daily.
