Went on a Saturday night and I have to say the service was horrible. We ordered drinks that took so long we had to go back to check if the bartender forgot about us(we ordered vodka waters) he looked like he was in training but that drink should not be difficult to make. We hit the service button to order some food but no one came. The waitress was just holding up the wall and only came over to pick the empty glasses of the people that left next to us. She didn’t ask if we needed anything at all. Over all, it was a horrible night and there are way better places to go where service is 10 times better. Hopefully they can diagnose the issue but I’m not holding my breath. The sad part is that this place is relatively new.

Pros: good food, awesome arcade Cons: some of the worst service I have ever experienced, anywhere. I had to ask for service for everything. Didn’t bring napkins with the food. Didn’t bring ketchup. Had to ask. And this was in the«VIP» area. I’m never going back. The manager offered a gift certificate. Told him not to bother since I’ll never be there again.

This is a fairly small bowling alley with only 14 lanes. Decent drink and food menus, mostly hamburgers and pizza. As for the quality of the fair, it’s a bowling alley. Service is incredibly slow. It took twenty minutes for two Mexican martinis. The food took about forty-five minutes to come out. The dining area was totally empty, so there is no excuse for how long it took. By the time the food arrived, our lane was ready, so we had to carry everything over. I don’t plan on coming back.

Just had our daughter’s 4th birthday. Most horrible experience. Would not recommend it ever for a party or gathering. Could say a milliion things, but I’ll keep it as brief as possible. The hostess was nice enough, but she and the other Kids who work there have no concept of customer service and management is non existent. We were also flat out lied to by the sales team regarding the bowling for kids. While they had the bumper rails, they would not allow us to use the ramp, though they allegedly han 6 of them. When we booked the place we specifically asked about this and were told they had them and would be available. Piss poorly managed place and piss poorly managed event. Highly dissatisfied with the amount we ended up paying for such an experience that left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Went there for the first time for New Years. Horrible experience with the whole evening. If they do this again next year I suggest not selling so many tickets. Only got to bowl 1 game for the whole evening.

Spare time is absolutely horrible! I have tried to give this place a chance after a miserable first time. You are guaranteed to wait hours for a lane. The children who coordinate the front desk are completely disorganized and obviously lack communication between each other. The bar, absolutely Dreadful!!! If you go to the bar only get beer. The bartenders cannot make a drink to save their lives! Also, there is a dress code. Which is understandable but it is way too excessive. If you want a good bowling experience, I highly recommend MELs in Georgetown.

The place is very nice & clean, but it’s way too expensive for a family of 6! We spent almost $ 40 to bowl one game! It takes forever when you have little kids, but they charge you the same no matter the ages of the kids. We even looked at the specials & they weren’t a great deal when you have that many people to pay for. I really wish they charged less for kids bowling. That would make way more sense. We were excited about this place opening, but will probably not be back often.

My third visit yesterday evening for their $ 2.00 per game bowling. All three visits have been excellent. This place just opened but so far I’ve gotten great service from the bowling staff as well as wait staff. Looking forward to a lot more practice. I certainly need it! By the way, this place also serves food and drinks, has party rooms, an arcade, and laser tag area.

They call it Spare Time because you will have hours of spare time waiting on a bowling lane to open up. Our estimate was 2 hours…

Had my grandsons birthday party at Spare Time and everyone had the best time. From start to finish the experience was wonderful. The hostesses were awesome. The pizza was very tasty, the bowling was fun, game area was enjoyable as well as the laser tag. Thank you Spare Time Texas for making this a day my grandson will never forget! I know that there will be other parties in y’all’s future from some of the other kids that came.

Well not much more to add than most of the other reviews. Bowling alleys were nice and not crowded when we went. The staff did not cut us off(time) when our group was entering the 9th frame of our second game. That was nice. Food was below local fast food fare. McDonald’s and Whataburger are far better. Staff was very nice and friendly but disorganized. Arcade was odd. Not sure what it is trying to do. It is a mix mash of games. More for younger kids which is at odds since the venue has a bar. Main Event is better for a similar business. Mel’s in Georgetown is a better bowling alley with(actually) good food.

I truly can’t see me returning here.(not when Main Event offers SO much more, for the same buck!) So last night was our first time visiting Spare Time. We were all pretty stoked because 1. it was my nieces 10th birthday, and 2. My kids love places like these. SO, when the 1st4 seconds in the door we were met with«hey Sir, we have a strict dress code so please turn your cap around” — I was like«well I’ll be…» Cant be TOO mad at that, but okay. It was dead. I can see why. Honestly. As soon as we walked in, I KNEW this place wouldnt hold a candle to the food, drinks and fun of Main Event. Sorry, I know its NOT Main Event, but for the cost and time invested, as a patron, you need to get ALL your $ and time worth when it comes to spending big bucks and having kids to tend to. We never got around to bowling. The kids went through their $ 20 arcade games lightening fast!!, and got some of the crappiest toys in return for points on the arcade. I wasnt expecting much, but these were shitty toys for the $ spent. We spent most of our time hanging out over food and drinks. My Dad ordered chips and queso. And, before I go into this, let me say, they CANT have a Chef. I can only assume their foods are basically pre cooked and all they have to do is heat them, fry a few things, and pop something in an oven for a few. There is NO way they are back there cookin much! Back to foods. Chips and Queso. Over had chips, weird huge triangle shaped, dark corn and the queso was like canned queso cheese with some flare in it. Basic burger and fries. weird condiments, and a small ass burger for the huge bun. Nothing remotely spectacular here. Fries are bomb! Shrimp tacos, because our hostess said they were«to die for». Really? They were on a corn/flour tortilla, but they lacked every bit of flavor you could. I tasted NOTHING distinct. I added some sauce they brought out and salsa, but they are boring as all can be. I subbed the side of chips and salsa for sweet potato fries, and while good, they were way undercooked and mashy. My Sister and Niece ordered a salad. While huge, it truly lacked any flavor. Boring dressing. The Mac & Cheese w garlic bread. My Husband said in 15 years hes NEVER heard me say anything was«too cheesy», but this was TOO damn cheesy! It was a bowl of wet cheese, and not in a good way. The bread was great tho! My Mom ordered the southwest eggrolls and about died on the jalapeño seeds. WTH? My Dad got a philly cheesesteak with extra mushroom and cheese. It had to get sent back. The second was better, but after gnawing through the 1st one, how much can you eat? All together we had 5 adults and 4 kids. We spent a bit of money. and while we never got to bowl, after reading the reviews, it seems as though its just not worth it. Our service was fine. The manager wanted to make the food right, and our hostess tried her best. But overall– you wont see me return. There are no pool tables. There aren’t loads of seating available for when you DO have to wait. The bar is basic, and not«hey lets just watch the game and drink til our lane is ready» inviting. Sad. I don’t see this place lasting long.

**updated ** updating my review to 4 stars because the owner was nice enough to message me apologizing and to consider a second chance The only reason I am writing a review is because of the bowling service. I showed up with family on a Saturday night walked up to the gentleman at the counter and was about to ask for a lane when in his words«let me stop you there. There’s an hour wait for a lane and most likely longer… Still want to wait?» I was shocked at how he was attempting to push us away. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I enjoyed the arcade(even though it was a bit pricy), customer service on the other hand is an entire different story …

This place is really nice when you walk in. It’s also confusing as many Unilocalers have stated. The first desk you encounter as you walk in serves no purpose other than to tell you are lost and to go to the center desk to get a lane. Staff here is very unorganized at the counters. My first impression of this place wasn’t too great. Not too many lanes to bowl. It wasnt even that busy when we came but there was a 30 to 45 minute wait. That surprised me. The gaming side is okay but arcades have pretty much died in the 21st century. Not sure if this place is trying to be a family fun place or made for adults. That was another part of the confusion going on here. They did have some nice specials on the beer but I didn’t stay to try and enjoy it. I was just frustrated with the maze to get an alley to play on and the price of an alley is pretty darn expensive compared to other bowling places in the surrounding area. I took my business else where and back over to Mel’s bowling ally that day. I will try this place out again. My first impression was not that great.

A new bowling/arcade/drinking spot close to home? Awesome! As my husband and I walked in, we were thinking it would be like a Dave and Busters or Main event place. We had to figure out where, what, and how. Arcade is on the right side. There aren’t that much games as I thought it –fair amount. Bowling check is several step in on center right. Small dining area on the left. Large bowling lane on far right and dimmer bowling on far left(age 21+ after 9:30). Bar straight back. My husband and I sat at the bar. They have great drink and food selections. The drinks are good but you can notice how some of the bartenders didn’t know their pour or had to look back in the books on how to make some drinks. The bar seemed unorganized because the bartenders were all over the place. It took a loooooooooong while to get our food. Definitely try the nachos. Piled high and it was good; although not your typical nachos with a ton of cheese on it. We had to order queso in order to add more cheese to our nachos. You would think if you order queso they would bring out a side of chips since we were told we had to order queso as another item instead of just a side of cheese?!? Oh well… Luckily my husband and I weren’t the picky, annoying, straight forward type of customers. It took forever to get refills. I noticed when I would order a drink, other people ordering drinks AFTER me would get their drinks first and cash out before I would finally get my drink-(4drinks later) but it’s because my martini was a little time consuming to make? That’s my guess. Our order was put on another person’s tab — found out it was mostly put on our friend’s tab. It’s a new place that needs a bit more training/practice. Their wifi sucks– can’t connect. Can’t watch sports or anything on tv because their tv kept buffering. I like how this place is close to home as the drinks are fairly priced and the food is good. There are just a few things that needs to be worked on. Hopefully the service is a bit better the next time. We still had a good time and the atmosphere is nice.

My family and I wanted to do something together for Christmas Eve and decided to try out Spare Time for the first time. There were a total of 12 of us and we had a greats time. We bowled for an hour and a half and then played laser tag. While bowling we had a server that was very attentive, promptly took orders and served us drinks. We each had a couple of cocktails which were great. My mom said the Bloody Mary was the best she had ever had. We had over 15 drinks and was shocked that the bill bar bill was under $ 90. We did not eat anything because the restaurant was closed due to it being Christmas Eve. I looked at the menu and it is standard bowling/bar food. Lots of sandwich and pizza options. Overall I was really impressed with this venue. They just opened and I could tell the managers were still training but I could also tell they were really trying. Pflugerville/East Round Rock/Hutto has needed an entertainment venue and Spare Time really fit the bill!

Decided to try this place last night as it was my birthday, I’ve been itching to bowl & huzzah this place is close to us. I did not go in with set expectations but was excited to see it unfold as I have been to similar establishments. I also knew that the place opened just one week ago. When you first walk in it’s a little unclear — there is a hostess stand which seems to be just for their small dinning/snack area; then off to the right is where you actually buy passes/bowling/whatever you’re deciding to do. Since it was Monday night — I looked at their«specials» for the week and Monday from 5p-close is $ 15.99/person for unlimited bowling(shoes included), game play & laser tag. My husband was taking care of this portion while I sat at the back bar and ordered a drink. Margaritas are on special Mondays as well, $ 5 for a fresh — meaning not some nasty premix — margarita and it tasted great. Since we decided to do the $ 15.99 special we started out with bowling — we opted to utilize«The Pin» the private area for parties and 21+ only after 9pm. It was nice, secluded, had the dark/neon bowl vibe while music videos and sports played on screens in the back by the pins. We had a personal waitress(who probably could have been a bit more attentive) as well as other support staff members circling about to help us, answer questions and even give some much needed bowling tips. We intended on getting food but after ordering nachos, which were HUGE and DELICIOUS; we opted to just have a few more drinks and forgot about ordering more food. We bowled for about an hour, which was great, then moved on to play some of the available games. There isn’t an overly huge selection of games and I imagine on a busy day there would be quite a line for certain games. Also — not mentioned, but it makes sense; no one advised that when utilizing the unlimited game play you will not receive tickets to be cashed in. Fine for us as adults but if you bring kids this may bum them out! All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back. I will update my review after we have tried some food and the laser tag!

Worst bowling alley ever. We went couple night with another couple. The guy was awesome when we «checked» in. From there it was a steady DOWNFALL. …our screen didn’t work on lane 14(and they just opened less than a month ago!). The service was TERRIBLE! The waiter took forever to come over then didn’t know the beers or drinks… we had to walk to the bar to look… then when we ordered instead of carding us then and there he walked away… came back 5 minutes later asked for our id… then another 5 minutes for 2 beers(bottle!)…we ordered appetizers. …they forgot the salsa and we had to find someone else to get it. Overall I was NOT impressed and will NOT refer people. Was so excited about this place too.

Today was opening day for Spare Time in Pflugerville. Hubby and I took the day off for a weekday date day for the month. We heard about this place opening up today and added it to our«to do» list. We got there after 11am and we decided to eat lunch in the restaurant area first before we bowled. I ordered the Classic Shaker with tots and hubby got the Baja Shrimp Taco. For appetizer we ordered the Pretzel Dippers. Since it was their 1st day and we were one of the 1st to eat there, we didn’t have any expectations except excellent service and tasty food. Our server was very attentive and one of the owners introduced himself and advised us that our food may take a little longer than normal. It didn’t take too long for our food to arrive — just a few minutes after my tummy was rumbling. Since I am feeling a little under the weather I ordered my burger well done. It was cooked to perfection and it wasn’t dry. It was a nice thick burger with a fresh soft bun and my tots was crispy on the outside the way I like them. Due to the length of time with waiting on our food, the kitchen sent out a complimentary order of funnel fries. We were both stuffed but we couldn’t resist funnel fries. It wasn’t greasy and had the right amount of powdered sugar that didn’t over power the fries. It comes with a chocolate dip that was not too sweet. Next on to the lanes, we bowled for an hour and we had fun with the fun facts that displayed on the screen. I didn’t have a good bowling day and some of the comments on the screen in regards to my score got me laughing. We got a Blitz Card and played a few arcade games. Some of the tv screens had a sports channel or the video of the music that was playing. There’s a room where you can have a private party, bar area, video games for the kids, laser tag and The Pin House is another private room with bowling lanes to hold private parties . Overall, I have a feeling this will be a regular hang out for us.
