4 or 5 stars, it’s hard to decide. I’m going 4 only because they can get SOoooo busy that your overall experience can go sour. It’s not uncommon to wait 20 – 30 minutes or heaven-forbid, get behind a large party. Their food is generally really really good– often fantastic but 1-in-3 of the times I go, something goes wrong… usually it’s related to how busy they are. People can knock my review for not giving 5-stars, I had a hard time deciding. Food is often REALLY good but once in a while it’s just«good». Love you guys — just don’t quite hit my 5-star mark.

After hearing about how great this place is I was expecting a lot. Very disappointed. It was very loud and I could barely hear the people I was sitting with. They screwed up my order, the super burrito from the combo menu. And it was bland completely lacking flavor. So nothing special here and no reason to go back.

Any«Taqueria» that promotes happy hour and hard liquor does not have authentic food. chips are cool though.

Amazing service. All the waiters are running around looking for something to do. Cozy ambiance, lighting is perfect. TVs everywhere so it was nice to watch NFL playoffs as we ate. More importantly, food was top tier! Best torta Milanesa I’ve had in the states. Mexican food better than anything we have in the South Bay!

Wow! I’m still blown away by the incredible meal we enjoyed at Mi Pueblo Taqueria in downtown Petaluma. Mi Pueblo serves up truly authentic Mexican food with amazing quality and favor. The guests were lined up outside the restaurant on a Thursday night for good reason — it’s that good! We enjoyed a large Mango Margarita($ 12) and Strawberry Margarita($ 12) at the bar while we waited for our table. It was worth it for the $ 2 upgrade for the large drink. The large margarita is made with 2 shots of tequila vs one shot in the regular size($ 10). Both drinks had great flavor, but could have been blended just a little more smoothly next time. The complimentary chips and salsa are delicious! As another reviewer mentioned, the pico de gallo is fresh and has great flavor! The blended salsa had a nice spicy kick to it that I loved(but it may overwhelm more sensitive palates). I ordered the Enchilada and Taco plate which came with rice, beans, and a fresh cabbage salad — a generous portion for $ 12. If I wasn’t a refined lady, I would’ve licked that plate clean. It was THAT good. Seriously! Even the cabbage salad was fresh and more than just a garnish — it had a nice vinaigrette dressing and was a refreshing end to the meal. I highly recommend the Shredded Beef Enchilada and Carne Asada(grilled beef) Taco. I thought this was the perfect combination: tender, well-seasoned beef in the enchilada with a nice amount of sauce and a small streets taco with carne asada that was double wrapped in a corn tortilla. The refried beans and rice were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My brother enjoyed his Mole Burrito and Enchilada combo($ 12). The burrito, like the enchilada, was served with just the right amount of sauce — enough to give it a unique flavor without drowning it in sauce. The Mole flavor paired well with the grilled chicken — highly recommend this as a unique dish to try. The service was friendly and attentive. I liked that the bartender stepped outside the bar to help serve drinks and even offered to bring us a fresh bowl of chips and attend to other tables. Good to see everyone helping out to keep the customers happy. Mi Pueblo Taqueria, any plans to expand? Your sauces may be too spicy for some Midwesterners, but as a native Californian now living in Wisconsin, I’d welcome your fresh, authentic Mexican food to the restaurant scene out here! Think about it. :)

My husband and I always come here. My favorite is the burrito Marinero which has shrimp and my second favorite is the Molcajete. Don’t forget to order the fried ice cream for dessert! Amazing!

Bottom line — Food tasted great but the service needs mucho improvement as a first(last) time patron. Attentive reception walking in — NO Server smiling — NO Specials recommended — NO Friendly small talk — NO Mentioning there’s a salsa bar — NO Thanking me on the way out — NO Great tip from me — NO I’ve had better customer service from a taco truck.

I had the #10 which is an enchilada and taco plate. I was impressed the enchilada sauce was tasty and homemade tasting. I had a shredded beef crunchy taco and everything was fabulous I will definitely return. The food and atmosphere were very good.

Heed this warning: Once you’ve eaten here, you may never settle for any other Mexican restaurant north of Mexico; the food is that good. It just sets the bar so high that when I leave Petaluma, it’s like there’s a void where Mi Pueblo used to be. Sure, there are other good Mexican restaurants, but even when I’m at Chimichanga’s in St Louis, as good as that place is, I wish I was here. Let’s not kid ourselves. You may not see what the fuss is all about. Being a picky vegetarian, I pretty much alternate between the cheese enchiladas and the cheese, bean, and rice burrito with tangy enchilada sauce poured over it, so I haven’t even scratched the surface of the whole menu, but the enchiladas, wet burrito, and frozen margaritas are so good, I never feel it’s necessary to do so. So is the place perfect? No. I would chip off pieces of the fifth star if I could, but not even half of it so it stays. The place can feel a little cramped at times, the seats in the booths are not always comfortable, and the only thing I can really say about the outside dining area is that it’s cozy. This is not the cheapest Mexican restaurant you’ll ever find, but I feel like the prices are reasonable. The wet burrito is pretty big for $ 5.50(possibly $ 6 now), although the margaritas are a bit on the expensive side, but what can I say? They’re alcohol. My mother has complained on more than one occasion that too much of the taco salad is just lettuce, but you’ll have to find out for yourself.

Always always always great. This place continues to stand out for its great food and amazingly friendly service. Whether you take food to go or… stay here in a comfy booth or at the bar, Mi Pueblo shines consistently. Full bar. The perfect hometown full-service Mexican restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. Best real margaritas ever.

The burrito I had was enormous. I probably should have only eaten half of it but it was so delicious I couldn’t stop myself eating it all! I would love to have a place as good as this in my neighbourhood. I guess I’ll have to come to the west coast more often!

Over priced. I went today and order 3 flautas with guacamole for my daughter. And I can’t believe it was $ 16.00 dollars for 3 tortillas fried with chicken inside. And a side of rice and beans. I think that the food it’s over priced… I think that’s what I paid for a rib eye steak at out back.

This place has a really great salsa bar. Free chips and salsa when you are seated with quick service that are attentive and take Your drink order. They have a expansive menu ranging from burritos to seafood to vegetarian to specialties. It’s really great. I like to try something new each time. I’ve tried their Marinero burrito and its MASSIVE. You can most definitely feed two hungry people on the size of one of their burritos. My boyfriend got a burrito too so we had to large burritos and it was a ton of food. All the flavors were spot on and they didn’t skimp on the seafood. My boyfriend claimed his asada burrito was on the dry side. Overall great service and great food but I would always recommend getting a wet burrito over a dry one!
