Best Peruvian food in town. Love getting the Lomo Saltado here, especially with the green aji(spicy sauce). Prices are good for the amount of food they give too. A little small inside and always seems to be packed, but I always take it to go anyway. I definitely recommend trying this place

Service isn’t the best or the quickest but the chaufa de pollo with the sauce is the best I have found at any Peruvian spot in all of nj

Yes, the service can be a little slow at times. Yes, they are VERY crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. Yes, $ 16.00 is a lot for a roasted chicken, BUT their food is great and I’m so glad my co-workers introduced me to this place. I love their chicken, fries with the mayo and the aji /salsa verde for their chicken. I don’t know what they put in that green sauce, it’s so damn good. Also try the Lomo Saltado. It’s like steak with onions, tomatoes, rice, etc. It’s really good. I have found the best day to go there is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. After those two days, service and quality of food isn’t as consistent as I want it to be.

Best Chicken in Perth Amboy. The other dishes are okay :) Portions are huge and is adequately price. Not much of a dining room but who cares when you can take it home and enjoy a delicious meal! Love Love this place and the waitresses are great when it comes to customer services.

This place is amazing. I love seafood and this places does it right. Always fresh and their portions are amazing. The restaurant is a bit small but it gets the job done. My two favorite dishes are the ceviche marisco and the parihula. If you love Peruvian food, you definitely need to try this restaurant.

I’ve been going here for about 4 years now even though placing and order takes forever because they don’t always pick up the phone. Food is good but dam the stuff you don’t want to find out :-(. I’ll make this as quick as possible. They are all unsanitary! I had to wait almost an hour because they screwed up on my pick up order and witnessed a lot of disgusting things while I waited! EVERYONE was handling food and money and NOONE washed their hands in between! That green sauce we love so much… We’ll the way it’s made is extremely nasty, from fake rinsed peppers in a sink the size of a small school bathroom sink to the grey plastic OLD worn out utility tote they poor it into before they bottle it! Yuk yuk yuk! No one in the kitchen had a hair net on! And the salad!!! Well here’s how that went! The owners wife(because I’ve pretty much taken notice since I went there a enough) walks in purse in tow and drops her purse right on the counter where they prepare the food at! Then she proceeds to help expedite the orders out, handling food and never once washed her dirty hands! I couldn’t believe it but boy she went all out and right to packaging your lovely salads, grabbing lettuce with her hands and any lettuce that fell out the container onto the counter was place back into the large pile of lettuce that already sits out uncovered! Neat less to say I took the food to avoid a scene told my husband who opened the food we had and since we were looking out for it YESTHEFREEKINGRICEHADHAIRINIT! Such a shame!

Authentic Peruvian food! Ceviche just as good as pricey Manhattan restaurants. Great find! Enjoy.

Whether it’s Peruvian, Colombian, Puerto Rican… I am all about some damn good Latin American food. Espeeeecccciiiaaallly when I am super hung over from incoherently ordering vodka bottle #2 the night before. As I come to my senses(vision and hearing still buzzy, taste and smell seem to be in order), I decide that comfort food is definitely in order for this day. Perfect opportunity to hit up the little Peruvian joint hidden away in a somewhat dingy looking stretch of stores. I appreciate artfully crafted food and linen table cloths but there’s a little part of me that just has to try the somewhat dilapidated looking building that just screams local dive. First of all, I don’t have a Spanish grandmother, but if I did, I am pretty sure these are what her portions would look like. Absolutely heaping piles of food! We ordered a mixed seafood dish, and some beef and veg fried rice. Everything had the flavors they were supposed to… robust and savory, but it was incredibly salty. I know some of these dishes are seasoned with a heavy hand but that salt threw me off. I had to glug water all day just to balance it out. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, I think they deliver locally… perfect for that demonic red bull and everything hangover lunch.

The place is small and the décor needs updating but the taste of the food and the quantity makes up for it. I also tried the Tres Leche cake and it was OK but the chocolate cake was banging.

I love authentic ethnic restaurants, and this is the real deal. I have never seen anyone in there but Peruvians or Hispanics! Never an English-speaking white person in there; too bad, it’s their loss. There is always one person there that speaks English to take my order, however. Their house special Lomo Saltado is fantastic; spiced nicely, better than anywhere else in my book. Take-out comes in a 15″ x 10″ container, it is so large. $ 15 and loaded with beef, chicken, mussels, small shrimp, a few clams– I get 2 or even 3(!) meals out of it for $ 15. The Pescado a lo Macho(Fried fish with seafood in a creamy chees sauce) is a winner, too. Their rotisserie chicken– great. Some real authentic dishes as specials on the weekend that I want to try, like Carapulcre. This is as good, over all, as TeTe’s in Highland Park– and I like the Saltado here more. The place is tiny, a hole in the wall, really– maybe 6 or 7 tables. TV always on, set to a Spanish channel. If you want atmosphere, this ain’t the place. Don’t let that deter you. I won’t let that detract from the 5 star rating I give it for the food.. One of my current favorite places.

If your looking to eat or try out Peruvian food, this is your place! I would give this restaurant five stars, but service wasn’t that great, and the place was way to small! The food is delicious and the plates are so big that two people can be stuffed from just eating one plate of food. I’ve been to a few Peruvian restaurants and none are as delicious as this one!
