The best Asian buffet I’ve personally ever been to. Not the run of the mill jawn: they actually have sashimi, etc…

This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch and to get sushi takeout. It’s expensive at dinner time, so I usually have lunch, which is less expensive and not nearly as crowded. This is one of those places that people should go to try sushi! The selection is unmatched. This place is also great for couples where one likes sushi and the other likes cooked foods. There is a wide selection of both. The service is great and the staff are very friendly. Sushi takeout is charged by the piece and usually runs $ 10-$ 15 for a platter full, depending on what you pick.

Minado offers great food at a good price. The variety of sushi is enough to make most anyone happy, and the quality of the raw ingredients was decent. Im happy to note that minado is a place that doesn’t try to cram rice down your throat with every piece of sushi, and some of the rolls are quite creative(eat: heaven roll, salmon crunch roll). The hot foods are good, especially the salmon collar and the bonito topped mussels, but in general arent that special. The udon soup is delicious and to top off every meal, I get the vanilla soft serve ice cream with some shockingly buttery mini chocolate chip cookies.

I used to come here a lot and couldn’t wait to eat here again, but I can honestly say that if I don’t wake up at 3 in the morning throwing up and having explosive dumps all night I’ll be happily surprised. Our service was bad. All the guy has to do is give us drinks and he couldn’t even get those little things right. The hibachi portion doesn’t even serve fried rice and is being run by the Mexican-Asian version of Adolf Hitler. I was almost afraid to order. When I got the scallops they looked like little white rubber balls that came out of a sea bass’s ass. The sushi tasted like it was sitting out for 3 days and the sashimi was now served in portions to make sure the place keeps making money. Getting back to the sushi. I took a bite of the red snapper nigiri and I kid you not it was crunchy. Crunchy!!! It’s not even shellfish! Took a bite of the squid and if I put a 10 rubber bands in my mouth, that might have tasted better. Finally on to the crab legs. Did I say crab? I meant crap. The crap legs were ice cold. We asked our server for a cracker and he was too busy talking and joking around with his co-workers. Attempted to crack the claw with my hands and the thing was probably more dangerous dead than alive. Got the $ 71 check and what a freakin ripoff. I hope the owners of this place close this place down before someone dies of food poisoning or someone comes back and craps on the hibachi table, which might actually improve the food.

3.5 stars. I use to love this place, after coming back after many years, the quality of food doesn’t seem the same. The sushi here is good but because this place is a buffet, some of the sushi look old and unappealing. I do like how they have more options for non-sushi lovers. There is a crêpe station and a general buffet area full of seafood and other sorts. Overall, if you eat a lot here then it’s worth the cost. It’s not the best seafood/sushi buffet place but this place does have a lot if variety in the foods so it makes up for it. It’s got a little bit of everything for everyone. This place is great for big groups, families, or even dates.

First it is $ 31 per person so it’s not cheap, second and most importantly, the food was close to disgusting. It was not good at all! Sushi was not tasty at all and neither were the rest of the items. I am really disappointed as we drove an hour just to get to this place thinking that we are going to have a great sushi buffet! With the price of what we paid, we could’ve gone to a great sushi restaurant that’s much tastier and paid less too. Never returning back

I love this place. It’s great if you want sushi and/or seafood and want one of everything. Always a plethora of snow crab legs available — never have to wait for them to refill it, or even wait in line, unlike other buffets. They’re served chilled which I prefer because it’s easier to eat without burning your hands every step of the way. Good selection of rolls for those that like rolls. I’m more of a sashimi gal and there’s a nice selection available. They always have ikura(salmon roe) which is my favorite. Most of the time they have sea urchin, but not always. The cooked food is decent. I really like the little neck clams in miso broth. The broth is great!

Minado! What happened?! You took a serious nosedive, and we could tell it wasn’t just us because the usual hordes of Asian families were conspicuously missing. The waiter claimed it was because the Eagles were playing… but this is Asian families we’re talking about here. Sports never outweighs food. The beef(short ribs and teriyaki) used to be so tender and delicious that I would dream about them later. Tonight they were tough, dry, and pretty tasteless. Like an Old Country Buffet steak. Their basa fish used to be my favorite thing there, but tonight they were hard little over-fried flat pucks of salty breading. And what’s with all the empty serving dishes?! Why do we have to ask for 25 percent of the buffet to be replenished? Sashimi was dismal, a few cubes of fish on a little plate to limit how much you can take, but sashimi is supposed to be long thin slivers of fish. Not blocks of it. Ugh. Weird. Also, when a buffet restaurant says their last seating is at 8:30, you don’t expect them to start clearing items off of the buffet line before 8:30! WTH?! We got to the restaurant at 7:32 and they had already stopped replenishing dishes. My mom couldn’t get any crab on her second round. They were clearing the dessert table before 8:45. Still a bit better than other Asian buffets, but not worth the upcharge. My family used to come for every special occasion and every time the whole family was together. We probably won’t be back.

Its been a couple years since my last review of Minado so I thought i’d give an update. We totally went crazy eating everything in sight last night haha. Minado would benefit from maybe a light make over on the inside and maybe dimmer lighting for a more upscale appeal. I thought it was funny that some of the sushi rolls they offer have not changed at all, and the Unagi is in the same place that it has been since they opened, and it’s empty as usual to. I asked the sushi chef to fix some up and they did right away; it was fantastic as usual too. They also make a few additional rolls on request too which is very cool. I’d like to see more sushi rolls with sashimi on top, that would be a nice addition to the line up. The snow crab legs were awesome Oysters really fresh and the fried Monk fish was tasty as well. The Yakitori was reminiscent of Asian street food, awesome!!! Deserts were great too from cakes to crepes and green tea ice cream, we left overstuffed and extremely happy haha. Hit the Wine shop next door for Soju and wine. They do have shot glasses and proper wine glass at Minado. Staff were super friendly too, our server was Mike, a very cool guy and good with convo when he was rolling around. He was very attentive and on top of everything we might need.

Its been a couple years since I’ve been here. The food was just as good as I remember it being. It’s a good place to come for all you can eat sushi that’s really good. The quality of the sushi is definitely a step up from the Chinese buffets. They also have a variety of other foods and an udon bar. I thought that it was interesting that they charge kids by the height and not the age. My one friend had a 3 month old who is tall for his age and they looked to see how tall he was. We pointed out that he wasn’t even old enough to eat solids and we were told they charge be height. Um ok…(Is that a Philly thing?) My other friend’s kid was 2 and didn’t eat. My friends thought that they wouldn’t get charged because usually kids 2 and under and free plus he didn’t really eat since he doesn’t eat sushi but when we got the bill, they charged for him(not much but still). Overall, it was a good experience though. The food was good and the waiter was nice.

Better than most buffets, they greet you with a smile and sat us right away. Our waitress Q is an Asian female with blonde hair, ask for her you cannot go wrong. Ask her to sing… lol She is friendly and attentive, an all around people person. and just when you think your getting full she will coax you into eating more. As with most buffets your not going to like everything , but the things you may not like, will be on a very short list. Make sure you try the crepes and the hibachi station If you like sushi and sashimi you will be in heaven. It’s spacious, with good food, and the service is on point.

They actively ration the sashimi. Sure that happens at buffets in general you may think, but at yesterday’s visit, it was hard to get a look at the sashimi because people WEREINLINE. Not only did they stop having the sashimi in bulk, but they put 2 – 3 pieces on a soy sauce dipping plate while someone is cutting the sushi to «meet» demands. People are in line to grab the sashimi, which in turn blocks the cold salad areas and annoys other patrons. I didn’t see much tuna or salmon sashimi, either. I went back three times to grab sashimi, and the wait and line deterred me– I guess this is what the owners were going for. Thank you! Your goal was achieved. Over the years, this place has been on the decline. They don’t warm up the crab legs, the jumbo stuffed shrimp is no longer there and now have things like French Fries(that aren’t even fried well!) and other random substitutes. They ration the sashimi and the oysters! I used to say that the price was worth it for the selection, but not anymore. Does anyone know if any of their other locations declined in quality as well?

Originally I gave Minado a five star after my first visit but since then has declined greatly. Food: they have vast choices of cut rolled sushi which is amazing for a buffet. The raw fish selections are pretty standard. The taste on those pieces though are pretty bland. At least it doesn’t have the fishy smell. There’s also hand rolls available but you do have to request it from the worker. Additionally, their hot foods are very different compare to most buffets(e.g. Imitation crab stuffed jumbo shrimp, yakitori) which makes it unique and fun to enjoy. Overall, it’s nice if you’re craving sushi and do not care too much about quality(do keep in mind it is a buffet). Service: impeccable service by the waiters/waitresses. Attentive and always try to make a light conversation. Space: it is a very spacious buffet with many large tables for bigger parties. I never feel like people can hear my conversation so that is a plus. Now the bad: my boyfriend loves buffet and sushi so Minado is his kryptonite. We dined here two days ago with his friends and spent about $ 400. Came here again today because that’s how much he likes sushi… I went to the bathroom and saw that their advertisement that you get $ 20 dollars gift card for dining here on your birthday week, week! Not day! So I went up to the guy in the front(and later on my waitress too) and asked if I can redeem that reward. He said no, it can only be given out on the day you actually dined here… Granted we are eating here again two days later! But because this second time around is less than 100 dollars, it’s not qualifying. Yeah, lost a customer there Minado. Is that worth it? To be stingy to loyal customers. Noted, we drive about 45 minutes to an hour to get here.

Minado is perfect for when you have the pang for sushi but you don’t want to commit to just one or 2 certain rolls. I come here in groups because there is something for everyone and its a flat price which makes dividing up checks super easy. I believe they are BYOB and its extra convenient that the Wine and Spirits store is literally next door. When you pitch to someone a sushi Buffett in a stop mall, it doesn’t sound too appealing but in my experience it has never disappointed. The décor inside is tasteful and they display the sushi thoughtfully. There is a little bit of a funky smell that hits you when you walk it and that’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5. I keep coming back time and time again and I would recommend it to anyone with a big appetite and a love for Asian cuisine.

I think Minado really earns a 3.5, but this place is classy and I give them the benefit of the doubt. I think this buffet offers incredible value and is definitely worth a trip if Japanese food buffet is what you seek. For dinner, it’s about $ 35 + tax + tip. If you consider a meal at a Japanese restaurant and map it out, you could not do it for $ 35 for one. For example, consider appetizers: miso soup, salad, oysters. Entrée: hibachi or 2 – 3 rolls. Dessert. Except now, put a price on variety and the option for more than just that scripted meal. They offer hibachi(although I think the ingredients a bit weak and tasteless), raw bar(OYSTERS) and sashimi, baked fish, glazed veggie kebab, stuffed shrimp, baked spinach oyster, various salad options(black seaweed tofu, seaweed), a whole sushi bar, mini desserts, ice cream, fresh fruit, crêpe bar, soups(crab soup, and miso), and of course CRABLEGS, and other dishes I am forgetting. Crab legs are cool and not warmed and they have a sign stating at this time they cannot heat them. The reason why I said 3.5 is because their sushi fish is average at best. It doesn’t smell. It tastes ok, but it tastes generic. Their sushi rolls aren’t all brimming with mostly rice, and they do a good job of keeping the rolls interesting with different colored wraps and fillings and use of crab and fish in a single roll. The maki rolls I chose all were all very good, but not amazing. I think this is a pretty optimistic review for a Japanese buffet granted how poorly one could be executed. It’s very impressive they’ve been able to scale this sort of operation for food that isn’t all greasy and fried. The desserts here are delicious and I wonder if they have a pastry chef or the hook up to an awesome baker!

With over 250 reviews in, not much I can say that hasn’t already been covered. Its kind of like reviewing Star Wars. Really I just wanted to put my 5 stars in but it requires text. To confirm what others have said– the Sushi isn’t the best in the area, but its good, and the variety is almost endless. You get a great meal the whole way through. Like others have said, its a great finish with the green tea ice cream and krepes. You can easily spend 2 hours of straight eating here.

Had the teppanyaki: shrimp was tasty, scallops were tiny. The kalbi and teriyaki chicken were tasty. Didn’t have the snow crab but they looked good. Oysters and mussels were good. Sushi: I enjoyed the fish only sushi, I didn’t especially care for the specialty rolls. The soft serve green tea was creamy and delicious. I also liked the Jello and the marble cookie. Service was good, we all got refills on our drinks without having to ask. Overall a positive experience. Price is about right for what you get. Additional note regarding the specialty sushi selections, although I didn’t care for them, there was a decent selection and it wasn’t mostly fried stuff.

Oh Minado — you had me at «all-you-can-eat sushi.» I’ve been here twice, always for lunch since it’s only $ 17 per person. You get a lot of bang for your buck, with over twenty different types of sushi/sashimi(including the Friday only lobster roll) plus a bunch of other Asian seafood fare and a decent dessert bar. The sushi is delicious and there’s a wide variety — they offer your more traditional sushi rolls along with Americanized versions(such as the Philly Roll, containing cream cheese). It’s not going to be the best sushi you’ve ever had, but it’s still way better than the sushi you’ll receive at an Asian buffet. The only major negative is some of the sushi has to many ingredients and/or is cut too thinly, which results in the roll falling apart if you’re attempting to pick it up with chop sticks. Overall, this is way above average buffet sushi at an affordable price(especially for lunch). Add to it a very attentive and courteous waitstaff and you have your favorite sushi place in King of Prussia.

If you’re like and stuff your face with sushi at any Asian buffet, I really recommend coming here. The sushi is definitely better than other Chinese buffets I’ve been to that don’t specialize in sushi. The cooked foods are higher quality as well. I think it’s well worth the $ 17 price for lunch. I’m looking forward to seeing what dinner has to offer. Pros: — Higher quality food vs cheaper buffets — Large variety of sushi(even some I’ve never had before, like salmon skin) — Waiter was friendly — Nice interior Cons: — Eel sushi is only available during dinner — Price is higher($ 17 for lunch), but worth it
