Nick & Jake’s

Burger good but needs more seasoning — so says my son Jacob. My Asian chicken salad was good. Seemed healthy. My wife liked her crab cakes and my other son liked his pot stickers.

ALWAYS a family favorite! Something for everyone, even the picky littles love it here. (brunch, salads, burgers, steaks, meatloaf…)

I have been here a few times and have always had excellent service, tonight was no different, always a server with a smile, great food, I had the bourbon salmon with the Jake salad, hubby had the French dip. Great place, great food, great atmosphere, and added bonus Royal’s game for him and playoff hockey for me.

Ordered half slab of ribs with fries. Food was great and the server was very kind and helped out a bit on deciding. Would definitely go back

Searched Unilocal after a big day of meetings and boy was everybody right on point with all the reviews. Great atmosphere, great ambience and amazing service. Hopefully the magician is there when you visit and if he is, good luck figuring out his tricks ! Will visit again when I’m in town.

Great bar food. Wonderful place to watch the game as they have TV’s everywhere you look. We love the patio when it’s nice out. The service is top notch.

I came here solely on the Unilocal reviews and they were dead on. I walked in and it was packed. I go to wash my hands and it was much less empty, due to happy hour. The bar staff is friendly and very attentive. I ordered the salmon BLT and fries. Both were fantastic. I will definitely revisit on my next KC trip.

We have dined at Nick and Jake’s a few times over the past several months. They really have stepped up their game as service has been awesome and the food as always is delicious. I highly recommend their Reuben sandwich and their Sunday Brunch.

Not a bad thing on their menu. Great specials and drink selections. Its all about quality and Good prices for the quality you get. Their pork tenderloin sandwich is amazing. Not all greasy and nasty like some do it. It’s breaded and fried, but comes with cinnamon apples and cheese on it. Tastes like dessert. They don’t upcharge for changes to your sides as well. Nice to get sweet potato fries, or cinnamon apples instead. They also don’t charge to split a salad/​meal. Little things like that will keep us coming back.

If you like sports bars, this one is a good one. Lots of tvs to watch and cheer your teams. I’ve had the Reuben sandwich, and the buffalo chicken salad. Both were tasty as was the crab dip! Service can be good or excellent depending on who your server is.

So this is my second time at Nick and Jakes. After hearing multiple people talk about how good it is, my fiancé and I took the chance to go try their breakfast! Let’s start with the pros. The fact that they offered a breakfast buffet. The setup was really nice and spacious. Our service was excellent. The cons, $ 19 per person and drinks not included? Eh. that’s okay no biggie. However I have to say their lunch items on their buffet are way better than their breakfast items. I personally wasn’t a fan of their biscuits and gravy or omlettes. But their Mac n cheese and penne pasta were amazing! I liked their muffins too. One star deducted for the fact that none of the buffet food items were hot, all kind of room temperature, and the other for the lack of taste (in my opinion) on their breakfast items. Will definitely be back for their lunch and dinner menu!

Nice bar in parkville, definitely want to return. I went on a Saturday for lunch and they had several specials for food and drinks. I chose the $ 5 Bloody Mary special. The server was really friendly and knowledgeable — he asked how spicy I liked my Bloody Mary and gave me options like spicy vodka (which I got) and a salted rim. I like when the servers seem to care about your experience and options. I chose the shrimp and grits for my meal — it was good but the BBQ sauce was a bit heavy. I want to go back and try some other menu options including their brunch.

This is a great place to go to lunch. Especially if you work and are on a tight schedule. Fast and friendly service. Today I had The Cuban sandwich with chips. This sandwich consist of pork loin, pit ham, mustard, mayo, mozzarella, Swiss, pickles, all on a tasted hoagie. Chips were fresh and made in house. As you can see by the picture I did not leave hungry.

Nick & Jakes always hits the spot! Ribs, steak, quesadilla, salad, appetizers, shrimp and grits — you name it, they’re doing it right! They put their own twist on each dish so it’s never boring so you honestly can’t go wrong regardless of what you order.
It’s a great spot with lots of seating options. The dining side to the left is calm and mellow with dark toned walls and dimmed lighting. The bar side on the right is boisterous but not overwhelming with plenty of TVs for entertainment. They also have a semi private room for larger groups that looks like a living/​rec room.
The service is outstanding as well. They are always very friendly and have given great suggestions on which dishes to pick (since it’s tough to decide when you know it’s all delicious!)

Outstanding! This was my first time and It was excellent. I got the weekly special burger. The patty was beef and sausage, great idea, not to mention It had Mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce and pepperoni! We sat outside, it seems to be a pretty popular place to smoke but the décor outside is classy and cozy, plus the Royals game was on outside too! I will confirm inside is no smoking. Waiter was nice! As a matter of fact… about 5 to 10 minutes after our food came out he brought more fries. He said his manager thought there wasn’t enough fries on our original plates. We thought it was fine but who argues with extra fries?!

First time being here and our waitress was nice and the food was delicious. Most likely be returning for another go around.

Well Nick & Jakes… you’ve redeemed yourself. Today was Mother’s Day and my hubby made reservations here, even though we haven’t been here in a very long time. I will be honest. I wasn’t extremely excited. But go with the flow I did… and put on a happy face. We arrived early. A huge line greeted us. We checked in, were whisked to our waiting reserved table and were seated within 2 minutes upon arrival. Impressive. Today N&J’s was an extremely well oiled machine. Food was continuously brought out hot, quick and regularly.
Items were fresh and tasty! Just like the old Nick & Jakes that we remembered from ghosts of restaurants past! I was a very pleased mama today.
This means we may have to go back again and give them another shot at dinner. I hope today wasn’t a fluke. But I definitely left with a much better impression.
Note to waiters/​head waiters/​staff: I know it was busy today, but early in the morning for breakfast/​brunch, when your day is just starting, try to crack a smile. ;)

Cool neighborhood place… The Irish nachos are sooo good! They are fried potatoes covered in cheese and bacon and green onions. I would get that every time I come. They have nice outdoor seating and TVs so you can watch the game. Staff is also friendly and they have reverse happy hour that I would come back for. Might be a new fave hangout. I need to come here more often!

This is a family go to, always good food and good service. Go for the Sunday brunch, you won’t be disappointed!
The blue cheese chips appetizer is excellent and I can trimmed the pork tenderloin sandwich.
If it matters they treat the kids well with a little cheese plate and nice meal offerings including steak.

Came this past weekend for brunch with my grandparents since it’s one of their favorite places in Parkville and I can definitely see why.
We decided to order off the menu instead of doing the brunch since we didn’t want to eat ourselves into a food coma. Everything smelled and looked fantastic though on the buffet.
I opted for the asian chicken salad (luckily I got the ½ because it was quite large!), Grandma got the bruschetta and a cup of crab bisque and Grandpa got the ribs. Although it was funny to have a mimosa at breakfast, the grandparents were all for a beer and glass of wine with their meal also.
The quick service, yummy food and good vibes made for a nice meal. If I would have checked out the bar area, I’m sure it would have brought the review to a 5… Ah well– always next time!
