I come here with my Meetup group(and other times) for the traditional Irish music sessions on Sundays during the winter. I don’t play, but my sister, who DOES play at places in North Carolina, found this place. The main restaurant isn’t in the pretty, «castle» part of the place, but in a downstairs dining room. The place is on a golf course and there is patio seating outside this area in summer. The«pub menu» is smaller than the menu on the web site. It’s standard pub grub, but I’ve found the food to be always fresh, hot, and tasty. GREAT Shepheds pie. They are VERY accommodating here; if tilapia piccata is on the menu and you want chicken piccata instead, they’ll make it for you. Your party wants separate checks? No problem. Extra soda bread without asking for it? They heard you waxing rhapsodic about it. Want to sit for 2 hours? No worries either. Very, very nice wait staff and nice crowd. My only beef(heh) with the place is that the Irish music sessions are only during the winter months. They are 5 – 7PM on Sundays from late November into March. This is the only traditional Irish music session in the area at all, let alone one that’s open to all who play. This is a fun way to hear traditional music played by people who do it because they love it – and at a volume that still lets you enjoy conversation. Is the management reading this? Count me in for a vote for year-round music sessions!

Food was great, I would highly recommend Emmett’s Castle for any type of private party. The staff was brilliant. Emmett’s Fish and Chips was super.

Don’t waste your time or money coming to this restaurant. The food is barely edible. It is over cooked, and way overpriced. I have been to Emmett’s several times with various golf outings, and the food has not been good at any of them.

My family(4 adults) went to Emmett’s Castle for dinner. It was a very bad experience all around. We had also gone for the Mother’s Day brunch as well and was very disappointed with it but thought we would give it another chance for dinner. We went to Emmett’s at 6:30 for dinner. We were not out until after 9 because of slow and poor service. There were approx. 6 other tables in the restaurant at the time. I have never experienced such bad service in a restaurant. Besides the terrible service, the food was cold and not edible. We got steaks and fish. The steaks were completely fatty and bad cuts and the fish(cod and crab cakes) were disgusting. We won’t be giving Emmett’s castle a third try!

This was a truly disappointing dining experience. on Mother’s Day no less. We went to Emmett’s for the Mother’s Day Brunch and were greeted by young, inexperienced wait staff and a gentleman manning the omelet station who had never made an omelet. My mother’s omelet was also undercooked. I cut into my freshly made omelet and found runny egg, like straight, thin liquid. I asked him to cook it some more, which he happily did, but admitted he’d never made an omelet before. Really, Emmett’s? They served you coffee in impossibly small cups and never showed up again for refills. The wait staff, while nice, were inexperienced in attending to customers needs. The buffet was nothing to write home about. small selection of fruit and desserts. To boot, they had the fruit plater sitting right in the sun on a nice 75 degree day. Food was average at best. I gave Emmett’s 2 stars because they gave my mother a rose for Mother’s Day.

I came to Emmett’s for the open music night, which sounds like lots of fun, but I guess it depends on who decides to show that night. It was fun anyway. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, and probably not enough to bring me back on its own. The«castle» is pretty but dated and could use some sprucing up and honoring of its age.

Disappointing. Expected a nicer atmosphere. I wouldn’t call it a pub but rather a place for golfers to eat after playing for the day. My son had the ribs and said they were good. I ordered the chicken pot pie and while it was tasty, they should have called it potato pot pie. It was filled with potato cubes. There might have been one cube of chicken sliced up and I had to search for it!
