Our experience here was really nice. We decided to try this place out for husband’s birthday. We went kind of early on a weekday, around 5pm, so it wasn’t crowded at all. It was kind of a sports bar setting, with a few TVs so you can watch whatever games are on. We chose our meal from the menu, but there’s also a bar you can go to where they make certain specialty foods. The portions were huge compared to the price. And the food was delicious! You’re paying a great price for great food and pretty good portions. They also have a great sushi menu with really good prices. Our waitress seemed a little nervous, but sweet. She may have been new, at least I hope she was. But overall, it’s a pretty decent place to grab a great meal. We’ll definitely be eating there again.

Sushi isn’t bad, but there are better places. The stir fry is why you come here! There are guided suggestions or you can make your own. For a first timer the process can be confusing. But they have a variety of ingredients, sauces, and spices. You can make some amazing dishes. Worth a visit.

From person making sushi, to the waitress, all the way to management team: this place has outstanding customer service. Very attentive to your needs and the place stays clean. I love the professionalism here. Great atmosphere! I will definitely continue to dine here.

I didn’t enjoy the food at all. They forgot about the roll I ordered and after reminding them again, I said nevermind.

First visit. When I first walked in to the hostess stand I noticed two ladies. One was counting money the other was distracted behind the counter. Once she looked up, the second lady greeted me and explained the process. I decided to do the build your own plate to go. The lady pointed me into the restaurant so that I could complete my order. Once I finished the guy that I presumed to be the owner or manager offered me a seat at the bat while I wait. There was a live singer and accompanying pianist playing. I asked the gentleman how frequently they had live music. He informed me usually every other Sunday. I enjoyed my meal from my first visit and came back to dine with a friend. This time I ordered the egg rolls in addition to a drink. I enjoyed the taste of my friend’s dragon fly much better than my apple martini. The egg rolls were standard. A good appetizer to order for a group. I live the dining set up and overall ambience. You can enjoy your meal with the party at your table without feeling to close to another group. I would visit again to dine in our to go. Good spot for a date night.

I’m a very reasonable person but this place advertises hibachi but does not serve the traditional hibachi way because they don’t want to confuse the kitchen. Manager states that he does not make any money off hibachi. I guess my money counts for nothing. The manager needs to learn customer service. Last time here. I will just take my business elsewhere. I will go to a place that appreciates my business like genghis grill with better options and prices or shogun with better service.

I want to talk about my experience but hate going through all the details if I really didnt like it. There was nothing spectacular about the food. OUr waiter was impatient and shot a huge spit ball into my drink while he was trying to explain the concept of the«pick your own veggies bar» He brought another drink over but I didnt want it anymore. Nothing special about my experience therefore I will not be back. The place was empty on a Saturday evening at about 6:00 p.m. I wont return.

I truly like restaurants where you get to pick and choose what type of vegetables, meat/chicken/pork/shrimp along with what spices you want to add to the meal. You also get to choose what type of sauces you would like on your dish. Mongo Bowel is this type of place so it comes highly recommended from me. It was not too long ago that your choices were limited in Pearland however that is just not the case anymore but Mongo Bowel is still one of my favorite spots for lunch in the Peatland area. So if you are in the area stop in and give them a try.

This is a mongolian style restaurant. This means you choose your own vegetables, meat and starch(rice or noodles), you season the the food yourself and choose the sauces. A chef then cooks your food and it is brought to your table. The bad part is the seasoning(salt, etc,) is after you have put your meat in a really small bowl. It is not possible to salt and pepper all the meat, only the meat on the top. I did not like this. I gave it four starts because the taste of the food is very dependant on your choices of food, seasoning and sauces. I did choose fried rice, but I think I received plain rice. Wait staff was not quick. It was hard to get refills. I had lunch, but they seem to be set up for alcoholic beverages and bar service if you want to drink.

Parking: Restaurant is in a shopping center so unless you going during a Black Friday event, you can find parking easily.
Time and Day: Ate on a Friday evening at 6:45PM. For a table for 2 people, we had a 5 minute wait and it did take 5 minutes to get our table. Food: Ordered a Volcano Roll($ 6.95), Yummy Roll($ 3.95), Cajun Roll($ 6.95), and a New York Roll($ 6.95). Out of these four rolls, the Cajun roll was my favorite. In the center of the Cajun roll, is a pile of tasty crawfish so it gets a 5⁄5. The volcano roll was good, but I tasted better at other sushi restaurants so it gets a 4⁄5. New York roll was surprisingly delicious. It reminds me of a shaggy dog roll except using artificial crab so it gets 4⁄5. Finally Yummy roll tastes like a California roll with spicy mayo. Not bad at all so it gets 3⁄5. Overall the food gets 4⁄5. Service: Our waitress was decent. She took our order, served the food, and checked up on us a few times. No complaints so service get s a 5⁄5. Price: Wow, the prices were just unbeatable! For the sushi rolls, even the specialty ones, all of them cost under $ 10! What is even better is that some rolls were just $ 5! For four delicious rolls, I paid under $ 30. As a HUGE sushi fan, this is now my favorite sushi spot. Overall: Food was good, service was good, and the price is almost unbeatable. For this, this restaurant gets a solid 5⁄5. I will be coming back to visit this restaurant in the future.

I went in with my sister and mom during dinner time. The service was alright; because it was busy, our server was a bit busy.(totally understandable) The food was great! I tried the filet mignon and it was super yummy filet mignon was juicy and mouth-watering. Highly recommend it!

I love this place! I always get the customizable bowl and always end up with leftovers(yay). It’s a lot of food. I need to learn how to stack up as many ingredients as possible. ;) Also, I always tell myself that if I don’t like my bowl, it’s my fault because I’m the one who put the ingredients together. But I haven’t had a bowl I didn’t like so far!

Really great place for a reasonably priced, high quality meal. Been here a couple times, had the Mongolian stir fry, which is quite good. However, the standout item was the sushi, which is some of the cheapest you’ll find, but the price definitely doesn’t correlate with the taste. Their sashimi is amazing, and the amount they give you for the cost is really surprising. Even the cheaper rolls are well-made and satisfying; I especially recommend the yummy roll, which is a great combination of tuna and salmon. Seriously a standout place – five stars for great service, sushi, and live music to boot!

My family and I have been coming here from when the time they first opened. We have always enjoyed it and come here quite often. I was skeptical at first, being I have to season my own dish, but from the first bowl I made, I felt like a great chef. I have yet to have a bad bowl here. The sushi is great as well. We love that they place music and have TVs playing the games at night. One occasion that stood out to me was my wife’s birthday in January. I decided to surprise my wife with all of her close friends all in one place. I called Mongo a few nights prior and they said there would be no problem accommodating our large group. The night of, we walked in and just like they said, they had a large space saved for us. All of our friends to this day still rave about the food. They even sang happy birthday and brought out the cake I provided after dinner with the candles lit. If you are in the mood for great Asian food in Pearland, come check this place out!

I am fairly new to Pearland… I’ve been to Mongo a fee times before today. What I’ve had: In the past I’ve had the Mongolian BBQ which is literally what you make of it… if you put gross things in it… it’s going to be gross. If you put good things in it… it’s going to be good. ;) Mine has always been good. What I had today: Today I changed it up am tried the Cajun Roll. 4 thumbs up for me. I was hesitant to try sushi rolls in a new place but I am so happy I did. I also had the crab puffs, they are at the top of my list for crab puffs. No pic of those so you’ll have to take my word for it. Service: The service has always been good since the first time I tried it. Today was extra great. Jamaar was a great server, felt like my son and I were the only customers. Always had drinks and always checked to make sure everything was good. Overall 5 stars from my son and I !!

My sister and I decided to check this place out since her favorite Mongolian place, Genghis Grill isn’t in the area. We arrived after 4pm and there were only about 2 tables of people there. Two more groups came while we were there but it never got busy, and this was a Friday. I’m not sure if that’s how they usually are or not because that was my first time there and most likely last time. Their food was just average. My bowl tasted pretty good because I chose my own ingredients which included many different veggies and chicken with a small amount of dry seasonings. For starters my sister ordered the vegetable tempura and I ordered their calamari with also a madori sour as a drink. The calamari was small and very brown and crispy. It wasn’t the best dish I’ve had. The drink was so sugary I had to send it back and afterwards decided to stick with water. My sister didn’t like her bowl much because the food pieces were really large and she said it tasted like they added another seasoning to her dish. I tried her food and it was a bit salty. My sisters vegetable tempura once she got to the last two pieces had uncooked dough in the middle. I also ordered one of their shrimp tempura rolls to go. Now I know why it was 3.95! Average at best. Overall, this place is not worth a trip back.

I don’t get it. Go elsewhere! The ordering process is unnecessarily complicated(though it means you get more veggies than at somewhere like Genghis) and in spite of using curry powder and coconut curry sauce, there was very little flavour in my bowl. Price was good, the restaurant was large, clean and the staff was friendly but the food was disappointing!
