Kinder’s Meats Deli BBQ

I come here whenever I crave for their ball tip sandwich. I love their meat and assorted sauces. They also also have delicious marinated meat to take home. Their meaty sandwiches are big and delicious!

Three stars for the food and convenience. If I’m any where near the original Kinders on Pt. Chicago, I’ll go there instead. At this particular location, I feel like it’s a bunch of teenagers behind the counter that are more interested in chatting with each other than greeting customers, saying ‘thank you’, or doing anything else customer service related. Sorry but I’m very big on communication and manners. When I buy something, I like to be thanked for my purchase. Instead I always feel like I’m an inconvenience here. When you step up to the counter, the employees kind of just stare at you with a blank ‘whaddya want’ look on their faces. I’ve been there about 7 – 8 times and had the same experience. Dickey’s down the street isn’t much better. Maybe poor service just comes with BBQ in Pleasant Hill. :/

I love kinders but i’m frustrated with this location. The last few times I’ve gone there they’ve left something out that I ordered. Since there’s a time gap between ordering and paying maybe the cashier should be repeating your order back to you. It sucks to get home and realize they forgot something

Wow! I had to host a lunch for 12 people and was a little lost as to what would work best. Kevin Pruitt put together a package that was phenomenal. The food was excellent and the service from Kevin & Anthony was top notch. If you are hungry, and in the area, it is worth your while to stop buy and get some delicious fresh food., and if you need something catered or a family meal., you cannot go wrong to get it from them.

Outstanding lunch you provided for our client meeting this afternoon. Absolutely delicious as usual. Kinder’s never disappoints. We’ll see you soon!

Have only started coming here and have made it in twice now since we moved in down the street. Open late and food is made fresh to order. The staff is very friendly and attentive while happy to answer any questions you might have. They also make it a note to tell you they are about to wash their hands before they go work on your order so cleanliness seems to be a focus as well. The burger is probably one of the best I have had and I would put it in the top 5 burgers I have eaten right up there with roam, super duper, in and out and shake shack. I look forward to coming in more often and trying out their other offerings, but this place has a solid reputation for great BBQ.

I have always been a fan of Kinder’s and the service has always been excellent, but this week they served me something that was barely edible. I was in a hurry and couldn’t get anything cooked to order or even a sandwich, so I just opted for some chicken salad. I really can’t begin to put my finger on what it was that made it so gross, but it truly was. Vaguely smoked chicken, shredded to death with mayo and pretty much nothing else but a very few cucumber slices. There was something oddly fishy about it. I kept feeling like I should be eating white fish salad, but of course it wasn’t — neither fish nor fowl. Ew. I will probably go back, but I will never order the chicken salad again.

I have been to many different locations but this location has the best service! My boyfriend and I came in and he forgot his card. We had to leave to go get it and they still had our food ready as SOON as we got back to pay. Not only that this is the first time I’ve ever been to Kinders where someone was constantly walking around to the tables and checking the sauce and making sure everything was stocked and clean AND he even stopped by our table to ask how everything was and if he could get us anything. That’s GREAT customer service! Definitely 5 stars for here!

Cool place. An excellent ball tip steak sandwich. I can’t give five stars because it’s really just a nice sandwich shop. But, they do a five star sandwich!!!

I’ve been coming to Kinder’s now on and off for about 12 years and I still love this place. Staff is friendly fast and food is still the same. It’s definitely a place to visit if your craving a really yummy ball tip sandwich. While your at it pick up some sauce or marinated meats.

Sooo when i first tried this place i was sooo amazed with all the flavors i had in my burger (kinders burger) and my fries omg BOMB. They lost a star because im really not a fan of medieum rare and i asked for well done and my burger still came out really pink so they re did it for me no hesitation no question just went right to it THANKS ANGELICA AND THANKS MARRISSA very good service to them! overall i love this place and i will continue to go here for my burger cravings and i will continue to recommend this Kinders specifically because of their service and good quality burgers :)

I’ve been coming here for years and have always loved it. Excellent service always, until today when they slaughtered my order :(Sadly I didn’t realize it until I had driven away, but they messed up on everything: gave me potato salad on both combos (I got one for me and one for my bf) when I had specifically asked for macaroni salad instead, and I had even reminded him at the end of my phone order and he confirmed when reading it back to me… Also our sandwiches had tomatoes on both when I had very nicely but very clearly asked for no tomato on one. AND no utensils in the bag so we had to stop and get some in order to eat our lunch on the go. This location let me down

Something has changed recently here. We have come here for years and always been pleased, but over the past couple of months have really seen a change. Over the past 6 weeks we’ve placed 4 sandwich orders either by phone or online. 3 of the 4 orders were wrong. The first 2 were phone orders, so we thought maybe it was a case of misunderstanding or not being able to read handwriting, so we were excited to see the online option. Today we placed an online order that clearly stated how we wanted the sandwich made — Lettuce & Mayo only, no mustard, pickle or tomato. Got the sandwich and it had pickle and tomato. The thing with pickle is that even if you take it off, the sandwich still tastes like it. It was awful, I ended up converting what was left of the sandwich into half a sandwich using just the top of the roll that didn’t have pickle juice on it, and throwing half the sandwich away. At $ 8.50 a sandwich, you should be able to read a clearly printed ticket and make a sandwich.
We’ve also seen service drop off at the meat counter. It seems only 1 or 2 people in the place can cut steaks and they never seem to be the ones who come to help us at the meat counter. For a while we weren’t able to order filet mignon by ounces, we had to order by thickness. Today we were able to order by ounces again, but again, it took a long time to get the right person to come to the counter to help.
Really disappointing to see a place we frequent and had been such fans of take such a downward turn. We’ll be looking for other options.

other places skimp on everything, i.e. self service…
–very friendly, professional service.

So many good things about this place. I used to come here waaaayyyy back when I attended College Park High School back in the day and I recently had a chance to bring my wife here. The meat quality here hasn’t changed a bit. The ball tip is my go-​to, and I absolutely love the fries. Their BBQ sauce really hits the spot, and you can actually request a few small cups of it to take to-​go.
Good food and quick service — I just wish they had locations in SoCal!

So late to the party! However, better late than never.
First time going into Kinders, I happen to be in the neighborhood and decided today was the day!
Hands down the guest service here exceeds your standard guest service in other places.
I walked in and began looking at the menu, I had a few employees ask me if I had been helped, which is great! Gave me a very welcome feeling. Awesome for a first time experience! So I looked and looked and finally decided. The cashier was smiling and took my order very accurately.
So I order the «Combination» sandwich. A combination of all dei meats. Best decision I’ve made today. It was delicious. Got the sandwich with a Dutch Crunch roll (little rough for my taste) but the ingredients exceeded my expectations. So it balanced out nicely. The service was fast as well, got my sandwich under 5 mins which was great for them being semi busy when I went in.
I definitely recommend Kinders to all sandwich lovers out there. Their bread, ingredients, and meats are unique and very tasty. I could smell the bbq in the air as I waited, I think it’s safe to say that I’ll definitely be coming back for a hot sandwich! Overall great experience. Thank you Kinders for a great lunch. Now I’m ready to take on the rest of my day.
PS. Now if only I can get my picture in a frame and put on the wall of celebrities.

Always a good fallback if you can’t decide where to go for lunch.
My favorite is the Ribeye Sandwich add spicy BBQ sauce. They’re pretty efficient and friendly at this location. Food is served hot and the place is well kept. Overall there is very little to complain about. Only thing that pops in my mind is going through a maze for the shopping center bathroom. No big deal.

Stopped by on Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat. I just moved to Pleasant Hill and had no idea this location was sooo close to my new place. I used to go to the Danville store all the time and even worked there a few years, so I know my way around a Kinders sandwich.
The staff at this location are super nice. A nice younger girl greeted me and every single person that walked in saying «Welcome to Kinders!» while making sure the entire sitting area was clean and tidy and there wasn’t a dirty dish in site — gotta love clean restaurants. The girl who took my order was awesome, super nice and made my meal quickly. Overall had a great experience. My hotlink sandwich was killer as usual. Glad I have a Kinders place nearby for my sandwich cravings. YUM!

Every time I lunch here, I’m always full and satisfied. My go to is the ball tip with their amazing fries (regular or sweet potato; sometimes I get ⁵⁰⁄₅₀). Their BBQ beef is good too. I recently tried their hot link sandwich which was more substantial than I expected. But then, they are not shy with portion size. So many choices, there is something for everyone.
Whatever you get, order the fries. They’re so good!
