Great Wall Express

Had flu. Decided I was finally hungry. Ordered lemon chicken, steamed Dumplings, and chicken in a black bean sauce. OMG. I was so happy!
Had small bites of each and was so pleased.
Portions were so large have lunch for all week
Fried rice needs veggies but was tasty
Lemon chicken tastes like chicken dipped into a lovely bright lemonade sauce. Summery chicken yum. Not to sweet not too tart just perfect.
Delivery was quick driver good NO complaints just praise! Good place.
Thank you I will be calling for pickup delivery again!

New in town, from NY actually and tried the place we’ll never return to. Chicken & Broccoli was too salty for wife to eat. Texture lousy/​dry! Fried Rice was tasteless, nothing but rice! Eggrolls skinny and grease galore, again no taste. Shrimp and veggies, did taste good. Delivery 5 miles away was refused! The girl at the counter was very friendly, needs to work for others that deserve her. Bad biz folks!

Love this place, been going for years, but must write a review. Called in my order, and picked up my order in the drive through window. Brian the manager met me with the best personality. He talked with us while we waited for our food to be prepared and entertained us with a great conversation. Food was fresh and hot with all my condiments. Great friendly spot.

Good food and fast delivery service.
I live 2 miles away from them and a few months ago I suddenly was no longer in their delivery area. They’ve been delivering to me since they opened. I haven’t ordered from them since.
It’s a shame because they really had fast service and good food. But if they no longer want my money I won’t force it on them.

This whole in the wall is GREAT! I love the food here. It’s made fresh to order and taste fantastic. It’s small but very clean and inviting. The staff is so friendly and ready to serve. My family loves to eat here.
Don’t forget to order the shrimp toast… YUM!

First trip here. The lunch prices was amazingly low. I got worried, because it is said you get what you pay for. However, I did not get what I paid for. I got much more. My food was hot, fresh, plentiful, filling and delicious. The egg roll was perfect in texture and taste. The pan fried dumplings were big and tasty. The sauce tasted like just soy sauce to me. Nothing interesting there. They can improve on that. My entrée General Tso chicken was excellent. The rice was cooked just right. My waiter was very friendly, nice and attentive. I will definitely return to this best kept secret local Asian restaurant. m

We’ve ordered here multiple times before. The food isn’t great, but it’s food when you’re hungry and want delivery in Pflugerville.
I’ll now happily pay extra for one of those food delivery services to get it ANYWHERE but here. Our food arrived almost 2 hours after we placed the order. They forgot one of our meals and their way of «apologizing» was taking my name and number so I could drop by and get a «free» meal later. Really? A free one? I already paid for it. You didn’t bring it! That’s not FREE! That’s me not getting the services I paid for and HORRIBLE customer service. My husband called to complain further, so they did bring out my food… including the allergens they had been told NOT to include.
They were rude both times we called to try and get this fixed. Please do yourself a favor and order from Kaprow. You’ll pay extra for the delivery service, but it’ll be worth EVERY penny in frustration. Oh! And you’ll actually get your food!

Food. When you come expect great food, and poor service. We have only had one waitress who did good, the rest of the highschool girls they have working in there are not great. But there food is delicious!

As much as we enjoy the food at this place, it had been increasing difficult to get it. Their rules on delivery appear to change so often it’s hard to keep up. One time they will deliver but the next time it’s too close to closing (45 minute). The price of extras fluctuate based on the whim of those who answer the phone. Speaking of their service, over the phone you get either someone who doesn’t know anything to a rude take or leave attitude. Think I’m done with them for long while…

Absolutely the worst delivery experience we’ve ever had. We live in an apartment. Remember that. So we ordered our food at 7:15. We live 10 mins from this location. We waited and waited. My wife finally called them at 8:25 because their driver still hadn’t shown up. We were told he should have been here a long time ago. Finally the driver calls my wife asking what apartment it is we live in. As I’m standing outside waving at the driver to stop he just passes right by me talking on the phone and goes to the next apartment building. He then runs back after leaving his car parked down the way and hands me my food and the check to sign. No apology or compensation for taking forever with our food. So, he leaves, I go in with the food. Guess what? It’s cold. So we call the restaurant to let them know our utter disgust with the service and our cold food and the lady starts to blame us for it !!! Saying that we didn’t tell them we lived in an apartment and that they don’t deliver to apartments (which they do) and that they were so backed up because of our order and the driver being so late getting back. Seriously !!! How is your driver messing around and turning a 10 minute delivery into an hour and 15 minute delivery our fault !!! Needless to say we will not be doing any business at all with Great Wall Express anymore. Oh and did I mention that the lady on the phone was more than happy when we said that same thing to her ?? Well she did. Nice customer service ma’am.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here tonight. The service we got went above and beyond what I expected. They treated us so kindly — not something you always get when you come in with a 9 month old. The food was SO good. We will be eating here often! I had the Hibachi Chicken and would recommend it to anyone!

I really like this place. It is your standard Americanized Chinese fare, but pretty good if you eat there. I always get the sesame chicken, orange chicken, or hot garlic chicken and all are very good. Appetizers are good as well, again, standard stuff.
Im modifying my review here. Although we had problems in the past with accuracy of delivery and take out orders, the last 6 times we have ordered takeout or delivery our orders have been fresh, accurate, and on time.

We are regulars for delivery. The whole family enjoys this place. It is our go-​to. We live close and the delivery is always fast.

Not the best soups, but pretty good syrupy msg chicken if you’re looking for that. Solves those late night cravings

Eaten there once… Years ago when we moved to Pflugerville. I honestly don’t know how it stays open.

First and last time visiting this mockery of a restaurant. Just moved to the area and was looking for a good Chinese place. There aren’t too many to choose from so we decided on this one. This place is just a glorified Panda Express except more expensive. Management should be ashamed and drive off a cliff.
How exactly does a «chinese» place not even know how to serve up Le Mein or Fried Rice?
1. Did not include appetizer we ordered. Yeah it was only 4 bucks but I could have 4 more dollars right now. Just looking to get what I paid for at this point.
2. Lo Mein was mediocre at best.
3. Fried rice was white rice with 3 peas and a squirt of soy.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. Do not order from this restaurant.
They did not deliver what I ordered, the food they did deliver was cold and they threatened to call the police on me for complaining.
I placed a delivery order and 45 minutes later my food arrived. Well, some of it arrived and what did arrive was very cold. The sweet and Sour chicken can without the sweet and sour sauce and the fried rice was cold mush.
I called the restaurant to see if I could get some sweet and sour sauce. I was told I could come to the restaurant and pick some up.
When I asked for the sauce to be delivered I was told ‘No’. Then I was told if an order heads my way they might be able to deliver it, but if the next order doesn’t head towards my neighborhood I couldn’t have any delivered.
I explained that this wasn’t very good customer service and would like some delivered as I paid for my food to be delivered. My reply was ‘No’ just the words ‘No’. So I asked for my money back on the cold and incomplete food order I had been given. The response was quite shocking. They threatened to call the police on me.
I asked if I could have my meals replaced or have my money back and I was hung up on.
I called back and was told that my meals wouldn’t be replaced unless I returned the initial meals to the restaurant. I declined this offer and asked what they would do with the returned meals. They told me I could not have my money back and would send me some sweet and sour sauce.
10 minutes later I get another call. They asked if i would like the sweet and sour meal replaced. I explained that both meals were cold and at this point I would like my money back or both meals replaced and an apology for the threat of calling the police on me for complaining about my order.
They responded with, ‘Sir, its raining outside and we have had several people order delivery orders, we cannot replace your meals or give you your money back. Now would you like the sweet and sour?’
I let them know this wasn’t very good customer service and if they can’t provide correct orders via delivery then they probably shouldn’t be offering the service and charging people for things they don’t receive.
I would strongly urge you to not order from here.

I can’t see why this is getting bad reviews. This is our go to place for Chinese food. They are decent on their prices and food is not too bad. It’s the best in Pflugerville IMO.
I like that they employ younger kids for the front.
Food comes out very fast and very hot.
I always eat the Great Wall Delight and egg drop soup. The wife gets the General Tso’s chicken and hot and sour soup. Never fails that the food is excellent, comes out quick, and hot.

My husband and I have stopped going here. The food portions have become smaller, the prices have increased, and even the taste has deteriorated. They even started giving super small portions of rice. I understand giving less of the meat and vegetables, but the rice, really?
Also, I’ve noticed their food has more oil and the vegetables are overcooked. I’m no longer a fan of this Pflugerville location.
We have started going to Bo Asian Bistro, instead because their portion size is what Great Wall used to be, the food is tasty, and they give a good amount of rice.

We are new to the area and decided upon this place based more on distance than reviews. Ordering Chinese is definitely hit or miss so we decided to just give Great Wall a go. We ordered during the week for dinner and were happy enough with the delivery time. It wasn’t more than 35 minutes, I would say. We ordered online, which was a first for us, but everything showed up as ordered. The delivery guy was nice enough, if not curt. But he was also out of breath from running up four flights. Will be sure to mention in our next order that there is an elevator at the other end of the building.
We were really surprised and pleased with how good our food was. I got the spicy shrimp, which actually could have been sweet and sour shrimp. Battered shrimp, pineapple chunks, and pieces of red bell pepper in a sauce. I did specify in my order that they not make it *too* spicy so maybe it is typically more spicy. Either way, it was really good. White rice with my order, and won ton soup. Soup was good. Rice was… rice. My husband got the BBQ pork with snow peas. There wasn’t a description when we placed the order so he was kind of guessing at exactly what it would be, but he really couldn’t believe how good it was for delivery Chinese food.
Will we order from here again? Most definitely. And I’ll probably be sure to place my order online again based not only on how well it went this past time, but also because there are some pretty negative customer service reviews for this place on here!
