Dairy Queen

I’m very happy with this little in-​store, walkup counter DQ /​Orange Julius within the Walmart at 51^st Ave & W Indian School. It’s my self-​indulged reward for taking carless friend grocery shopping at this store and just makes the trip feel worthwhile and not a dreaded venture among the multitude. DQ Blizzards, Arctic Freezes, Julius drinks and smoothies, and DQ shakes, cones and sundaes are still the best, though I’ll make allowances that some of those fancy Haagen Daazy creations and higher priced gelato extravagances elsewhere have their charms as well. I should also note that staff has always been courteous and efficient, but some consistently shine on every visit with a truly friendly, welcoming smile on every occasion, and I apologize for not being able to compliment you by name.
While this tiny location doesn’t have a grill — no sandwiches other than ice cream, it does stock DQ ice cream cakes, a great treat that beats the heat and serves a good number of people. Thanks to this DQ, I actually look forward to visiting my modest dukedom!
