Varnish Lab is finally here! I’m so excited I’ve been a resident in Playa For 3 years now and the nail salons were terrible.
Finally a high quality place that isn’t over charging.
Mar did my mani with gel and Sparkle did my pedi with gel. Hands down the BEST mani and pedi I’ve gotten in a while.
The ambiance is very nice and the staff makes it amazing :)
Diane the owner is really nice loved her energy.
Hands down this is my new nail spot!

FINALLY! A nail salon that is clean as a whistle and pleasant to actually be in.
I went in on Monday which happened to be the day of their soft opening.
I love that it is CLEAN, airy and open, and that they use non toxic products.
Yes it’s a bit more $$ but I personally will Ly extra for this level of service and cleanliness.
My biggest gross out at nail salons is when they still have the tubs with the jets. They are so unsanitary. I hope more and more nail salons follow in these footsteps because cleanliness should be first and foremost in this type of environment where hundreds of people’s feet are going to be cleaned in the same bath.
I haven’t been able to find ANY nail salons in this area or near my house in hermosa beach that use for tubs that do not have jets.
I like this place also because it’s not a salon where there are tons of technicians who do not speak English. I also feel like these employees are treated better than those types of nail salons so I prefer to patronize ethical salons such as Varnish. Found my new fave in Playa vista and will be recommending to my coworkers (we all work nearby) as well as taking clients there.
Finally, my nail tech, I think her name was Sue?
She was lovely and did a beautiful job shaping my nails exactly how I wanted (easier said than done) and painting them perfectly.
