I just finished a convention at this establishment and found my convention informative and good speakers ! I stayed at the premises and found for the hype not good. Let start with multiple hidden fees, I stayed one night only had time for classes had to pay a shuttle fee for what? That’s just one fee. There were others I never got explained and God forbid you ask a question? A rude response or no response. I have suggested they never use this establishment again and if they do I won’t stay here. In the meantime I will continue to find out why taxes estatamated at 34 came out to 65 $. Save yourself a headache stay elseware!

Here for business conference. We stayed in Lake View Condominiums and our unit was in bad shape. The«famous» breakfast buffet at The Carolina was very disappointing. Hot food items were cold and the selection was unimpressive for the hype given.

This is my second trip to Pinehurst and it never disappoints. Lodging is excellent, food is fabulous. The inviting feel of the southern plantation is warm and comfortable. They know how to organize an event. The BMW Tournament was exceptional and the cocktail and dinner parties were perfection. In the past I have had the privilege of experiencing Pinehurst during the Mercedes Tournament and it was also fabulous. A great Venue, if you have the opportunity to experience this southern charm and hospitality, do not pass it up. It’s worth the trip :)

The golfers play ground! Pinehurst is among the best places to stay and play golf in the US. 9 golf courses are apart of the resort. They host the USKids Teen World and World tournaments each year along with many other events from Pro, Pro Am, Senior to Junior tournaments and everything in between. The locals are friendly and really know how to show some hospitality. There are plenty of places to sleep on the resort or few other places around too. Either way, everything is very close and easy to access. My son played #8(the centinnial) golf course this year in competition. Among the toughest, besides #2, to play. The course was built in 1996 and it replaced a shooting range. Interested story behind that. Anyways, the course is Bermuda grass, very fast and hard to predict. Makes for some good competition. We love this place and hope to be back for many years to come to play all the other courses.

I’ve been coming here for years and they surprise me every time. I came here with my family for our yearly 4th of July visit to see my mother. When we checked in they upgraded us to a villa. When we walked into the villa it was huge and beautiful. Unfortunately with two kids we needed a bathtub and the deprecate sun room we usually put the baby’s crib in. We went backed and asked if they could move us to Our regular room. After a couple of minutes James came to talk to me and said he would find me the type of room I needed. He got the job done and we were very happy. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. After a long first day we ordered room service and couldn’t finish. Try the sticky wings and Carolina burger(it’s my gout cheat meal). The breakfast is just as good. Biscuits and gravy and pancakes are my go to breakfast. Staff is friendly and always say hello and will stop what they are doing to get the elevator or hold the door. Southern hospitality at its finest. My daughter has a crazy nap schedule and they always clean the room right after she’s done with her nap. Pool area and spa are just as good. All I need to do now is get interested in golf to complete the package.

After a very unhappy visit to the Ryder Cup Room for lunch, I wrote a review for Unilocal.Within a couple of weeks I heard from someone in management who made a concerted effort to answer my concerns and welcome me back(gratis) to the restaurant for dinner. This is indeed appreciated and what I had expected from a resort of this caliber. I will be happy to return(unfortunately, my sister and husband from Boston will not be able to join us) and I look forward to an excellent meal. Thank you!

This is my fourth visit and having a great time every time cannot be a coincidence. So, I write this because the resort, the staff and processes deserve praise. The golf is obviously great, but the people and services throughout the village and on the resort seem to be consistent with that if what you would expect from a world class operation!

I am writing about Pinehurst number 4 which was an original Donald Ross but has had a number of re-designs; the last of which was Tom Fazio. The course plays long from the blues at almost 6800 yards. It is a fair test of golf with fairly generous fairways, a vast amount of bunkers and some super challenging greens. You have to land the ball in the correct portion of the crowned greens to make par. There is little break for most putts until you are 3 or 4 inches from the hole. If your speed is slow the ball rolls away which in my case meant I left at least 5 shots on the course. The best part about this course is the fact that there are few houses around the course. With the exception of hole 17 you do not see any cars, roads and only a few super nice homes. At $ 120 after 3:30 this one was a deal.

I did the 3 day 3 round package. Played Pinehurst 2, 4, and 8. Awesome courses. Pinehurst #2 was the most memorable. Super hard greens. Everything was rolling off. Stayed at the Carolina. Hotel is old but is top notched. I love walking around looking at all the history. They treat me like a vip. Food was awesome too.

Bugs, bugs, bugs. If you bring enough DEET to kill a horse, then coming here would be fun. The problem is the whole place is in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by nowhere. Golf and that’s it. Pretty bad run down hotels, mediocre food, nice golf with giant bugs where ticks carry Rocky Mountain Spotted fever.

Background: I played two rounds of golf the weekend of 3÷14−3÷16(#4 on Friday, #2 on Saturday) and stayed off the property. I was a guest of a member. First, the good: The actual golf was excellent. I had a caddie for both rounds(Highly recommend Jack if you’re heading down there) and the courses were in great shape. Two customer service issues– 1) As instructed by the Pinehurst Resort website, I called the Caddie Master over a week in advance of my rounds to request a caddie. Left a message the first time that went unreturned. The next day I left another message that went unreturned. The third day I called the Golf Shop to try and get this sorted, and they assured me they could help and noted that I would be taking a caddie for both of my rounds. When I showed up at the Golf Shop to pay my greens fee on the day of my first round, they had no record of me ever requesting a caddie. Luckily they were able to provide me one, but it was annoying. If phone calls to the Caddie Master aren’t going to be returned, please take that number off your website as the way to request a caddie. 2) My tee time was 2:36pm on #4. I was a single matched with a threesome. Checked in over an hour in advance, then showed up to the first tee about 20 min before tee time and was introduced to the others I would be playing with by the starter. Once it was our turn to tee off, all of a sudden there were five of us. The threesome had their buddy show up at the last minute and now were saying the four of them were going to play and hopefully the starter would make us a fivesome. The starter said he called the golf shop and confirmed the original grouping(me plus threesome), and they had no record of the fourth even paying to play #4, let alone having the fourth spot of the 2:36pm tee time. After some deliberation, the starter, without even asking me, bumped me from my tee time in favor or the 4th member of this group who, again, had no proof he even paid for the round. I was told I had to wait until 3pm when another threesome would be teeing off. The starter never even checked receipts. This now-foursome basically just bullied him into letting them go. The four of them then proceeded to hit 7 tee shots on the first hole. I almost didn’t finish my round due to darkness. The next day when I was checking in for my round at #2, I mentioned all of this to a golf shop employee. He apologized, but didn’t offer to find out what happened and follow up with me. If there is a reasonable explanation as to why this happened, I haven’t heard it. Again, the golf was good, but I was treated poorly. As poorly as I’ve ever been treated on any golf course as a matter of fact. I play 90% of my rounds at an extremely busy municipal course in Washington DC, and have never been bumped from a tee time. I also played rounds at Pine Needles and Mid Pines that weekend, and the outstanding golf was matched by the outstanding service. It will most likely be a while before I return to the Pinehurst Resort.

I have been to pinehurst many times but had never stayed at the resort. This time i had an early meeting and decided to stay there. What a complete train wreck. They put me in a condo several miles from the resort that looks like a vintage 1970’s stage set from the brady bunch. Disgusting moldy bathrooms. Single beds. Oh well thank goodness there is a yellow electric canopener(seriously???) prominently on the counter. My advice if you were given a room here would be to leave and try the marriott courtyard. At least it is a real hotel. That venting aside — dinner in the ryder cup grill was outstanding. I also took a walk through the proshop — amazing variety of merchandise and very helpful staff. Hopefully others experience will be better but i cannot even give this one star due to the room. I will try to post pictures.

Terrible drinks! I sometimes have an OJ and vodka when I go out to dinner, this is about 3 to 4 times a month. I don’t like strong drinks so I have a little extra OJ with my vodka. I didn’t realize how weak they make the drinks or I would have just ordered OJ with vodka on the side. I think it’s just sleezy when a good resort hotel waters down the drinks.
