We came in on a rainy Saturday and were so happy that we did. Great atmosphere, friendly wait staff and incredible prices. The lunch menu has so many great smaller portion options for an unbelievably reasonable price. They have happy hour from 2 to 6 and I had a nice $ 4 sangria and a beer. Do not miss the Chipotle Chips(fries) — they are addictive. I also had the chicken skewers and they were excellent.

Nice place to have a drink or two. Pub atmosphere. Their food is actually good too. Not a lot of different beers on tap unfortunately. Thursday/Friday Saturday nights they have a DJ and dancing which starts around 11ish. Always a full house fun relaxed place to go out.

Can’t speak for the food here, just their late night business. Reluctantly came here around 20 minutes before they started their ‘dj’ set, had a beer and talked with some friends. Already got id’d at the bar. Left to go have a cigarette, and upon re-entry I guess they had started their ‘dj night’. got id’d again and a stamp. About an hour later and a huge line out the door I left to have another smoke with some friends, and when we were headed back inside the guy said we had to wait at the back of the line, even after showing him our stamp? What the hell? I don’t understand the point of the stamp at this point. A big group of friends were still inside but this place is not worth waiting in a line for. After being inside their business for about 2 hours, they should have a better way of dealing with their crowds and already paying customers.

It was weird. We were sitting there enjoying a beer while background music played over the speakers and then suddenly a DJ set up and was blasting Club hits. We we’re not pleased. Nice«pub» /sarcasm. They serve Racer 5, only plus.

Good people and they have a dance floor! Great music selection, and the drinks are always a plus. Wished they stayed open longer than 1am, but no bigge.

This place is great! Great, upbeat, fun atmosphere, delicious drinks and yummy food. The prices are also extremely reasonable and you’re able to walk away stuffed and satisfied. Both a great bar and dinner place!

Cute place in Pleasanton however service was not on top of it. We had to ask 3 times for silverware, go inside to ask for our check and to go box. Staff was friendly but more interested in flirting with other customers. My water was never refilled. The breading on the fish and chips was overpowering and extremely heavy. My husband ordered the chicken curry which was ok except the chicken appeared to be precooked cut up chicken. Also everything we wanted they were out of.

Okay so I want to explain why I gave the 4 star rating and not a five star since I am about to totally recommend Eating here at RedCoats. I gave them 4 stars simply because I have only eaten take out and never have sat to eat a meal inside. With that being said, despite only eating there take out, the food is absolutely delicious. From the tri tip sandwich all the way to the Jumbo Coconut Prawns. Everything is always cooked to order. Ready and still hot when picked up. I work right next door at Fernandos Mexican Restaurant so I eat here maybe, 2 – 3 times a week. Sometimes I’m in the mood for other than Mexican cuisine. What got me to order and continue ordering their food was the tri tip bruschetta. It is absolutely amazing. During their happy hour you can not beat the pricing. Great mixed drinks and beer selection as well. I’ve never been done wrong by the staff nor the owners Tommy and his mother Mary. With all that being sad, try out this gem of Pleasanton. If your looking to shake a leg, come out on a Thursday — Friday — or Saturday for their awesome night life. All in all… Great family — cool staff — amazing food — WHATMORECANYOUASKFOR!!! Our group of 12 coworkers came for trivia night on Wednesday, having left our previous(3 year long) stint going to weekly trivia at Sauced in Livermore due to bad service. Unfortunately, it appears that Redcoats will not be our new staple. First, the place deserves at least 1 star due to its food, which was generally good. For my part, the food I received was quite tasty– the restaurant did a great job taking boring, bland, British pub food and turning it into very good dishes. One in our group was unsatisfied with his french dip, but other than that nobody had complaints about the food. The service, unfortunately, did not match the quality of the cuisine. Our waitress was incredibly slow to start our service, taking quite some time to bring even drinks. Ordering and receiving food likewise took an age. During the course of the 3 – 4 hours of trivia, our water was refilled exactly 1 time and the table was not offered more drinks, a dessert menu, or anything else after the food had finished(at maybe 2 hours into the service). Despite this lackluster service, the waitress refused to split the check and even included a mandatory 20% gratuity in the bill. While certainly policies regarding check splitting and gratuity are the purview of the restaurant to decide, the 20% was excessive for the apparent level of service provided, other tables with similar numbers of people were given split checks without the 20% service charge, and nowhere in the restaurant or menu did I see any policy stating that they would not split checks or add 20% gratuity. Add to this that the waitress had disappeared after giving us the bill, apparently because she had anticipated an issue stemming from her lack of service. Several from the group asked the manager about the bill, but he just tried to make empty excuses as to why other tables were treated differently. At the end of the night, the service at Redcoats proved to be no better than Sauced. We will certainly not be returning.

We hit up Redcoats since it was one of the few pubs open after 10pm. They had Guinness on tap which is a must have in my book. The place was pretty packed when we arrived, and seemed to get even more so as the night wore on. Dance floor was full of people having a great time. All in all, a great spot, chill people, and no drama.

Great spot! Friendly staff, good atmosphere and food… Came here for drinks and appetizers while we watched the women’s World Cup. They have a nice patio, good Happy Hour and the coconut shrimp and cheese fries were both awesome!!!

My husband and I went in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We asked the bartender if we could sit outside and she seemed annoyed with the idea, but there were people sitting outside, at least three other tables, so she reluctantly agreed. We should have known then what we were for. After waiting 15 minutes, a waitress finally arrived to take our order and bring our drinks. After another 20 minutes our food arrived. My husbands order was wrong. He asked for no tomatoes and no cheese on a sausage sandwich. What he got was no onions but tomatoes. Then his salad came without dressing. We also never were offered refills on drinks. Nor did we get any silverware to eat our food with. We had to go to the bar ourselves to refill our drinks and ask for our bill. The food was not very good, not worth the price. Still, my husband believed that this must have just been an off day, having grown up in Pleasanton and loved going here in the past, he decided to give it another shot. This past weekend he took his coworker there in an attempt to enjoy the Redcoats he remembered. The place only had 4 people in it sitting at the bar. After waiting for 5 minutes to be seated or acknowledge, even while making eye contact with the bartender– and not seeing one waitress– the realization hit him that the place just was not what it used to be. He and his friend left and had amazing service at another restaurant in town, that he loved so much we returned for lunch the following day. As a customer you want to feel welcomed and you want to be acknowledged. You want for the bartender to be friendly and greet you and most importantly you want someone to want to seat and serve you. I’m my experience no one in this place cares about the customer– and so as a result we will never visit here again, and we will spend our cash where it is wanted.

Been here quite a few times over the last 5 years. Seemed like it was better. Fish and chips are pretty good. But the food is never hot enough. The beer selection is ok but it’s never got that right temperature really and almost seems flat. Just seems like nothing special or really inviting here. Kinda where’s the there there… I’m bored. Beer not cold, food not hot, don’t feel welcome or engaged.

The food isn’t the star, but it is a nice place to gather for getting together. Wouldn’t mind coming here again, but wouldn’t suggest it myself(was here for a company party). British style pub with British fare. (+) Battered Green Beans– appetizer. So crunchy and addictive! I really liked these, and def (-) Wild Salmon & Pesto– Salmon was dry, would not recommend. I think I tried the burger, which was a bit better. (-) Brownie and Ice Cream– it was alright, ice cream in a dessert never goes wrong. Servers were friendly, and ambience is relaxing.

What’s up with the bartender talk about 3AMF’s that all taste like separate alcohols. 1 too much vodka, the other too much tequila, and the 3rd too much gin?! Wtf how can you mess up an AMF!!! This was my first time here and it was horrible! To top it off the bartender was also very rude!

Came here over the weekend for the first time and it was a great experience! If you enjoy dancing and socializing with a mixed crowd(mostly mid 20s-30s) then Redcoats is a great place for that. I can’t review the bar/bartenders since I didn’t order any drinks but I did think it was odd that last call was at 1am rather than 1:30am. I soon found out that was because they close at 1:30am not 2am like everywhere else. They turn out the lights right at closing time and herd all the sheep out the door. For a place with no cover charge I was very pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t too packed on a Friday night so we had a comfortable amount of space to dance or stand and have a conversation. The DJ was great and played all the music we were hoping to hear.

This review is geared for the night crew. If you find yourself in Pleasanton after 10PM and are looking for a place to grab a drink, this is basically the only option. They offer decent music provided via DJ, However, the dance-floor is not optimal. I guess you could say they work with what they’ve got. Additionally, the bathrooms are hidden behind the dance-floor which makes both the dancing and getting to the pot a rather difficult task. I’d say the best part of this place is the patio on a nice night. They bring in a decent crowd on the weekends and getting drinks from the bar doesn’t take to terribly long. Just hope nobody gets shot in the butt and/or a giant fight breaks out followed by early closure. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s not the worst place, but if you’re looking for a night out I recommend skipping this watering hole and getting yourself to downtown Livermore for a complete night out in the Tri-Valley. It’s too bad the Crown closed down!(sister restaurant/bar in Danville)

Yikes! It’s no wonder America thinks British food is bland and nasty if this is all they have to compare to. What a let down. Having lived in California for 4 years now I’m used to the different food but still sometimes crave some really good Curry or Fish and Chips so Hubby and I decided to come here, it is supposed to be British after all. Big mistake as the food was not good. — Chicken Curry( ) — $ 11 or $ 8 if you come on Wednesday. Smelt great, looked good, tasted of… nothing. There was absolutely no flavor just heat(spice). The Chicken was perfectly formed cuts of meat which reminded me of the sort my Sister used to get in her Weight Watchers meals and the Rice tasted like it was from a microwave bag too. — Pulled Pork Sliders( ) — $ 6 for 2. Fairly decent, not much of a smokey flavor but adequate for Pub /Bar food. For the food I think 2 stars is about all it’s worth but have given 3 for the outside patio and nice server. They also have Trivia here on a Wednesday night but you need to get here early. Tuesday and Sunday is also all day Happy Hour.

Literally just had lunch here around 11:50 or 12:00 today. My parents and I decided to stop by for lunch because they had a groupon. What a great deal! My dad and I both got the quarter pounder, and my mom ended up getting these very delicious fish & chips, with flaky batter that wasn’t too soggy. The quarter pounder that I got was just a standard burger and fries, nothing too special, but it was a very decent burger, especially considering the price. We sat out on their beautiful patio, and it was absolutely lovely because we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. I can see Red Coats becoming one of our new go-to places for lunch.
