I’m growing to love this place more and more. Scratch my earlier review. Seriously I think the earlier negative review was all about my own lameness at the time I posted it. Give this place a shot.

For those who are«regulars» it’s a great place. For those of you who are new to the area or from out of town, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The«regulars» decide what happens there. You are either shunned or taken advantage of. I prefer a more professional staff when visiting a bar. It would make it safe for EVERYONE.

Great small town bar! Love this place, great staff and owners. Happy place to relax after work or on football day. Good times, no trouble makers. Terri the bar keep always takes good care of you!

Ah pool, one of the only sports where the more you drink the better you get! There aren’t many bars in the area but Players is a great dive bar to go to for a few beers and to shoot some pool. It’s more of a local hangout full of people that come to forget their troubles and knock back a few brewskis. They have lots of tables so you’ll always find a free one and during the week they have pool leagues and competitions so if you want to come regularly you can join one of them and test yourself against the local talent. They offer karaōke most nights(maybe every night?) which I don’t partake in but most of the time don’t mind listening to a group of drunk chicks murdering ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. The vibe is very relaxed, not somewhere you’d really go for a big night out with your friends, unless you were starting the night there before bar hopping but definitely a decent place to go to relax. If you’re in the area check it out!

Prices are decent. Drinks are strong. Glasses were clean. Atmosphere is old & some what cozy, unless you fall through the floor heading to the bathroom(can’t say I didn’t warn ya!) I felt very uncomfortable picking music to be played during my day visit. An older couple likes to nag about anything other than country and dictate the juke box. Unfortunately, I believe they are daily regulars whom confuse themselves for regulators. I suggest the bar next door.

Karaōke on Saturday. A little pricey for Saturday. Smoking allowed inside. Good crowed. Fire pit in back. Parking limited.

This is our local dive bar in Pville. It is what it is. It’s fun to play pool here or sing a song at Karaōke. Wooden floors, looks a little beat up, like many of the locals — LOL – but it’s a great lil’ place if you just want to saddle up to the bar and have a cold beer.

Awesome place to play pool and darts! The bathroom was the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a public like this. The staff is friendly and cool. Pool tables need some leveling but it was still playable. I will definitely go again to play some pool with friends.

Even though the parking could be better, and it can be packed with people wanting to sing, I think this establishment’s karaōke is one of its best assets. It is absolutely a great, fun time in the karaōke section of Player’s. My wife and I started expanding our karaōke from home out into the likes of Pflugerville with a friend of hers(Frances knows who she is) and about the only things I don’t like about it are 1) smoking inside the bar is not banned, and it can get pretty overwhelming at times, and 2) when there’s a lot of people wanting to sing, sometimes the order of requests gets mixed up, resulting in longer than average wait times because the DJ’s running the karaōke are no more sober than any of the people! Sometimes there is a lot of cowboy, desperado country stew western being idolized in this environment, and unfortunately that’s because it provides this atmosphere by looking like an old saloon from way back when. I know when I am around a lot of cigarette smoke, it makes me want to drink more to keep my mind off of being bothered by it. I still always think people need to step outside every other cigarette just to keep the air fresh and to generally respect the rights of others to breathe the non-smoking air, since there’s no separation of smokers from non-smokers. However, my wife and I and her friend come here maybe once every other or every three weeks just so it doesn’t get boring, as we try to find out some other places to continue doing our karaōke!

Oh Player’s…we go way back. So much history. Located in «downtown» Pflugerville, its one of the only 3 bars. I have been here many times, more than I want to admit. This dive bar is full of locals, and no these people are not your typical WASPy stay-at-home soccer mom’s or people you non-suburbians think would go here. People go here normally to get wasted, not to be a sipper. As always, this is not Austin so there is no ban on inside smoking. On a recent night when I was visiting my folks, some long time friends and I came here. The smoking was a bit too much for me that evening, the cloud of smoke was a bit overwhelming. We decided that a game of shuffleboard was in order. Girls against guys. I must admit I am no good at this game, but was having a total blast. Must have been the two 28oz. beers I had consumed prior to arriving. After winning the game, unbelievably and no thanks to me, my roommate(who is a total sore loser) disappeared for half an hour. Really? What a child. Next up was karaōke. My friend signed up to do a song, and the others decided to play some pool in the meantime. There are tons of pool tables here(I don’t play) and I’m pretty sure its free. There seems to be karaōke every time I have gone so I can only assume its every night. Some people were just plain awful, but at least they always have the AC on full blast. There is an outside patio as well, but no one really hangs out there. They also tend to have live local music acts pretty often too, and I tend to go see my friends play every now & then. I wouldn’t say its a place you go out of your way to go to, but its definitely worth a shot if you’re in the area or just looking for a REALLY different kind of night so you can say you had one. Is dive-tacular a word? Well it is now. At Player’s, you never know whats going to happen. Trust me… I’m a doctor.

I’ve had some great times in this bar, service as I remember was good and it is generally the one I go to in Pflugerville.(though I’ve avoided bars for awhile!) It has a seedier atmosphere than Hanovers, but that just makes it better IMO! Granted most people just go in to get hammered, but it feels better to me at Player’s without all the trendy hipster types milling around.(haven’t been in awhile I hope the customer base hasn’t changed!) Nearly got into fights every time I was there, but that is also part of what makes a good bar! Too bad for laws in recent years, anything considered ‘criminal activity’ like that will ruin a bar now. To play devil’s advocate though. Hanover’s has done some truly amazing things for community and medical benefits. Players! You can do it too! People will love ya for it. Be that down-home good ol’ bar in Pflugerville!(you already are to us locals)
