I love Firehouse Subs, but the quality control at this store is pathetic. Placed an online order which I discovered was wrong. Missing items, and incorrectly prepared. How hard is it? Also — to the owner of this franchise: Teach your employees some interpersonal skills. All three seemed genuinely disgusted to work here, and each possessed the personality of a dial tone.

I’ve had two sandwiches, the meat ball sub and an Italian. They are at the top of Sub chains, only Delaware’s Capriotti’s is better [one downtown Dallas and one in west Plano, both 15 miles or more]. Good value, better bread that other chains use I think. I always get to go, so the ambiance isn’t relevant. I drive by many other places with similar menus to get to Firehouse.

If I owned this franchise I would work on training the staff to be much more attentive. Waited 15 minutes for 2 subs. They were good but the kids making them couldn’t have cared less. Two standing around watching he other two make sandwiches while 8 to 10 people waited for their food. Plus the place was a mess. Firehouse should take notes from Jimmy Johns.

First time going here. Very impressed with how fresh the food was. Had the medium hook and ladder meal combo. Good amount of meat and condiments. Bread was light and fresh. Staff welcomed us when we entered and thanked us when we left. Will definitely go back.

This place is awful. The cost of the subs is much more than the quality, which, was awful. The meat is undercooked and the bread is too soggy. The sandwiches fall apart as soon as you pick them. The sandwiches take forever to make. I only gave one star because I couldn’t give zero. Never go here

I love the soda machine. I can get all different types of «pop» with flavored syrup. I love a good Cherry Dr. Pepper any day! But this is just not my style of food. Nothing on the menu really appeals to me. I’m not compelled to go back and eat anything again.(Disclaimer– among other idiosyncrasies, I’m mostly vegetarian.) Anyway, the other alarming aspect of my visit is the average SIZE of all the customers. I feel like when you look around and everyone is super-sized, it’s not a good place to be eating. But hey, if you’re into all that, it was clean, the service was great and the people I was with loved their food. And FHS has been very generous in the donation of their pickle buckets for the City of Plano’s food composting education program.

Once I went the first time I was hooked. I have been a long subway fan for about 10 years but now firehouse beats them hands down. The meatball sub is too die for I literally could eat it all week. The food is fresh and great service.

I looooove Firehouse Subs. I’d never been here before, but the boyfriend had and suggested we go. I got their classic«Hook and Ladder» and drooooooooool it is so good. That’s all I’ve gotten whenever I come back. The service is always friendly and the food is always delicious. The only things that keeps this from being a 5-star review is that there are very few locations, so we have to drive a bit out of the way to get here. Open more locations! I’ll eat there! mmmmmm Hook and Ladder. The ham is juuuuuust sweet enough. Magic!

The first time I went to Firehouse I thought the bread was a bit soggy. I gave them 2 more chances and each time I got a soggy sub. Not going back to Soggyhouse.

Had a chicken salad sub and it seem a bit bland. May see next time if a different sub may taste better.

I went there a couple weeks ago, passed several other sandwich shops along the way, and had the worst Philly cheesesteak(or beef and cheese, whatever they call it). The meat and cheese was room temperature combined with too much mayo made it disgusting. I spit it out threw it away and watched my wife eat her sandwich.

Great subs, but what makes this place special was the great staff. When we walk in everyone is friendly and really cares about providing good customer service.

They put potbellys to shame! I went there for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Great sandwiches and I love all the hot sauces. The staff is very friendly. They are going to be our new«go to» sandwich spot.

This was our lunch stop today. I had the Italian, no onion. Great sandwich and customer service!

Been to a Firehouse Subs before, so I knew what to expect. Ordered a few sandwiches for the group I had waiting. They delivered very well. The Steamer sub ended up sitting a bit before it was eaten… and as happens with steam, it was a bit soggy, but that wasn’t FH Subs fault. Meatball sub was very good. As was the tuna, which has a small spice kick. Got 3 of 4 recommendations, and of course my sub(was the meatball) was excellent. So since I’m writing the review… ;) I’ll be back soon.

Firehouse has been my favorite chain sub shop since my college days in Florida. I take pride in the fact that I have tried every sub on the menu at least once, and every one of them is a winner! The bread is always soft, the meats are always stacked high, the cheese is always melted to perfection and the toppings are always fresh! I really can’t say enough about my love for Firehouse so I’ll stop now before it gets outrageous. But on a final note I will say that their Cherry Lime-ade, although painfully sweet, is worth a try!

For me walking into a sandwich shop and ordering for my family of 6 is akin to stabbing myself with an icepick repeatedly. Which is why I’m a big fan of online ordering. This afternoon we ordered via the web a yummy meal of sandwhiches for our kids and two hot sandwhiches and bowls of chili for my wife and I. The ordering process was simple, and after a bit of my wait drove down and picked up my order. They had it packed in a box and ready to go, and even remembered the napkins! Quick and easy, and yummy too. First time I’ve tried the chili, a bit greasy, but mmmm. Good! online FTW.

The first thing you notice when you walk into Firehouse Subs is the smell. The second is the smoke. It almost felt like walking into a bar, with cigarette smoke making the view toward the back of the room hazy. Except this smoke smells a million times better than cigarette smoke. It smells like meat. My favorite. Firehouse Subs claims their subs are better because they steam the meat. And steam they do. I’ll have to test that theory on another visit because this go ’round I had my eye on the Sweet & Spicy Meatball Sub(limited time offer, according to the website). Holy shit was this was a good sub. The meatballs were true Italian meatballs — no ground chuck rolled into a ball here, folks — and the sub was loaded with them. The marinara sauce was indeed sweet — with a hint of BBQ flavor — with generous chunks of bell pepper and chili pepper throughout the sauce and crushed red pepper flakes sprinkled on top. The provolone cheese melted perfectly to the crunchy bread, which stayed crunchy as the bottom went soft from the sauce. Very important blending of textures there. My absolute favorite thing about this sub is the fact that when I opened the Styrofoam container(that gets a star all by itself, you can’t serve a meatball sub wrapped in deli paper) I found a fork and knife nestled next to my sub. Nice. This is not a sub to be eaten with your hands and the kind folks at Firehouse Subs realize that. I didn’t find my pickle spear until I’d eaten half the sub because it was hidden behind the deli paper. But that didn’t distract me one bit. In fact, when I found my pickle, I realized that I’d forgotten to grab a bag of chips. Turns out that was a good move. I was so full when I finished the sub that chips would have just added insult to injury. Add my bad ass $ 7 lunch combo to the fact that Firehouse Subs runs The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to assist firefighters in all kinds of financial ways and you’ve got a 5 star joint in my book.
