New to the area and I’ve been cycling through various chinese restaurants to find the one I like. We’ve got a winner with Dragon Gate! Food is fresh and delicious! Best Singapore noodles I’ve ever had. This is my new go to spot and they’ve got a new loyal customer.

Didn’t really like this food. There were chunks of Salt crumbs in my fried rice. It was SOSALTY. our Crab Rangoon filling had WAYYY too much garlic flavor, couldn’t even taste the cream cheese. The pork dumplings were dry and the egg rolls were burnt. 2 stars because they were very friendly. Still looking for good Chinese in Pines. Bummed.

I love it! This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant! I moved to pines recently and I wasn’t sure where to order from. I saw the pictures of the restaurant and decided to go in and try it out. Our server, Laura, was very friendly. I ordered the special wonton soup, and it’s so far one of the best wonton soups I’ve ever had! I brought an extra one home to eat later. They also give complementary fried noodles and tea, which was very nice. I am definitely going back again!

This is definitely the best Chinese food I have had in Florida, so I am giving it 5 stars. I think I was spoiled in Southern California my whole life because I never realized how good Asian food was there until I moved to Florida. At first I thought I was just unlucky, but after trying Chinese restaurant after restaurant, I noticed a theme with the food. The chicken and the pork tasted like wood. The beef was bland… it was the same everywhere I went. Even worse, I paid more thinking that the quality would go up. No. I just ended up feeling no only disappointed in the taste, but also felt ripped off. So given my history with Chinese food in Florida, I am really pleased to have finally found Dragon Gate. This is my dearly departed mother-in-law’s favorite Chinese restaurant, and now mine(in Florida). I had ordered the Beef with Scallops, which was succulent, tender and very flavorful. Thankfully it was freshly prepared, and I was very pleased with the price to boot. Hubby ordered another beef dish, and they actually seared his at the table while we watched. I believe it was the Beef with Mushrooms… I recommend ordering this if you want to make an impression with a dinner guest. It was really an extra bit of excitement we weren’t expecting which made the meal a lot of sizzling fun. We ordered some pan fried dumpling appetizers as well, and they were delicious as well. The food was so good that we ate it all. I can say that I NEVER eat all my food. I just enjoyed it that much. The vibe in the restaurant isn’t really anything to write home about, but it was nice enough as long as the food was as good as it was. That is really the most important thing as long as the service is pleasant, which it was. The only thing that makes me sad is that we don’t live closer to Dragon Gate. I think we would be regular customers if they delivered to us-but alas we are a bit far from them for delivery. However, the next time I am craving Chinese food, we will definitely make the trip back to Dragon Gate.

We have eaten here many times. The service is usually very good. In my opinion this is the best chinnese food in southern Broward County. I always have the hot and sour soup. I get it extra spicy with pork. It’s not watery, and it’s loaded with meat and vegetables. We had crab ragoon I like that it’s folded into triangles instead of made to look like a flower. I had general Changs chicken, I got it all white meat. It was not heavily breaded and the sauce had great flavor. We also got shrimp fried rice. The fried rice you get when you order a pint or more is way better then the rice you get when you order a combo meal.

Not sure why this place has the rating it has… It was horrible. The food is over priced, the rice was hard and seemed like it was left over day old rice, and the food lacked flavor. I looked up «authentic» Chinese food and this came up. My family and I aren’t from here so we had no idea where to go. But I wouldn’t come here again if I’m ever in the area, and I don’t suggest anyone else to come here too. You can easily get better«Chinese» food from Panda Express for half the price.

I walked in here looking for a healthy option and this restaurant delivered. I was pleasantly greeted as I walked in and immediately had hot tea, water, spicy mustard, duck sauce and fried rice noodles at the table. A very cordial young man waited on me and suggested some options. I opted for the dry or no sauce version of the Chicken Delight and was impressed with the size of the serving and with how the vegetables were served in the covered dish so that you may serve yourself as much or as little as you want. There was more vegetables than chicken which I liked and the dish came with a generous serving of white rice. The vegetables were a fresh varied mix and were the perfectly done al dente. I can see myself frequently visiting this place. There was a clam atmosphere with relaxing music in the background. Overall a great experience.

Decent food, horrible service. I’m not sure if it’s always like this since it is a holiday today, but the waiter did not check on us at all. My fiancé asked for a condiment and he didn’t receive for a while, by then we were ready to go.

Sadly, I probably won’t come here again. I am vegetarian & always order the veggie fried rice for delivery. This time around I found 2 pieces of ham in my fried rice and immediately had to throw it away… Come on guys, I always order from you guys, why do this to me? :((

I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to eat here but I finally did last week for lunch with my husband. We love Chinese food and have not found one that we have liked in our area. Coming from California we are used to having great Chinese restaurants and it’s one thing I miss because I grew up with them and have fond memories of many family dinners at them. For starters the lunch menu is very reasonable and has a good selection. We ordered the Chicken in garlic sauce and the Kung Pao Chicken. It came with soup and tea. The Egg Drop soup was like the ones back in Cali and I loved it. The two entrees were very good as well and nice and spicy like we requested. The place is also very clean and nicely decorated with authentic Chinese décor. We had excellent friendly service when we were there. I’m glad to have finally ate here and will be coming back because I hear they have a different«green menu» that is different from the regular menu with special entrees I would like to try for dinner.

Food prices are very high. Just ordered here and they screwed up the order than told me I was lying when I called them to ask about why my order was wrong. This place is OVERRATED. China House beside Publix at Pembroke Rd. and Hiatus is way better and better prices. Go there. Their customer service far exceeds this hack of a place.

What a hidden treasure. Chinese food at an excellent price and value with out compromised QUALITY!!! I asked how long they have been here. Was shocked to hear 20 years. Other Chinese Restaurants should take notice. Listen the food is exquisitely presented and very harmoniously pleasing to the mind body and sole!!! Yummmm a hidden treasure worth holding onto. Fresh and well made!!! And it shows! BRAVO!

If you are looking for a good Chinese place that has plenty of options in this strange little area, here it is for you. The staff is very nice, particularly the service staff. We had a server named Juan. I don’t believe he was Chinese but nevertheless he really knew how to deliver good customer service and make good for someone like me who is working out like a madman and being rather health conscious! The décor, very odd. Cheap furniture and office-like ceilings but we came for the food. Prices are decent and service is good if you find yourself in this neck-of-the-woods!

We walked in this restaurant by accident and have enjoyed this discovery. The food was authentic for Chinese people ourselves. The speed they served our food was amazing, the fastest in all the regular restaurant we have been to. The decoration showed good taste. We will definitely come back.

So I ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special just to be told that: You have to pay extra for the sweet and sour sauce(which I didn’t). When they handed me my takeout bag apparently there was sweet and sour sauce in the bag, so while I’m walking back to my car the staff RUNS out after me and literally rips the sweet and sour sauce out of my bag. «You didn’t pay for this!», the woman yells at me… I didn’t say I word except«Take your sauce». Now I’m thinking, when I get home this food better be good. Then I did. The«lunch» special wasn’t actually a lunch special it was about half the size of a typical takeout chinese food lunch special. The chicken was overcooked and bland, while the rice was disgusting… It literally tasted like cigarettes. They didn’t include an egg roll or soup and didn’t give me a fork, but were thoughtfully deceptive enough to put the fortune cookie and napkins in an egg roll sleeve so when you peek into the bag you think there’s an actual egg roll. I would NEVER recommend going there, Chinese food is too common of a commodity to deal with such nonsense.

I used to like this place since it looked very fancy inside. Food’s ok. Nothing special. One time, I ordered food for take out and asked for extra chopsticks. This older asian man(maybe supervisor) decided to charge me extra 50cents per chopstick. I refuse to support such a greedy business! Sorry, you’re not the only decent Chinese food on the block. You lost a good customer who could have brought good revenue.

This is one of the few places where you can get authentic Chinese food in south Florida — just like Mom used to make(back when she cooked:-). Their fish and tofu in a clay pot is outstanding(!!!) Great Peking duck. They have a yummy authentic Chinese menu, use authentic techniques and ingredients, and generally have very flavourful food. So … why only 3 stars? 1. Things that DONOT belong in my food. There was a dirty penny in the bottom of my fish and tofu. Another time there was ham. Another time a plastic Chinese good luck coin. This happened repeatedly over the 12+ years my family and friends were loyal patrons. This happened to my cousin when she dined there by herself. It happened with at least one dish every time we ate there. The owner, Richie said, «Maybe the cook sees you come in and he does it on purpose.» What??? Are you serious? 2. The host, Kevin, was wonderful. He knew every child who came in the restaurant by name. I had not been in the restaurant in a while and then I was in the new Whole Foods Pembroke Pines and there was Kevin — working for whole foods. He was let go. There are a bunch of Unilocal tips saying how great Kevin is — agreed. So I don’t eat at Dragon Gate every week any more. I’ve had take out twice since I stopped going there 5 years ago. Food is still good and take out, astonishingly, has no foreign objects so I have taken that as a hint.
