My friends and I came to this coffee shop after our 12 miles ride every Sunday to marina Del Rey and were excited to tried out, we order a hot mocha and then the turkey avocado with bacon. And let me say that beside healthy it tasted good. The place maybe a little bit small but they have outdoor tables. Sometimes it maybe crowded but it’s worth it. We come very often on Sunday for a small breakfast

Never disappoints. Best brunch place in Playa. Walk to the beach. Parking and the wait can be a bit tricky but it is well worth it. Indoor and outdoor seating. Pet friendly outdoors. Coffee house feel on inside.

The food was decent for the price. Some menu items were not clear on restrictions, and the menu should be updated to meet their updated offers. I loved that they had a book corner, and from my observation, many locals enjoyed their daily snack there. However, since I was not a local, I didn’t quite know how the joint worked, and it took me a minute of investigating until I finally found a menu. There were 3 young women behind the counter, and not a single one offered assistance. It wasn’t until I walked up the counter and ordered that they then spoke to me. It was easy, and laid back, but it would have been nice to have it be a little less relaxed, and more helpful. I might come back if it came down to it, but if I had the option, I would try something new.

I guess it’s a good spot for locals. I did not care for it. Why? Because: –tiny –very old inside(scrub it down a bit, get new seating, something anything) –food that I ordered wasn’t jaw dropping mouth watering good –clerk(maybe owner) was very friendly(dry) What did I like? –water had cucumber taste infused(wish everyone did this) Only reason I went was because I landed from LAX and wanted to check out a local«hole in the wall». Since it had lots of reviews, this is where I arrived.

Average food with below average service. The décor and layout of Café Milan is a little bit confusing; it’s counter service with a coffee shop vibe, but also feels like a gas station convenience store with loud TV commercials playing in the background. The breakfast food is no frills, which I usually like but my side of fruit tasted verrrryy old and kind of mildewy? I would come back here to grab a latte to-go but would skip the food.

Was looking for good breakfast food in the area, decided to stop by here. You order at the counter and if you are lucky will find a seat to sit at either inside or outside. For this reason, I would say order«to go.» Your order takes a while to come out to you especially if you go on a busy day like Sunday. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. In terms of customer service, I didn’t experience anything phenomenal. The only employee I interacted with was the man at the register, who wasn’t too friendly and the man who brought out my food. The plus, it’s a pretty cheap place to grab a bite. Should I be looking for breakfast in the area again, I would go back, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get there.

Good, solid food and service every time! My husband and I walk here on the weekends and normally split the ham & cheese omelette and the blueberry pancakes. They have 6 coffee choices and the Vanilla Nut is the best! However, there is no AC inside, and most of the tables are outside. If you come here on a very hot day, it may be uncomfortable inside, and you’ll want one of the few tables with an umbrella outside.

Great breakfast on the edge of the SB. We came here after a 10k that did not go super well wheeee. Anyway afterward I had a smoothie(peanut butter, almond milk, banana, noms) and some Mexican-eggy-dish that was really good. Knocking off a star for its weird ordering and table system… seems pretty disorganized but I’m sure during the week it works well for them! Also somewhat expensive for what you get… my meal was $ 20 including tax and tip… ouch for what’s essentially a diner.

Small, quaint breakfast café located away from the busy-ness of the 2 hour long waits on a Sunday morning. I very enjoyed the blueberry banana pancakes! I ordered two blueberry pancakes and 2 eggs for ~$ 9. They have a good variety of options, including whole wheat pancakes, french toast, breakfast burritos, and additional toppings you can add to your dish. They also have some pastries and I think they had one that looked like cream puffs that looked delicious… Seating is limited, but they do offer indoor and outdoor seating. Their water is in a tea container so it has a slight taste of tea in it haha but I didn’t mind! Having tabasco, cholula, tapatio, and sriracha is always a PLUS!

Super casual place to grab breakfast in playa. They have a free parking lot, but I’ve seen the lot get pretty full in the evening. In the morning, you should be able to find parking in the lot pretty easily. We went for breakfast and they have a pretty wide variety of foods to choose from — omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pancakes, french toast. They have delicious fresh orange juice. My hubby had the ham omelette, which came with breakfast potatoes and toast. The omelette was big and tasty. I had the bagel with lox and it was delicious. It came open face with capers and lemon to squeeze onto the lox. The prices range from about $ 7 — $ 11. You may have to scramble for a seat, but the food is worth it. They offer indoor ad outdoor seating.

Café Milan fits in with the rest of the local shops. There’s nothing to draw me 50 miles away, but it’ll serve its purpose while you’re in the area. My girl friend Laura K and I got hungry for breakfast in the afternoon and made our way here. The server let us dine in even though he was closing in an hour. We sat outside to enjoy the afternoon weather. It was too dark inside with no lighting besides the sun. Parking lot is small. Next door is another restaurant and a hair salon. Upstairs is a doctor’s office. I couldn’t decide what I wanted. I got a sandwich from another customer’s recommendation. He said the chef makes good sandwiches. I didn’t realize the turkey avocado BLT was a triple layer. It came with soup or salad, so I had the chicken wild rice. The soup was greasy and tasted like the canned Progresso ones. I don’t think I’d come back for this particular sandwich. Maybe their breakfast choices are better. Laura’s breakfast burrito was stuffed! She liked that it wasn’t a flour tortilla. She also liked that the ingredients tasted fresh. She got a side of fruit. We both were able to finish our food, so their portions are pretty good sized. Not too much food and not too little, good for a café. The server is a good barista. I enjoyed my espresso drink. Worst thing about this place: The. flies. were. so. annoying. They were fat flies — probably mooching off of everything Café Milan serves. They were plentiful — we were shooing away one every three seconds. Make the flies go away!

Disliked the location, it’s in a small plaza-like area in the corner of Culver Blvd. It was a bit hard to find. The cashier who rang us up was kinda sassy and a bit intrusive, he even pointed out that I was late to meet my friends… Okay? Thanks, like that’s any of your business. But, you know what– I brushed it off because poor guy was working in an oven! He was probably flustered & upset that he had to work on a Saturday inside that non-ventilated establishment. (Yes, we had to eat outside!) It’s an «order and pay at the register café», so a waiter takes your meal to your table. The waiter was deff nicer than the cashier. Now for the food, I had a breakfast croissant and that was delicious. No complaints there. Their blended vanilla coffee was perfectly sweet. Friends had a salad & smoked salmon sandwich– they had no complaints so, I suppose the food is Ok. Don’t think I will be returning though.

The eggs Benedict with salmon was perfect! Not too salty and consistency of the sauce was so creamy! The lady knew how to pick her fruits as well. The strawberries were ripe and the fresh orange was so sweet! I loved how it was so homey. Regulars can leave their coffee mugs there for future use! Only complaint was the blueberry scone was a bit dry. Would definitely come back here for breakfast!

Love the beach atmosphere here!!!. Great healthy breakfast after a morning run! I was most impressed with the amazing neighborhood feel. Diners came with their dogs to enjoy some coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice(def recommend getting the juice!!) Honestly this is the perfect way to get away from the city life. Very nice and relaxing. Best of all it was wonderful to be greeted with genuine smiles. Such a warming neighborhood feel… Even regulars can store their coffee mugs at the restaurant to help it feel more like home. Love it! I ordered the smoked salmon omelette which was a little too salty for my liking. My boyfriend ordered the salmon egg Benedict which was pppppppeeerrfect!

Fresh off the plane, my first instinct was, ‘I’m hungry!’ So I jumped on my handy dandy Unilocal app and began my search! Café Milan came up and didn’t seem that far from where we were. When we got there, no parking available in the front, so we ended up parking by the residential area. This café was not far from the beach at all so that was kind of nice. You can pick seating inside and outside the café. Of course after being in a plane for so many house, I chose to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air. The Grub. [[ CALIFORNIAOMELETTE $ 8.50 ]] This omelette is filled with spinach, mushrooms, onions, cheese and avocados! YUM! It also comes with two slices of bread(white, wheat, rye, sourdough) and your choice of roasted potatoes or fresh fruit! This was super good and definitely hit the spot after a long flight from Hawaii~!

Looking for a quick brunch place while waiting for a flight? This situation happened to us this morning, and Café Milan was a hit(and only a few miles from LAX)! Parking: There is a small parking lot right in front, and we were able to park and watch our luggage in the car, while sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather. Food: I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito with potatoes on the side, and the rest of us got the Huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, and onion bagel sandwich with cream cheese. Everything was delicious! My burrito even came with avocado inside, and it tasted great. I also had half of my bf’s bagel, and it was probably the best bagel I have ever had… toasted on the outside and chewy on the inside with just the right amount of cream cheese in the middle. He said that it tasted homemade, and I agree. Even the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict tasted homemade. I expected the potatoes to be lackluster since they were a side(and looked a little burned), but they were crispy and cooked just right. Prices were fair, and it was the perfect place to grab good food and a quick bite. Excellent, and would come back if in the area!

Luckily, Café Milan has a decent sized parking lot for you if you decide to come here for breakfast/brunch. There is plenty of patio seating so I suggest you capitalize on the nice breeze from the ocean. The service is pretty slow. When you order at the register, you don’t get a number/receipt so how are they supposed to know what you ordered? There was one instance where one of the employees came up to us and asked if we ordered the frappuccino he was holding… For food, I got the sausage, ham and egg omelet with 2 pieces of toast and fruit. I thought the omelet was pretty standard, nothing too spectacular. The toast was pretty bad on the other hand. It didn’t come out hot/warm and the butter couldn’t even melt on my toast. My friend ordered the grilled chicken wrap and we were impressed with the portion size at first. There was plenty of chicken inside the wrap but it was d-r-y. No sauce to compliment the wrap and there were barely any avocados. There is a nice ambiance to this place with decent food. Bonus would be the parking lot.

Secret little spot in Playa del Rey. I like that you can bring your pooch and eat with them in the patio. That’s pretty cool. On to the food. I did what everyone else recommended and got their breakfast burrito. It was great. And it wasn’t one of those burritos where they put too much cheese in it. It was the delicious kind. We also ordered their croissant sandwich. That was good too. The croissant was nice and buttery. This is a great spot. I will be back. I’m excited about trying other things on their menu. Parking: they have their own parking lot shared with a bunch of other stores. There was plenty of parking when we went, but that was a nice rainy day. It probably gets more packed on a regular sunny weekend.

This review pertains to their breakfast only Every time my gf and I visit LA we stay in Playa Del Rey, and we always come back to this place for a hearty breakfast. Having been here twice I have to say their consistency with their food is top notch. Most recently when we visited I ordered a California omelette with orange juice and my girlfriend ordered an egg white omelette with basil, tomato and garlic with an iced coffee. The California omelette contains mushrooms, onions, spinach and cheese topped with avocados. For their omelette’s you get a choice of potatoes or fruits and wheat, white, or sourdough toast. I went for the potatoes and wheat toast. You get a lot of food and it is definitely worth every penny. The omelette is cooked to perfection and every bite tastes better and better. Their avocados are also very fresh. I am from VA so I guess by the time the avocados get there it loses some freshness. My gf also thoroughly enjoyed her food. I have to say the amount of iced coffee they give you is pretty large compared to most other places. Although it is large it is very good. Now as far as the ambiance of this place goes, it seems like a lot of the people who visit this establishment are frequent guests. Everyone knew each other and this made it feel very«homey». They have a good amount of seating inside and outside. If I was Cali local and lived nearby I would frequent this place often too. Stop by for some breakfast and you will not be disappointed.
