Citta Pizzeria and Ristorante

This was latest pizza open in Pasadena, but sadly is already closed it open like only couple months. It located in the second floor right next to Sumiko Sushi Vietnamese Restaurant. It wasn’t easy to find this place in the map, unless you been there before.
I came here for the groupon deal, which was such good deal, they do gave you a lot of food for your money. The quality was not bad but could had been better. There was almost no business during lunchtime that was about 3 months ago. I do had a feeling this place might not survive long term.
This place was small only got a few tablet, the pizza took some time to come, and service was good.

Boo, came by here this late afternoon with my husband for a late lunch and they were closed. Through the windows, you can see that there are no tables and chairs and it just looks some of their items removed.
This place must be closed because of the way it looked inside and also they were closed during their business hours. Also when you call their business number, you will get an error message that this number is no longer in service.
(By the way, this place is located in the same building as Mako Bowl & Europane. There is street parking, free for 1 hour).

This restaurant is currently remolding and will be closed for a month. Will update my review when I get a chance to try them once they reopen.

I bought a Livingsocial deal for Citta, and let me say, I will definitely be coming back. GO GO GO, THIS IS PASADENA’S HIDDEN PIZZERIA GEM!
I guess it was unfortunate for the other reviewers who cried about service, but service was great for my mother and I! We were checked on periodically (not too little or too often, just the right amount) and staff was personable, friendly, and great conversationalists!
We ordered two medium pizzas– Margarita and Pasta Vodka. They were made fresh and on the spot, and were ready in 10 minutes. Piping hot and steamy with crispy crusts were delivered onto our table in no time and the first bite, and every bite after, was heaven. The basil on the margarita wasn’t wilted, served whole, lots of mozzarella, and olive oil drizzle. The Pasta Vodka did not disappoint! Creamy and decadent. My brother loved it.
I’m going to reiterate: Pasadena locals and out of towners, do your taste buds a favor and eat here. Prices are unbeatable ($ 8 medium GOURMET pizzas!!!), super fast service (who doesn’t want their pizza as soon as possible?), and fantastic flavors!

The food was pretty good for the price. We ordered calamari and veggie pizza. When they brought our pizza out a slice fell onto the floor. The owner then made us a brand new pizza for us. Really good customer service!

This place is amazing! Great place to study. Best pizza this side o the missisippi. Honey mustard, salmon broccoli, you name it and it’s here. The guys that run the place are really cool too.

Came in on a groupon deal and planning on coming back for family pizza nights! A great price for a big pizza with lots of toppings. **also hard to find-​its upstairs in a building complex.

Great! Very friendly staff! The owner from the East coast making NY style pizza. The cook was also nice.
Food: Ordered 1XL ½ veggie ½ meat. Veggie had a good mix of veggies but could use more sauce and cheese (in our opinion). The meat was yummm. Flavorful, moist.
The dough is bomb. Crispy and thin but not too thin or crispy.
Looking forward to trying the vodka sauce!

I ordered calamari, buffalo wings and disco fries for delivery. The food arrived timely and hot. The portion sizes are on the smaller size, and even the actual wings are fairly small. However, I will definintely be returning to this restaurant.
The calamari was the best I’ve had in a very long time! The order came with legs and rings, etc. instead of the frozen rings you find in some restaurants. It was lightly breaded rather than thick and greasy breading.
As mentioned above, the actual wings are fairly small. I’m a wimp when food is too jalepeno-​hot but I have a love for Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. The wing sauce provided is similar in taste to Frank’s Red Hot Sauce so I loved it!
The Disco Fries were not what I expected. Disco Fries drown in gravy with melted mozzarella cheese on top. I’m from the east coast so I expected them to be similar to the ones you find out there. These disco fries were shoestring fries, with very thin, light-​colored gravy and only a bit of mozzarella cheese. They were good but not what I expected. East coast fries are prepared using steak fries, a thick, dark brown gravy with mozzarella cheese melted on top to the point that you can’t even see the fries. So, the ones here are defnitely much healthier but don’t taste as good ;)
On a future visit, I will alter the fries and see if I can get my perfect east coast Disco Fries order ;)

The employees here are super friendly, they have a large selection of pizzas and pastas. When you order pasta it comes with a side salad and bread — such a great deal! They also have a good lunch special for 5.99.

If I reviewed this restaurant after my first couple of times ordering from here, it would have gotten a 5 star.
I order for lunch at work. Pizza was great the first time. The burger was incredible and fries crisp the second time. Third time the pizza was good again.
Then I ordered a fourth time. The burger was dry, cold and under seasoned. The fries were cold, limp and sitting in a pool of oil. I just threw those away. OK, let’s stick with pizza. Ordered a pizza for my staff. Again, cold, and the crust was floppy. Gross.
No thanks. I’m not paying for that level of grossness.

WOn’t be returning unfortunately. The food is old and cold. The pizza was cold and likely from the night before. We got a slice pepperoni. The pepperoni pizza consisted of slices of pepperoni placed on top of an old dried out cheese pizza. When we turn the pizza upside down the pepperoni fell off! LOL. That’s how old the cheese was.
The philly cheesesteak was also bad. The meat was dried and they use frenchfries and industrial american cheese on the sandwich. Weird. it should be provolone or white cheese. We just ripped off the clumps of yellow cheese/​fries prior to eating it.
This is a new establishment– so I’ll give it two stars. Though the food deserves 1. But the owner should consider making sure the cheese is at least melted and that the store opens on time. (We waited outside for a while for them to open after 11 and dined-​in, so there is no excuse for the cold food)

C’mon, how do you screw up on a pizza? It tasted like heated frozen pizza from a grocery store. Also, the pepperoni was barely heated.
The cheese steak sandwich was dry. There was no sauce on it, not even mustard.

Only a drunk, stoned out individual with the taste buds of a child would call this «pizza». Thank god they’re near the college to sustain their existence. Got it cold after 1 ½ hours and missing items from the order. Sorry, they as people seemed nice, we’re just talking about the food. I hope I offended the ingredients but not the staff.

I made a Unilocal account JUST to write this. I have never in my life had pizza this amazing, nor been this excited about an establishment. AMAZING food, great service, the owner is super nice and loves to meet his customers. I dont order out a lot but i ALWAYS will order from them, you cant beat an XL pizza for 13 $.
More Pros:
1) Try the plain cheese pizza, it will blow your mind.
2) They have MORE than just pizza (and its all good)
3) The delivery boy is hot
4) The owner is hot

Seriously the BEST DAMN BURGER EVER!!! My BF says the Pizza was way better. We were going order again but the sad news is they are closed Sunday.
They were prompt, hot and amazing.

Excellent service and delicious/​reasonably priced pizza! This restaurant is recently opened and already they were marketing themselves through Groupon. I was very impressed at the food; you would think they have been here for years. We got the vodka chicken pizza and the buffalo pizza, and disco fries (like poutine). The fries were salty but everything was so freshly made and delicious. The vodka sauce was melt-​in-​your-​mouth amazing, and the gooey cheese proved to be a perfect combination. The chicken had a breading on it, which was interesting, and with the buffalo sauce, it felt like you were eating wings. This is definitely a unique pizza place and I will be coming back for more!

This was super yummy! We ordered the Chicken Parm pizza and garlic knots. Very good flavors on pizza, awesome thin crust and the garlic knots were fluffy and chewy, just how we like them!
We ordered delivery and it came in shorter amount estimated. It was hot and the delivery guy was very friendly!

What a treasure of a great restaurant! I came here with my two friends last night and the owners were very hospitable.
Don’t knock it until you try their food. It was wonderful, way better than the overpriced place Neopolitan on Lake and the subpar food they serve.
We ordered a half Margarhita and Citta medium pizza, Chicken Marsala, Zuppa (seafood), and the Disco fries. Everything was great!
The house salad and bread were excellent. Some of the best that Pasadena has to offered. The prices were great too.
Come and support this wonderful new local business. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
I would say to the owners that you guys got to print more menus and get the word out. Keep making them delicious food!

I loved this place! Pizza was amazing and the service was great! Definitely try the buffalo pizza. What I loved the most is that the crust was thin and cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back! Oh and the grand opening special gives you 2 gourmet slices and a soda for $ 5.25…it can’t get any better than that!

The food was amazing! Great service and quality food! The buffalo pizza was the best slice of pizza I’ve had in a while, definitely a must try if you stop by!
