Out of towers here. this place lives up to the awsome reviews! Excellent service! Asked what was the specialty as we are not from here, and they gave us samples of different meats to try. who does that? Food wad excellent, service was excellent, salsa was the only reason for the 4stars. I’d come back tomorrow!

I’ve been here quite a few times now. They’re linguas are pretty delicious. I usually come here for their carne asada fries. Soooooo delicious with gooey cheese and guacamole and sour cream. It’s a pretty big plate though, so you may want to share it with someone.

and $ 2.50 for a preeeeetty large taco isn’t bad, compared to El Roy’s $ 1.50 tacos that are probably half the size. Burritos are decent though but service is fast. They have free chips with a good selection of salsas! Aaaaaaand their tamarind juice and horchata are my favorite drinks ever.

Fuckin ridiculous. Rip off burrito. Fucking fail. Highly disappointed. Wouldn’t let us take the whole chip bucket either. Can’t believe this place.

I have to drive from long ways to get to this place… that’s how good this food is… the service is always great and you don’t have to wait a long time to get your food. Defenetely a must if you haven’t tried that restaurant.

Sorry, no way 4-​stars for me. I’ve been once on suggestion of Solo Polo when they closed and there’s no way Chunky’s matches. I went with my kids and had burritos and they were just ok. I’ve never been back.
Just fine for a quick burro if you are on that side of town. There are other choices and I go to them.

I remember when this place opened. I was about 12 years old. I would go there with my best friend and sometimes my dad. The place was so much smaller back then. They have expanded due to the amount of success they have with customers. That’s because their food is just out of this world good! The nachos are the most amazing nachos on the planet. And they still are! Unfortunately I now cannot eat cheese or avocado. But I go there and I order their burritos, and ask for no cheese, sour cream, or avocado on it or in. You’d think it would taste terrible without all the goodies on it, but actually it’s pretty good still! The supreme burrito is insane good. I know this because my fiancé always orders the supreme burrito. He’s a huge fan LOL. I also order the soft tacos there. My favorite is the fish! Sooooo good! The beef one is delicious too! While waiting for your food, you can serve yourself free chips and all types of salsa! My favorite is the green one! The line is sometimes really long due to the SRJC nearby. In fact, the café at the SRJC is a bit pricey for broke students, so a lot of them come over to get a yummy lunch for a decently cheap price that actually fills them (I’m one of those students). If you like Mexican food for a really good price and a large portion, this is the perfect place for you!

Use to love going here on a regular basis. But there food is not worthy of my business. One of my favorites were their Tamales. But lately, they are too doughy, the meat is half the amount and dry and no sauce inside, let alone sauce on top. Their Chicken Burritos are okay, but the meat is always dried out and overcooked. The Tortilla Chips also are overcooked and stale. I tell them not to give me any cause I end up throwing them out.
The vegetarian Burrito is okay. Edible.

Can’t go wrong with their carne asada super burrito and of course tacos. Full self service chip and salsa bar is a plus.

Surprisingly the best taqueria in town. We’ve eaten in Petaluma whenever we are in town, and have tried a few mex places there. The food here was fresh, fast and reminded me of baja. Super hot sauce bar also, with chips and pico-​de-​gallo. Yum!

It’s in my neighborhood– walking distance– so it would be great if I liked it, but I don’t. After a mediocre meal here the first time (enchilada plate), I thought I’d give it another try and it was just as mediocre upon return 6 months later with a combo taco-​enchilada. Everything is so bland and tastes like it was frozen or canned (probably not but that’s what it tastes like– not fresh). Service is also mediocre. I won’t go again.

Our weekly taco shop! We love the service. We love the food. We LOVE the prices what else can I say? I generally order a super burrito or super quesadilla … Sometime a bean and cheese burrito when I want something small. They have glass bottles coke, and horchata…

Love their fish tacos, as well as their salsa and chip bar (free with purchase). They even have grilled and salted jalepenos in their salsa and chip bar, delish! The service isn’t the friendliness, but the place is clean and their food is pretty fresh and good. Bottom line, if you like fish tacos (probably the best I have had) and value a good salsa bar, I would certainly try this place. Oh yeah, my coworkers love all their other taco and burrito options too:)

I can’t think of anything bad to say about these guys. We have an abundance of taquerias in this county but I always pick this one while in Petaluma. The prices are very good and the restaurant is very nicely kept. I accidentally tried to give the cashier $ 10 too much and with some pushing she got me to take my $ 10 back. She could have easily taken it but she acted in integrity instead. I admire good character. 5 stars.

I love Chunky s. I’ve been coming here since they first opened. This time I decided to try the cheese enchiladas. I usually get the vegetarian super burrito. I was very impressed. The cheese enchilada is awesome too. This leaves me happy yet perplexed. Which one will I pick next time I eat here? I dunno… I just don’t know…(eyes glazed over and down cast as I kick rocks…)

I’m not a huge fan of the salsa but everything else is sooooo good! The food is great, the staff and the owners are great, this place never let’s me down!

I love this place! I’m sad the second location in Rohnert Park closed but this location is the best! always a friendly experience and reliable food. Burritos are great as are the tacos and nacho plate. I usually get it to go and the food stays hot and fresh. They have a chips and salsa bar where the chips are fresh and crispy and the variety of salsa are replenished often. It’s clean and well-​managed. Great for a local treat!
The menu includes American indulgences like French fries and burgers. I’ve never tried anything from the American menu but I hear it’s good.
There is also outside seating available if you want to enjoy the fresh air.

The best place to get authentic Mexican food in Petaluma. The service is always fast and super affordable. I recommend their burritos!

I love Chunkys! They have never disappointed me! I’ve been going since high school. I go pretty often on my lunch break I always order a burrito and they have it ready so fast! And I always get extra chips and he never makes me pay for it.
Also I was there with my boyfriend and he loves horchata and so he asked how it was made. We had been arguing if it had milk in it. Not only did he explain how its made in great detail but he said if we come back in on a weekday when he isn’t so busy he said he would show us how its made and teach us!!! Seriously that is above and beyond great service!
If you love authentic delicious Mexican food and good and fast service then Chunkys is your place!

I would east here all the time if I could. It is a great value for the dollar.
The place has cool soccer on the screen and it is cool to be at. The tacos are the bomb and the burritos are great too.
It has a real charm to it and i think all of the bad comments are lame… believe a guy who goes out and not these Unilocal losers
