My wife and I would appreciate it if you didn’t shop at this store. Because if you do there might not be enough great stuff left for us! My first visit was a few days ago, and we bought several tings to try. A steak, some lamb shanks and a few other things. As an afterthought we bought a package of bacon to try. Holy moly! Best bacon ever. Period. Great soft texture and flavor, and it didn’t shrink up to nothing like some brands. We got the«regular» cut which was plenty thick enough… about what thick cut would be in the supermarkets. We’re told that they make their own bacon. Last night we cooked two of their bone-in rib pork chops. Yow. tons of flavor, as good or better than at my favorite restaurant. The chops were super tender, too. Very sweet. We’re hooked. We live«down the hill» but will be making regular visits to Archer’s for our meat needs, and we’re anxious to try some of their other offerings. The lady who helped us was friendly and went out of her way to find what we wanted. If it’s not in the front of the store, chances are they have some in the back. Prices? Well we walked out of there with ninety dollars worth of meat in one bag, but when we figured it all out we were getting a total of twelve to fourteen servings for that price. So in my mind that makes the cost very reasonable when you know you’re getting the best. No hormones or antibiotics in any of their meat… a good thing in my opinion.

DISHONESTBUSSINESS… Well Went to get a Marinated Tri Tip and bought a 4Lb Tri Tip get it Home and took it out of Package the Tri Tip was no more than 2lbs… so I called Archers and asked if they weighed it with the Marinade in the Package they said Yes… so your not getting the Weight it Says on the Package… i would say go somewhere else… Not Happy with Archers anymore…40 Dollars for a 2Lb Marinated Tri Tip labeled as 4lbs. Shows the Owners are trying to make as much Money from the Customers as they can. Dishonest Bussiness

Ahhhhhhh I feel so bad giving 3 stars, because I wanted to love this place. We moved nearby and I had to try it. The variety was great, and the prices weren’t too bad. The customer service was unparalleled. All of these things should speak wonders about the spot, because. … My fiancé and I got food poisoning. Ouch. Yuck. I didn’t get it too bad, but she was in bed(and the bathroom) for a day and a half after eating sandwiches from Archers. I’m thinking the cooked meat and raw meat must’ve come in contact with each other at their location, or the meat was bad, one or the other. 3 stars is still a lot, considering. I’d like to try it again sometime, but it may take some time to get that taste outta our mouths.

Very nice people. The meat is amazing and better tasting than the grocery stores and more cost effective. I saved $ 4.00 per pound on sliced roast beef and the quality is so much higher than the grocery store.

We recently relocated from Southern California and were looking for a local butcher shop. We stumbled across Archer’s and purchased their ‘BBQ Pack’ as a sample. Very impressed with the quality and price. We have been unable to locate Porterhouse steaks nearby but they had them at Archer’s. Staff were very helpful. Only downside– no one up here knows what Chorizo is which is not specific to Archer’s.

The Meat is much better than grocery store hands down. I tried a package first and everything was great. I get my hamburger meat, bacon, chicken weekly now and it all is good. I also always get a sandwich as the Deli makes really fresh big sandwiches.

Heard a lot about this place. I’ve been here 3 years ago and couldn’t recall the place. The staff was very friendly. The meat content on the sandwich was good. However, the bread was not very good. Otherwise, I would of gave them 4 stars.

The employees here are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of all natural meats and even some seafood. Prices even beat the supermarket when it comes to all natural meats. I will be shopping here quite often.

I grew up on a small farm where we raised our own animals for meat. Our town had a local family run butcher shop which cut and packaged all our meats– they’d do anything in any style you wanted– cows, pigs, deer, elk, birds… no problem. When I left that town I had never found another butcher shop quite like it– I think Archer’s might be exactly that kind of place. I can’t speak for their sandwiches(yet) — but as far as their other meats go the place seems nothing short of pure awesome. Unfortunately for my arteries I’m a bacon lover. Archer’s bacon is excellent. Get the thick sliced, fry it up slowly so it cooks through and enjoy what real bacon should taste like– meaty, thick, well smoked. None of that paper thin fried fat that you get from the supermarket. The sweet Italian sausage also had a great flavor. I eat it plain and mixed it into lasagna– was the best Italian sausage I’ve bought in ages. Elk Salami? No problem– as a matter of fact they had a cooler full of odd meat choices to try out. Best way to try out elk or deer without having to go out hunting. In the world of super markets it’s hard to find a genuine local butcher out there that can cut meat the way you like it and give you a real quality product. I believe Archer’s is a gem that is well worth the short jaunt off US50 to pick up a quality product. Thanks Archer’s! I’ll be back for more bacon soon!

My son’s and I hunt or raise all of the meat our family consumes. Whenever we have game we want processed for a special occasion, we take our game to Archer. He makes amazing salami and his smoked meat has a flavor we prefer over any other butcher we’ve found. Our tastes in this area of the food pyramid are discerning; we don’t do grocery store meat. Since they added the deli, it’s a treat for us to take our meat there. We try to time the drop off so we can hit the deli for lunch. It’s always wonderful. Don’t go in expecting Togo’s, Subway, or a grocery store deli. It’s an old school butcher shop. My venison is probably hanging in the back freezer. Some kid’s 4-H hog is in the smoker. Most Californians have probably never experienced a place like this unless they’ve lived in a small village in Europe. However there will be a lot less pork and a lot more bison at Archers!

One of the best sandwiches in the area. The meats are outstanding, although pricey. You get what you pay for fresh meat butchered in the back. Also have wild game in the freezer elk, venison, buffalo, etc. The bratwurst are the BEST I have had outside of Germany wow! Great staff always friendly

went here for lunch today and had their new lettuce wrap. I choose roast beef, ham with pepper jack cheese. It also had red onions, and tomatoes. It was delicious!!! I will be back for sure.

Hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Every time I’m up that way I have to stop and get a sandwich there! Fresh cut lunchmeat piled on and all the fixins! I love coming in to see all the custom cut meat as well and some of the extras like individually packed desserts or alligator meat. The staff is always very friendly and helpful!

This butcher shop is fantastic, and an easy 15 minute(at most) drive from El Dorado Hills. While EDH has several excellent supermarkets, in my experience you rarely find high quality meat. Archer’s solves this problem with an extensive selection of meats, including less common varieties like bison(ground and steaks), venison and elk. And I’ve found their prices are as good as, or better than, our local grocery outlets. I fully agree with the other reviews regarding their sandwiches, high quality and large. Their staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
