Stopped by the other day and ordered the Capricia and the cheddar beer dip. It was almost 7pm so the woman working was already open 2 hours past closing. She was still trying to fill orders and was working all by herself! The chips were crisp but not overcooked with a nice amount of parmesan and fresh basil. They probably could’ve used a touch more salt, but that is a personal preference. The cheddar beer dip was AMAZING. It really did taste strongly of beer but was nice and creamy. It went really well with the chips(all complaints about salt levels were gone once the chips were dipped in this sauce) and it was nice that you get one free dip with a small order of chips! Would come back if I’m in the area craving chips.

Deliciously fresh tuna sandwich along with a crunch side of chips. Not a big fan of the chips but these were done tastefully with the right flavoring. Definitely a stop over for future visits to the beach To the Chipwrecked team — You go gals!!!

Stopped in for some homemade chips we’ve heard about. The poor girl working there by herself was taking orders, cooking, and serving the food. The wait was kind of long, but it was totally acceptable, due to the fact she was working all by herself! She was rocking it behind the counter, and in the prep area! The chips were awesome as well as the tri-tip sandwich my wife and I had.

gourmet sandwiches is an understatement. These sandwiches pack a serious amount of taste. this is NOTFASTFOOD therefore prepare yourself for wait time, take a magazine, a cuddle buddy or a book while you await the deliciousness

I’m sad because unfortunately we will probably never go back. Positives 1st — Buffalo Chk Salad was very, very, very good, the right amount of spice. I had it over mixed greens instead of romaine. Wonderful! The owner is super friendly and replaced our chips when we mentioned they were burnt, which were then really really good like we remembered them from a previous trip. The Mushroom sandwich was extremely tasty as well. Negatives — Mushroom sand. was lacking mushrooms, would have liked it to have more mushrooms for the price, but like I said was still very tasty. The chips were so overcooked, they tasted bad and were so hard I was worried I might hurt a tooth. The owner came out and asked how everything was(probably because we ate all our food and no chips). So we were honest and her response is what caught us off guard. She knew! She said that about one month out of the year they struggle with their chips because each box of potatoes is different. She insisted it wasn’t the fry time or temp. I mean these things were visibly inedible and she served them to us anyway. The people at the next table were talking about how horrible theirs were as well, but they didn’t say anything to the owner. She said she just fried a new batch and we could try those. We did and they were great. I gave you decent stars because you did make it right and our meal was good, but like I said, that was most likely our last visit. I feel bad because the rent is probably so high and small businesses have to fight so hard to survive in this area. I assume it makes it hard to choose tossing a batch that you accidentally over fried. That is the only thing that makes sense to me why you chose to serve them like that.

Freaken delicious! OMG still can’t get over how good this place is. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 additional chips. Favorite was the whipped cream, powered sugar and strawberries chips. Get ready for a long wait because everything is made fresh. That’s what makes it good. Such a great idea and wonderful flavors. Definitely have to stop here every time. It’s THAT good.

Surprisingly, overhyped… or we waited too long & expected too much. It was a great concept but not worth the wait, waited probably 20 mins for two chipwreckeds. Got the dark chocolate bacon and the Parmasean truffle which tasted pretty good. I appreciate the hard work put into it but to be honest it was like eating kettle chips with simple toppings. If you put crab meat or other sufficient protein on there, you might have a winner.(:

We ventured forth to Pismo have lunch here. This is basically a very small two table restaurant. We ordered the tri-tip sandwich with the salted potato chips. The sandwich was very unremarkable. With the cheese and salsa topping the flavor tasted like a Parmesan hero. The meat was okay and the chips were okay. Just an okay lunch.

It is a great place to go if you love potato chips. Period. Drop mic This place runs and thrives on potato chips. We ordered a soup, sandwich and salad. I thought the chips took the crown closely followed by the sandwich. This is a small outlet. So, if you are a group of 6 or larger, you may want to think about doing a take out.

We tried Chipwrecked and it is delicious. It’s a quaint spot close to the boardwalk and worth the walk up if you’re completing if you should. The sandwiches are cleverly named and talently created. I had the buffalo and couldn’t get enough of the delicious sauce. The bread had just the right amount of crunch, the layers of flavor complimented one another. I was a satisfied finger-lickin mess. I tried saving my other half for dinner but about 30 minutes after getting home, I couldn’t resist the other half. The chips are def on another level of amazing. I’m not a chip eater, won’t find them in my cupboard but seriously these are like nothing else I’ve tried. I did t get anything special just on the side w sea salt and French onion dip. But do yourself a favor skip the dip. My husband had the Ruben and he equally loved his. He offered me a bite but I didn’t, as I wanted to savor the flavor of my delicious sandwich. Note to all, this is a beach community and the vibe is very laid back. So leave the rush at home and be ready to enjoy the r&r you came to find. If you’re really in a bind, call in your order.

I really appreciate that they have three veggie sandwiches, salads, and a kid’s menu. I didn’t order a veggie sandwich this time around, but I tend to enjoy having a variety of options for my sandwiches. My daughter is a vegetarian and sometimes it’s hard to find a place for her to eat because of their limited menu. Today, I ordered the BLT and kid’s grilled cheese. I heard about this place from a friend who tried it for lunch. I went by and didn’t really know what to expect. The girl behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. She explained the different sandwiches and how everything worked. My order was to go. I only had to walk across the street to the bowling alley so the food was still hot and fresh. The sandwiches were good. The chips were freshly made. I had the extra chipotle side. I’ll definitely come to this place again if we’re in the neighborhood. Tip: It is a small location and has limited seating. Expect to take it to go if it gets busy.

I wish I could give Chipwrecked more than five stars. It is by far one of my favorite restaurants EVER! The owners are friendly, helpful, super talented and they always remember our faces when we come back(once or twice a year) which is more than I can say for any other restaurant that I frequent. This is a restaurant unlike any other that I have ever eaten at. Their main focus is… you guessed it– homemade CHIPS! You can order a sandwich or salad with a side of regular salted chips, or you can upgrade to try some of their fancier chips. They also have dipping sauces called tugboats to compliment your chips, depending on what kind of chips you happen to get! My favorite chips are the Asahi Maru(bleu cheese, green onion, and teriyaki sauce– I know it sounds weird, but you have to try it!), the Jolly Roger(birthday chips– omg yum), strawberry shortcake(these are seasonal), the conquistador(spicy chips with jalapeño, cilantro, and cotija cheese), the Mary Rose(lavender, honey, and goat cheese), and La Belle(truffle and Parmesan). So basically almost all of them LOL! I have said it once and I’ll say it again– they really know their flavors. For example, I NEVER would have thought to add a hint of truffle oil and red onion to an egg salad sandwich. But honestly, it was the best egg salad I’ve ever had in my life. The quality of their food is also phenomenal. This may sound cheesy, but the best food is food made with love and care, and Chipwrecked has that covered. Each time we come in they are debuting a new chip invention and we are always eager to try what they’ve come up with. Please support your local businesses and come eat at Chipwrecked! :)

I love this place. We stumbled upon this place when they first opened and fell in love. We absolutely love the owners and their outlook on their food. If they have the ingredients, they can make just about anything you’d like. I have seen some bad reviews or issues on Unilocal, but just about all of these issues could have been resolved by speaking with the owner. They are beyond helpful. Yes, the place is small. The menu is a little daunting at first. But if you find yourself here looking for something different than what you’d find on a beach, do yourself a favor. Come here, relax, and enjoy something you have for many years in a different way.

After a wonderful stop at Splash Café for chowder and seafood, we thought Chipwrecked would be a nice next stop. The idea of freshly deep fried chips seasoned with a variety of great flavors sounded too good to pass up. It’s a cute store front with a easy to read menu focusing on sandwiches, their handfried chips, and a variety of dips to eat with those chips. There’s a great fridge with half liter bottles of soda(so large!) from Mexico that is the perfect companion to your hand fried chips. But there in comes the first problem. We placed our order, got our soda, and waited. And waited. We went at off peak times and there was only one person ahead of us, but the wait was very very long. I seriously thought we’d be able to order and go on our way. After what seemed like an excessive wait, we checked on our order and they were almost ready. By the time our order had been packed and we were ready to go, almost 50 minutes had passed. I love the idea of fresh fried chips, but that’s a long time. The sad part is that the chips though freshly hand fried were not as good as kettle chips. The truffle was almost imperceptible and there was only a scant amount of parmesan. Perhaps we should have tried a more bold flavor combo. The dips were ok, but I thought the beer and cheese tasted a bit odd. I did like the truffle hummus, though again, pretty mild truffle flavor. Overall, I liked the concept, the storefront, the friendly service and the glass bottles of soda pop, but the chips were quite as I expected. I see a lot of reviews touting their sandwiches, so the combo with chips may be the way to go. Hopefully, they can work on their food prep times or at least share times as patrons wait patiently. Chipwrecked accepts credit cards, including Amex.

I hadn’t known that it was possible to have a meal of potato chips but this mom and pop endeavor takes the potato chip to a whole other level! Gourmet potato chip lovers –this is a must do! Lots of flavors and dips to pick from, as well as other menu offerings, and plenty of good drink options… different and fun to try… the restaurant itself is super tiny but you can take the order to go and chill at the beach if you don’t possibly sharing with the seagulls. ahoy!

I was looking for a sandwich place for lunch and Chipwrecked came up in a Unilocal search… we went because it looked like a unique idea. The turkey sandwich was just OK and I wouldn’t really recommend going here for a full meal. The chips are, of course, the highlight. We got a sampler of three chip varieties plus our sandwich came with chips… way too much for two people but we wanted to try as many as possible. Luckily the chips are still crisp and tasty a day later. We got the birthday cake chips, the chocolate and caramel chips, the BBQ flavor, and the plain salted. The sweet types were a pleasant surprise and went well with the cheesecake flavored tugboat dipping sauce. The BBQ and plain chips were good but I didn’t think the tugboats served them well… we got ranch, salsa, and beer & cheddar. I preferred to eat the savory chips without sauces. Overall a neat idea and recommended if you’re just looking for a snack. 3.5 stars

AMAZED. Thank you food/yelp gods for bringing us to this gem!!! To some the concept of dressed up potato chips may not be appealing, but trust me this is not your average potato chip, and if you just aren’t a fan of potato chips then the sandwiches are just as yummy! I originally thought the chips would just be topped with different seasonings, I was very wrong! They used really fresh ingredients and don’t lack in flavor at all! Even the bread on the sandwiches was great! We came on a family trip to Pismo and while the boys went to the sand dunes we stopped by for a quick lunch before relaxing on the beach. We decided the lines at Splash wasn’t going to work for us, so this was our second choice. Can I just say, best 2nd choice ever!!! There was 5 of us girls and we loved it so much that we later went back and picked some more up for the boys to enjoy,(safe to say the boys in our family our very loved) So we tried 3 different Vegetarian sandwiches or Ports of Call and upgraded our chips for Chipwrecked(for a small additional cost.) Port Banes — MUSTGET!!! Yeah I know Plantains don’t sound very delicious in a sandwich but please trust me it is a literal party in your mouth kind of Sammy! You won’t regret it. Thank me later ;) Port Bella Bella– probably our second fav, the portbella is so flavorful! It’s simple but delicious! Port Marseille– I love egg salad and this was the first one that caught my eye, it was yummy but def not as flavorful as the others! If you aren’t looking for an explosion of flavor this is still a great option! Now the fun stuff. Conquistador: Their most popular savory option! We loved it a lot ESP bc the spicy fresh jalapeños! Caprisia– basil, parm, and hint of lemon, also very delicious and fresh! Mary Pose– this one sounded very intriguing but we were really in the mood for sweet and the honey really stands out but if you want to try something a tad bit less sweet than the full on dessert Chipwrecked this one is for you! For the tug boats I recommend the chipotle, beer&cheese, and house made ranch! It is a small place with minimum seating, we got lucky and came during an off time but they also do a great job at packing to go for a beach picnic:) they have a very convenient window for to-go orders! Can’t say enough friendly words about all of the staff they were really sweet and accommodating, their suggestions were great and they made sure we enjoyed our food, couldn’t ask for anything more! If you’re in Pismo and Chipwrecked is open, don’t think twice and just go get«Chipwrecked» !!! =]
