Dairy Queen

Every time I’m shopping at pearl highlands and would like a dessert, DQ is the place! I always get an oreo blizzard, something with cheesecake blizzard, Reeses blizzard, or a regular caramel sundae. Customer Service is always welcoming with a Hello and Goodbye/​Thank you. At this particular visit I came here with my Dad and son to get a snack and we tried out the $ 6 meal deal with a choice of hotdog, chips, drink, and a sundae! I asked if we could get the sundaes after we finished our food and the lady who helped us said of course! When I came back to get our sundaes after we ate, she already knew why I came up to the counter and memorized the flavors we ordered.
All I ask from DQ is to bring back the Pepperoni Pizza Dog back! haha. Pizza toppings on a hotdog is delicious! The bacon cheese dog I had with this meal in particular wasn’t all that great for me but was good enough for me to eat it all.

Worst customer service. A girl named Katie I think? Gave me so much attitude. Worst customer service ever.

Wednesday May 27, 2015 I was exploring parts of the Pearl Highland Center. I decided to enter the food court and check out what type of food establishments that were in business.
I noticed the Dairy Queen and Orange Julius was sharing the same booth. I walked up to the counter and was looking at the menu when a male employee came out from the back room and says «I’m sorry to keep you waiting.» I told the employee Ale «No problem… I just got here.»
I was debating if I should get my usual OREO Blizzard or have something else. I opted to have a hot fudge sundae. I had asked Ale if they take credit cards as payment and he said «Yes, we do take credit cards»…that’s good to know. I paid for my hot fudge sundae via credit card.
While Ale was making my sundae I noticed that this food establishment had passed the Department of Health food inspection. Any food establishment that has the green placard showing will always gain my business.
As soon as my hot fudge sundae was ready I grabbed it and decided to sit at one of the tables closest to Dairy Queen/​Orange Julius. I was enjoying my ice cream sundae and watching other people order their ice cream cones. When I was finished with my entire dessert for the evening and getting ready to leave Ale looked at me and waved GOODBYE. I in turn gave him the SHAKA sign.

Service is so much better here compared to their Victoria Ward location!
We got here when they were training 2 new employees and we got their attention and got the ball rolling.
Used my bf’s Buy One Get One coupon and ordered 2 Julius Originals, one Orange and one Strawberry Banana. The quality was on point and I truly enjoy it.
I definitely will be back to this location again!

Currently waiting to order something. It has been 20 minutes and no one is here to take my order. There is a sign that says they will be back shortly. Horrible service ever. Hire more people. It’s not that busy, therefore you can take a break while no one is here, but check for customers…

There are were a few times I order at Dairy Queen I always order the bizzard this time the service was so slow .they should of put 2 people in front the wait was 25 minutes. he never follow the proper hand washing technique.

This place sells ice cream and hot dogs. How difficult can this be…
Well, I order hot dog and hot fudge Sunday. Guy makes my Sunday first and decides to hold it until my dog is done, which apparently takes 10 minutes because the customer before me ordered two chili dogs and they ran out of chili, and they told him it will take 15 – 20 min to make more — after the fact, so he changed his order.
Then my mom ordered a hot dog and drink right after me, they gave her the drink but the dog never came out. She went to ask and they told her they made it already? And they tell her another customer probably took it??? There were only three of us there. Then proceed to tell her it will now take 15 – 20 more minutes becasue they RAN OUT OF HOT DOGS?! Lol.
So I’m looking at my melted cold fudge Sunday and told her just get a refund and ordered cheeseburgers next door. Priceless.

I’m tempted to give it one star based on my last experience here… last night after dinner I took my son to dq to get a cone. we were third in line patiently waiting. as the two people in front of us stepped up to order, the young girl working the cash register puts her hand out and says they’re closed. the guys ask what time they close, they say 9. I look at my phone and see it says 8:55. a little annoyed that they had us waiting in line that whole time, I just shrug and think ‘well I guess that’s close enough to 9?’ after a few minutes of chatting with friends I excuse myself to the restroom. on my way back out I see a man and his two daughters paying for ice cream… they are handed their cones and I look at the clock. it’s 5 minutes past ‘closing’… ten minutes past the time they turned myself, the people in front of me, and the woman behind me, away. talk about shady. I was very annoyed… but I’ll give it 2 stars because it’s ok to come here for a quick fix as long as you don’t go near the very grey line of ‘closing time’

I wish our DQ here in hawaii would have the same menu as the DQ in the mainland! We’re so limited to the basics here! I get the banana milk shake and I add peanut butter and chocolate. I can remember when i was a child and KC drive inn was the place to go for there ono ono shakes and waffle dogs… well this combination of banana, chocolate, and peanut butter is the closes thing yet to the famous ono ono shake!

It’s always a hit and miss on the mixture consistency of the blizzards. My usual order is the «Georgia mud fudge» blizzard and sometimes the soft serve on the bottom doesn’t mix with the chocolate syrup. But since this is the closest DQ location to service the west side of the island, I find myself coming back — perfect blizzard mixture or not.

No, just no. This place has some of the rudest employees I’ve ever encountered. The treats are delish but not that great for me to put up with rude people. That’s a big no-​no. Not sure how they ever got hired.

Oh Dairy Queen… what can I say? Same ol soft serve dipped cones, Blizzards, etc. with mediocre.
The fiancée and I were at Pearl Highlands Food Court the other day for dinner, when I saw the Mint Oreo Blizzard on the menu board. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try. When the order was completed, the cashier couldn’t seem to figure out how much we owed, giving two different prices. All the while, she was discussing with her other co-​worker as to weather or not the previous customers had ordered 3 shakes, which she later found they did when she reviewed the order ticket. I guess that should have been a sign of things to come.
I did order the Mint Oreo Blizzard but ended up with a vanilla Oreo Blizzard instead. I went back and told them of the problem, and to my amazement/​disbelief, all the employee did was shoot some green liquid into my Blizzard and re-​blend it. So the mint Blizzard isn’t made with mint ice cream, it’s made with an overly sweet, faux mint flavored syrup… very disappointed. I wouldn’t order that again.
So if you go to Dairy Queen, I’d recommend staying away from any of the flavors and just stick with vanilla. Oh, and don’t expect to get your price read to you correctly!

Been a while since I had Dairy Queen. Stopped by before going to the movies, so did everyone else! Wow they were busy but the line moved fast the two girls were on it! They said they haven’t been that busy in a long time.
Being in line has it’s advantage it gives you time to look over the menu. Couldn’t decide sundae, dipped cone or something else. Ended up with an Oreo Brownie Earthquake, seriously I don’t think I could have gone wrong with anything. My gf had the dipped cone. Orders up in a couple minutes, these workers are good.

Once again, I’m giving this place one of my 3 ½ star ratings.
Service was fine. They get extra credit because someone we knew was doing the Blizzards and they flipped it over for us, which was pretty cool.
I had the banana cream pie, wifey had the Reese’s. As expected, both hit the spot. It was actually crowded on a weeknight, but then again, it is summer and I guess this may be the nearest ice cream spot in this area.
I would’ve rated this place higher, but I can’t stand the prices. I’m definitely Chang, but I don’t see how people buy ice cream from these types of places when any Foodland sells a half gallon for about 3 – 4 bucks.
However, it was delicious, AND we had one of those BOGO coupons from signing up on some Blizzard Fan Club site. At least we saved money there.
We also bought some fries to go with those «shakes» and that was our dinner for the night. Yeah, unhealthy, but fun, fun, fun! I can see how families with kids get lured to this place on a Sunday afternoon.

Service needs working on…
I understand if your having a bad day and/​or you don’t feel like working, but leave the salty attitude at home.
Today the guy never smiled, when giving me change he just plopped it in my hand and the coins fell, and when serving me my cone he couldn’t even say a simple «thanks».
Better customer service is needed!

The staff is helpful and the dessert I ordered came out jus the way I expected. There was a little confusion over the menu however. I requested a cappuccino milk shake but apparently the cappuccino is a moo’latte. My confusion was that the flavor cappuccino is not listed under the moo’latte category but the milk shake one. The employee was more than happy to add the cappuccino flavoring to the milkshake. Four stars!

The service, not so much. The teenage ladies there are too preoccupied talking about piercings & drama rather than doing their job. Stood at counter for awhile while they «hid» behind the counter/​divider talking, like hello we can see you & I’m pretty damn sure you can see us.
Went back another time to see if they were just having a bad day, & because it’s the closest to where I live, & the service was still meh. I understand, you’re an angsty teen but jeez…

I love when they turn the blizzards UPSIDEDOWN! It never ceases to amuse me =P
That said, this DQ/​Orange Julius has always been good to me (although, I’ve never ordered anything on the OJ side yet) and today was no exception. Currently they have a buy one get one for 25cents deal~! *equal or lesser size* but oh my, two kids size ones are more than enough really. My friend and I ordered the blizzard of the month, which was Caramel Brownie, and also the Hawaiian blizzard, which was toasted coconut shreds, with bananas and pineapple flavors. There wasn’t that much caramel so it was more chocolatey for the brownie one, and I don’t know if I tasted pineapple really… but the coconut was really good!

This place has the best soft serve ice cream. Especially dipped in chocolate! Like heaven on a cone plus the way the make it is not like other soft serves where the ice cream is twirled, its more like little snowmen bodies (if you know what i mean). Their blizzards are also very good, nice and thick, it even shows when they turn it upside down. You cant really go wrong with any thing here. The only thing that bites is that its not a full DQ that also sells food such as hamburgers/​sandwiches/​hot dogs like the ones in the mainland but o wellz the ice cream is still the bomb.
