Quench Wine

I went in to this liquor store last night and was horrified at my experience. The cashier didn’t greet me and when I went to pay she did not pull her eyes away from her phone and continued to text for about 30 seconds before looking up. Finally she decided to ring me up and tried to charge me more than the marked price on the shelf. I went over to show her that at least 10 bottles of that wine were in the rack at that price and she yelled, «It’s marked wrong and too bad, it’s that price.» I said «You need to honor the marked price. The price you are giving me is nowhere near that shelf.» She yelled «I just work here! That’s the price!» I walked out. I tried to call today and speak to a manager and the same girl answered. She told me that there is no manager and asked why I needed to speak to one. I said I would just like to speak to someone in charge. She said «the owner no here today» and hung up on me. Unbelievable that a business could be run this way. Disgusting.

Love it here, the staff are super friendly and helpful. You really get the impression that they want to match you up with exactly what you are looking for. I’m not much of a wine guy but the wines I’ve had there (they do tastings occasionally, follow on Facebook) or purchased from there are always delicious. More often than not, I’m going for liquor and although their liquor selection is limited, it is very high quality. Sometimes I stop in just when I’m walking by to say «hi» to whoever is working and see what’s new, and I almost always end up seeing something interesting and purchasing it. If you are looking for high quality and friendly staff, this is the place for you!

Went in there on Sat while Andrea and her friend were minding the store. Limited selection of wines but they seemed very good. Prices range from teens to $ 50+. They have tastings too. Follow on twitter/​fb for details.
