Shrimp cocktail was great for lunch but the bartenders or drink recipes should be fired! First I ordered a top shelf margarita which was in a large tumbler and tasted like lemonade and then gave up half way through that and thought I would try a Long Island iced tea and again it was served in a large tumbler, way too sweet and neither drink had any liquor. I would rather have a smaller drink with more liquor(body) than the size of the glass. So if you want weak drinks with a view this is the place for you!

Best bar ever with the best view of the pier and ocean. Loved the steamed claims and street tacos. Yum. The bartenders were awesome, especially Mr. Down under. Made a great date day.

I was really impressed! Being a south county native it’s time Pismo steps it up a bit. I honestly felt like I was in a beach town down south for a bit. Nice outdoor seating and glassed in patio to protect from the wind. Good food, good prices. Will be back for sure!

The most expensive thing on the menu is like $ 13. Drinks are reasonable considering the area. Large outdoor seating option with no wait on a holiday weekend, and best of all, THEVIEW.

The food is decent, but portions are small. The food came out fast, but it wasn’t special. Several of us were still hungry after eating out meals. Seems like a missed opportunity for such a great location. Lots of wasted space in this place. The girl taking orders seemed annoyed we were there at 7:45pm. Shortly after 8pm, an employee walked through the dining room yelling«last call for food». Followed by the bartender calling last call shortly after. This was a Wednesday night before New Year’s Eve. We had just left Figueroa Mountain due to an hour wait to be seated. Wooleys couldn’t wait to close the doors, while other establishments were busy. Not in any hurry to go back. In response to the owners response. I ordered the fish and chips. I understand you need to operate the hours that are best for you. It’s unfortunate that downtown Pismo seems to cater to the tourists. I was hoping that Wooleys would want to cater to the locals as well. I will be hard pressed to go to the pier area for any type of dining. It just seems with the location and space that Wooleys has,(not to mention what the rent must be) you could have a draw like other local establishments that are not in the core pier area. Unfortunately, it’s all for the tourists now…

I waited a long time for Wooly’s to open and was a little disappointed. The place itself is pretty awesome with an open bar comsept. I’m not thrilled about having to order at counter and they lack waitresses to get drinks from bar. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was pretyy good and the Garlic Parmesan Fries. The fries were okay with a lot of the fires beeing undercooked(almost raw).

Great atmosphere and view. Albacore sandwich and fish and chips were great. portion size on fish and chips was skimpy but tasted yummy for what you did get. Although service was friendly because of the casual walk up and order style there isn’t much table service. Would have liked someone offering to refill drinks such as soda and water. Even asking ‘hey how is everything’ I would go back for a beer or so and hang out at the bar next time.

Nice place, great outdoor seating. However there is no waitress seating and the price of their food is extremely high. Was going to order fish but they dont serve french fries with the fish just curly fries.

The old Pierside has been transformed into Wooly’s –finally! We had been stopping by the Pierside with our little dog Sydney for years. Wooly’s still has the great views, is dog friendly, and has an improved selection of beer(really like the Sculpin IPA). We’ve been to Wooly’s three times so far, once in December and twice this week. In December we stopped by at about 2:00PM and ordered beer and a side of curly fries($ 5, small, and ordinary, Come on Thomas L. potatoes are cheap). We stopped by again on a chilly Friday night to start MLK weekend(hey Thom, how about some space heaters). Z. ordered the Asian shrimp tacos, I had the Baja fish tacos, and of course more beer. The tacos came three each, were enough for a small meal, and both were really good. We stopped again on the following Sunday afternoon and ordered a bloody Mary(pretty standard) and a Kona Longboard(nice and cold). When you go to Wooly’s, grab a table first, your server will be there promptly(drinks only), then go inside and order your food. Some patrons are very aggressive with table selection, some even camping out at an inferior table then moving up to a better table when one becomes available. The meek shall not inherit the best table! Wooly’s has great views, a boisterous atmosphere and prompt friendly service. It’s a little pricey but hey, you’re paying for those great views.

Casual, relaxing and a beautiful view with a nice cold beer and good finger licking food. Especially during the sunset and the high crashing wave. I would love to come here every now and than for the weekend and vacation to relax. Great places to hang out with family and friends and enjoying the view.

Great location near the pier! They allow dogs on their patio and even offered water. Food was good for the price and service was fast. The tip our server gave us was to grab a table then order. I’m all about service. The food was pretty good. Fish and chips were light and crispy served with curly fries. We each had a bowl of chowder in a bread bowl. While I wasn’t completely wow’d, I wasn’t disappointed at all. Quick and friendly service along with pet-friendly — had to give them 5 stars!

It is difficult to make food that has this little amount of flavor. While the décor is nice, it is grossly overpriced for food that tastes like cardboard. Even the beer was flat. This is not waitress service by the way. You order your food from a counter and they bring it t your table. Do not waste your money here, eat elsewhere

Place is amazing with the vinegarette looking out into the ocean! My wife had the fish and chips… That was amazing with not too much batter. I had the albacore tuna rare sandwich with Wasabi amazing. Finally I highly suggest the steam clams. The broth was in a garlic lemon base and it comes with garlic bread. Clams tasted fresh. Fantastic. Great place to see the sunset and walk on the pier. Been to Monterey and Santa Cruz and you cannot get fish like this. Maybe clam chowder but not delicious fish we will come back!

The view is gorgeous, the food is great, and the service is fast! My dad ordered the angus burger and I got the tuna in tostada form. SOGOOD. Take the time to stop by this place. Same owners as Ventana Grill, so that should speak for itself. Great, quality, budget-friendly menu ;)

We finally had chance to check out Wooly’s… First impression is a big«Wow!» Nice large two sided indoor/outdoor bar… The view is, of course, amazing. Inside is a large TV for sports. I like the walk up and order set up. My tempura fish sandwich was very good. The caramelized onions added to the flavor. My wife loved her bacon cheeseburger. We also ordered parmesan garlic fries which were great and we shared a cup of clam chowder, which unlike Splash, actually had an abundance of clams. The price for the fish sandwich was $ 10…fries are not included… We returned a couple of days later and I once again ordered the fish sandwich. This time, there was no caramelized onions on it and our order of fries was extremely skimpy. A bit inconsistent but still good. Docked a star for one reason… Outside seating is extremely dog friendly, to the point of annoyance for patrons without dogs. We initially sat between a couple with two huge dogs and a woman with a dog that wouldn’t stop barking. I know some people feel entitled to bring their«fur babies» everywhere, but it ruins the dining experience for others. We eventually moved inside.

We were wandering around trying to find a place to eat and stumbled across this place. It has a nice patio with a great view of the pier and the ocean. We tried the Carne Asada fries, black angus burger and Wooly’s tuna salad. They even sold alcohol! The food was delicious. I will definitely come back again the next time I’m in town.

Honestly, we did not have the greatest expectations for this place. We checked in month after month to find that there was always some kind of set back to their opening. Really, though, how could you not be anxiously anticipating the opening of one of the GREATEST locations for a restaurant in Pismo? Not to compare it to the last place but we hoped it would be completely opposite. Finally we got to check it out and we were glad to find that it was!!! It is different– You walk up to the counter to order then take a seat with a GPS tracker so that they can bring you your food… if this keeps the cost of the food down than ok. But if you want a drink you need to go to the bar and do that separately. Kind of confusing because at times(but not consistently) the servers come around and ask if they«can get you anything?»(Yes!!! You can take my order and then bring it to me?) for the BEST view in Pismo GO!!! Especially in December when the Christmas Tree is lit up on the pier! I recently heard they are expecting to get heaters on the patio which would change the whole expirence on the chilly evenings! The food has been PERFECT. We have had everything from the nachos to the tacos to the fish & chips & my mom loved the Clam Chowder. Everything has been awesome. I honestly cannot say that I would change anything about the menu or the food that we ordered. Happy all around! Go for the View & the food… You will not be disappointed.

Love the new downstairs patio restaurant! Superb views, cold beer, and good food. I had the carnitas tacos and went back two days later for more. Wife had the fish and chips which were also good. I hope these folks can make it here. Great additions to the Pismo community!

Great location. Therefore 2 stars. Unfortunately, everything else was sub-par. Bloody mary: not good, no flavor. French fries: stone cold on arrival. Taco salad: shell was good, everything else was flavorless — ground beef, guacamole, dressing. Fish & chips: flavorless. Asked for vinegar, got vinaigrette. Pretty expensive for the quality. Bottom line: I would recommend just getting beer.

The clam chowder is good. Not as good as Splash but it is very good. My husband ordered the Chicken Strips and fries. Chicken strips were AWFUL! They look and taste like they were frozen out of the box. I took a bite(and I am less picky) and they were exactly what my husband had said. The fries however were delicious. We’ll be back to try other things but let’s work on those Chicken strips Woolys.
