Katie’s is no longer at this location. Don’t know where it has gone but this building has a astray shop, a pizza place, city grocery and a shop called Montage. No Katie’s.

They have moved into J’s bakery. I’ve been consuming their americana(espresso water and sugar) and chocolate chocolate chip cream filled breakfast cookie for 3 days straight. Need an intervention. Please send help.
Very small and intimate setting perfectly suited for coffee or tapas. The empanadas were delish, the cuban sandwich was good, but not 100% authentic. It lacked pulled pork and my bread was slightly over toasted. Yet it was still a pretty good sandwich. The coffee was excellent. Recommend you give it a try.

Growing up in the ‘70s in Key West, I ate more than my share of Cuban sandwiches. They were relatively inexpensive and incredibly yummy. Since then, I’ve eaten many more and, usually, have been disappointed. Not today. I saw Mary M’s review a while back and bookmarked Katie’s at the time, hoping to get to Pcola so I could nosh on one of those handfuls of porky delight. If you don’t like a lot of bread on your sandwich(which is ironic, if you order one… but I know quite a few people that kvetch about too much bread), you’re going to be in heaven with a Cuban sammitch from Katie’s. Look at the picture of my lunch. Perfectly pressed, crispy bread. Not to get goofy with superlatives and bombastic in my appreciation, but that was a delightful and amazing sandwich. You can taste the mojo on the pork roast, so authenticity is spot-on. The sandwich was larger than I was expecting, for only $ 6.50. I probably could have used more mustard on mine, but I ate it as-is and was completely sated. I got the last two papas rellenas, which were flippin’ delicious also. These are a fist-sized(small fists, admittedly, but stick with me here) ball of mashed potatoes, filled with a goodly portion of spicy ground beef(piccadillo, minus the raisins as far as I could tell), rolled in crumbs, then deep-fried. I keed you not, if you like these sorts of things, you will desire them like a crazy person loves drama. I can’t even imagine how you could improve on these. Although I was inside of the place twice during the visit, I sat outside on the sidewalk. I’m fairly certain that there is nowhere to sit inside, as it is quite small. Some jackass was smoking at the adjoining table, which was unpleasant, but the sandwich and my abundance of couth got me through it. I saw two employees and they were both very friendly and helpful. Not that I needed any assistance, other than boxing up a tater ball and half of my sandwich. The nice girl(is that un-P.C.?) also told me that Katie’s had been open since last August, which was a surprise to me. I need to get to Pcola more often, apparently. Pick a nice day and give Katie’s a try. It’s a simple menu, but that sandwich is totes worth a trip.

Very good empanadas and Cuban sandwiches. Cute little shop with tables outside. Great café con Leche. They carry Cuban sodas and make Cuban pastries. I’m not Cuban but it tastes good and works for me!
