The food here is fresh and delicious! My favorite is the spicy crunchy tuna roll. The complementary fried bananas at the end of the meal are definitely something to look forward to. Great service and atmosphere!

Outstanding sushi. More than deserving of the five stars. Thomas is a master of his craft as well as everyone else working the sushi bar.

Have been to this place more than a few times. Previously Blue Fin 2 now rebranded. Our choice if we are craving some sushi/sashimi in the suburbs. There are not many choices in the area. Small usually always busy place with efficient, friendly service run by a Korean family. BYOB. More importantly fresh sushi! The white tiger and tuna tartare are amazing. Moche for desert or tempura green tea ice cream with chocolate sauce. The only downside pretty much all specialty rolls have shellfish so if you are allergic(as my husband) it’s very limiting although they probably could create a roll if you ask some specifically. I still feel that it would be a big plus that they would have it and consider adding it to their menu and diversify.

Get the fresh scallops when they get an order in, which I think is only once a week. They only order 6 or so, so it definitely goes quick. I was fortunate enough to get the first order. It was so fresh, it was still moving when they were cutting it up. It was a little unsettling watching them slam this living thing on the counter to kill it, but I had no problem eating it when the deed was done. It was my first time having raw scallops too, and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with a spoonful of hot sauce, which tasted like a sweet sriracha. The uni here is always on point. Sweet, not sea watery like many other places. They always have the freshest seafood, and their green tea doesn’t come from packets — or if it does, they do a really good job of brewing it. I’m upgrading them from 4 to 5 stars.

If you’re a sushi lover stay away. This is your typical suburban sushi restaurant where people don’t like fish. Grocery store grade fish, stale nori and miniscule portions to boot. Udon was good. Uni was good but with stale low grade nori it was pitiful. These are your California roll loving eaters. Scared of anything different or exotic. Restaurant people stay away.

I admit, when I first drove up to the restaurant and saw that it was in a strip mall, I was a bit hesitant because it looked a little sus. I mean, who eats sushi from a strip mall? Well I do! Walking into the restaurant I was immediately greeted by a young man from the waitstaff. They were preparing for a large party and repeatedly apologized for the wait for my table. Once we were seated the service went great. Even with a much larger party next to us, we were never forgotten about. Customer service at Woojung is definitely A+. The food was another winner. The fish and vegetables in the rolls we had all tasted very fresh and there was not a crumb leftover. The waiter recommended the fried green tea ice cream, which I was skeptical about, but the more I ate it, the more I liked it. If you order it though, ask for the chocolate sauce on the side. The bottled sauce taste can be a little overpowering. All in all a great meal served by really nice people. Can’t get any better than that… well, a liquor license would make it better, but whatevs.

Great BYOB sushi spot in Plymouth Meeting. Located in the middle of a strip mall, the outside leaves something to be desired however, the inside is clean, service is friendly and the food is amazing! Will definitely Italy be going back!

Fresh fresh fresh sushi and sashimi. That’s what we come here for. But this little gem also has cooked foods, atmosphere, great energy(from the constantly filled dining room) and is BYOB. During my recent visit, my friend and I shared the $ 70 chef’s special sushi/sashimi dinner for 2, which came with 2 rolls, 12 pieces of sushi and 12 sashimi. It was plenty for 2 chitchatting friends. I’ve been here when it was Bluefin2 and have also been to the East Norriton location. It’s our favorite restaurant for sushi in the Philly burbs area.

Excellent sushi restaurant that was formerly named(and still owned by) Bluefin2. Probably the best sushi in the Philly ‘burbs, this little BYOB in a nondescript storefront on Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting offered a nice atmosphere, excellent service, engaging sushi chefs that know their craft, and most importantly fresh, delicious sushi. We enjoyed several rolls(including the«Kiss of Death», a spicy concoction that is one of their signature rolls) and sashimi. Unlike many contemporary sushi joints, Woojung makes little use of mayo in the sauces that adorn their rolls(at least the three that I enjoyed) so if you like a more traditional roll this is a good call. The wasabi pork dumplings are not to be missed. Overall, a great sushi experience, well worth your time and sheckles.

The best sushi place I’ve been to — hands down. Philly and north philly offer a lot of sushi choices. Many places also offer attractive deals like«½ price sushi». But this place is different. Bluefin2 — or now woojung — is quality food. The serving portions are large and very diverse. They always add extra sauce if you want and the family atmosphere is great. They also have awesome off menu sushi items and aren’t afraid to try to create something you like. Knowing they are also from Upenn is just icing on the cake. The only possible negative thing I can even say is that their dessert menu needs work. I generally don’t go to a sushi restaurant for dessert but if you had a lava cake or brownie Sunday, I would order it.

What an amazing place. The staff are some of the friendliest people ever, they give you that family owned vibe. Jung was our server, she told us about the name Woojung, it’s a combination of her name and her brother’s. So cool. The food. Oh man the food. So myself and a large group of friends went to Woojung. We ordered about 6 different rolls to share, seriously some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. If they have specials, order them. They had oyster shots and their squid salad, which were so unique tasting and amazing. Make reservations, place is busy for obvious reasons. Also, it’s BYOB!

So we dropped by the night before a family event and found Jung working, she was our server. Turns out she’s one of those people who has a real day job, but instead of being and actor or a student, she’s a legitimate healthcare computer person. And her dad’s a PhD. And he’s the chef. You could call it over educated sushi, but I think it’s more likely a family thing; like helping out on weekends. That’s probably why we never met Woo; sibling rivalry, you know. We were cracking it up all evening. My wife says it was a great time… and the food was good. That’s kind of a joke because the food was very good. Very very good, The last time I ate Japanese in Philly was at Morimoto’s and I won’t pretend to draw parallels, suffice it to say I know my Japanese food. I know it’s a Korean family, but don’t get technical! The technique was on the plate, flavors were subtle and layering was an eye opener. For example, look at the oyster shooter. Throw an oyster into a shotglass with some vinegary stuff and chase it with a beer? Maybe in Savannah… Not at WooJung where ponzu, scallions and a tiny dollop of sriracha opened my eyes to the way sriracha can work when the heat is not central to your purpose. We had a ginger salad, salmon tartare, a variety of rolls and a sunomono bowl. All exhibited the same attention to detail, delicate flavorings and a good use of technique and plating. Red bean Mochi was a first for me, so all I can say is I liked it and it was one of the prettiest plates of the evening. One more comment is the Kiss of Fire, a roll served in aluminum foil set on little support frame in the plate and set on fire with cooking alcohol. A little gimmicky maybe, but it makes for a great table side service item, sparking inevitable conversation with neighboring tables. I’m coming back to sample other things on the menu!

If I am feeling splurgy and craving high quality sushi. This is the place to go. The north shore roll was one of the lightest and refreshing rolls I’ve ever had. It had a variety of fresh fish, mango, all in a cucumber skin. It was absolutely delicious and out of this world. I love seafood and this had large pieces of really fresh fish and was absolutely fantastic. My friend and I also ordered the kiss of fire roll, which was very yummy and a huge portion, some wontons, and some fried tofu. Everything was yummy, came out fast, and served with a smile. Not to mention its BYOB. It is an unassuming location, but it is absolutely a hidden gem of plymouth meeting.

Really good sushi. I don’t even like spicy, but I’m obsessed with their spicy mayo and volcano roll(as long as they remove the shell from the fried soft shell crab meat). Their seaweed salad is the absolute freshest I’ve ever had. My only complaint is that a lot of their food tastes the same. The tuna munchkin appetizer is the exact same flavor as the spicy tuna roll with just a different presentation. They put the same sauces on practically every dish… luckily it’s good but lacks variety. Excellent service.

I am catching up on my reviews but I have to say I am still drooling over the thought of recalling the sushi I had here. The place is small, but not in a bad way. It’s perfectly set up, great ambience and just the perfect amount of space thats made to work But more importantly… the food was memorable that I am giving it 5 stars. It’s BYOB. The staff was extremely friendly and on point. Sushi was not the only highlight of the evening but definitely was something I remembered. Try it out. So good.

I love this place! I get to go every six months, and this time I was wowed. The services is outstanding and personable. Baby octopus special appetizer was tender and flavorful. The tuna and yellowtail rolls were fresh and robust. Had some tuna nuggets from a friend’s plate which were addictive. Dessert was fried green tea cream with chocolate –Mmm. The complimentary dessertvwss orange melon and some sweet rice. I left completely satisfied.

Came to Bluefin2 last night with my parents and sister and it COMPLETELY lived up to its Unilocal reviews! Ambiance was cozy and certainly unassuming in the tiny strip mall it is located in, but don’t be confused by it’s small«stature», the flavor and creativity in their sushi was huge. Probably the best thing of all was our service. Everyone who helped us was incredibly kind and cordial. It made the whole dining experience very relaxing. Food was an A++… I reviewed another sushi restaurant in California last time I was out and said it was the best sushi I had ever had in my life and Bluefin2 was right in line with that. I now have a new favorite on the east coast and can’t believe it’s taken me two years to find it only two miles from my house!

I have to agree with many of the Unilocalers in regards to the location. Bluefin2 is like a diamond in the rough. It’s definitely located in a mini strip mall. When I pulled into the parking lot, I thought about backing out and going somewhere else. A sushi spot between a nail salon and a convenient store. Tell me that doesn’t sound a little sketchy. Upon walking in, I realized it was pretty nice and cozy inside. We went for lunch. There were two people working at the time; the waitress, Matilda, and the sushi chef. Matilda was extremely helpful. She explained the menu, provided suggestions and answered any and all of our questions. Thanks to her, we tried the Kiss of Fire, which was one of the most awesome sushi rolls I have ever had in my life. I’ll try to paint the picture for you so that you can visualize for yourself. Picture a shrimp tempura roll topped spicy tuna and eel drizzled with eel sauce. It’s wrapped in aluminum foil and roasted right in front of you. Once Matilda felt it was done, she opened the foil to reveal a tasty sushi roll. Aside from the Kiss of Fire, we ordered various lunch special rolls. Our complimentary dessert was cantalope and tempura banana. I ordered three rolls: California, Spicy Tuna and Salmon. They were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the specialty rolls, including the White Tiger and the Kiss of Death. I encourage you to try this place. Don’t let the location dissuade you.

Ever had a barbecued sushi roll? If not, I highly recommend the Kiss of Fire roll for your first experience. Not found on the menu and offered as an occasional special(however you can request it at any time) this is a shrimp tempura roll, wrapped up and topped with avocado, unagi, spicy tuna and tobiko, and drizzled in sweet sauces. The entire roll is wrapped up in foil, doused in Bicardi 151 and lit at the table presenting a smoky, crispy, «sushi-bbq.» The taste of this roll and the smokiness is not only unique but it lingers. Other roles pale in comparison to this roll. Get this roll as the grand finale. We also ordered a North Shore roll with mango that had some of the freshest fish around. The fancier rolls run about $ 15 and sizeable enough to share. The most surprising part was that this place is literally in the middle of nowhere(no offense to residents) and it has all the makings of a fancier sushi restaurant in any urban area, yet it is found in the outer burbs of Philly in a small strip mall with a tiny and scary parking lot. The service was fast and friendly and they even ended the meal with complimentary pineapple slices and fried bananas. Next time I am in Philly I will definitely go out of my way to come here for that sushi bbq roll!
