As a resident, I love supporting local. But they were very rude about an appraisal and I didn’t find anything about them to be conducive to interest in being affable like the rest of Uptown shop holders.

I just came across my receipt in some old files. I’m not sure how you say I never had work done there. Another lie.

I have admittedly split my business between HS and one other local Park Ridge jeweler. HS has always done right by me with beautiful pieces at competitive prices. My Mom has also trusted them for years and she has always had great results even when looking for gifts and not knowing exactly what she’s looking for. They have been able to hit it out of the park on everything from engraved silver baby rattles, repairs on older pieces owned by my grandparents all the way up to diamond rings and earrings.

My mom decided to surprise me for Christmas with some gorgeous diamond hoops from here. Of course, just my luck the clasp on one was broken, and they needed to be returned. While looking at replacements, the topic came up of my favorite ring(I was wearing it), and how I’d love to have a diamond version of it. They said it’d be a piece of cake, quoted me $ 450 to get it done, and we made plans for me to come back and finalize the quote the following week. When I came back the next week, the same people I previously spent a good half hour talking to didn’t seem to remember me. Oh, and all of a sudden my ring was $ 800. And, they said they’d need to make a mold of the old one, which would destroy it. Wait, what?! It was a simple band with a teardrop on the bottom, and that was the first I heard of it being impossible to recreate without the mold. Anyways, I reminded them of the original quote, and they looked at me like I was crazy. I brought up the hoops I still had to return, other parts of our convo from the week before, and got… crickets. In the end they knocked the price down to $ 750. Still dying for my ring, I asked if I could get the diamond myself, after looking it up on Blue Nile and seeing I could get the $ 300 diamond they wanted to sell me for a third of the price. They said no. I was done trying to work things out, no longer wanted to do business with them, and asked for my money back on the earrings, which they refused. Luckily, at the time my mom was the secretary at the big church across the street, and one phone call from her was all it took to get the money back, so I’ll give them a star for that.

I will echo the others… very nice couple running the place. Bought my wedding ban there with my honey yesterday. They were able to show me a nice product and give me a comfortable atmosphere to patiently make my decision. They seem to have a undiscovered store… and I would like to see them get a little more traffic. I love Park Ridge and they help embody what I like about that area… so go there and see them. P. S. they also cleaned my girl’s ring for free as we were leaving and that was a nice touch :)

This store is run by a lovely couple. I bought gifts for my fiancée and my mother here for Christmas 2007. The prices were right, and the pieces are absolutely beautiful. The prices are no higher than you’d expect to pay for quality jewelery and the owners are people you will want to do business with for years to come. They were most kind, understanding, and ready and willing to help without being overbearing.

I went to High Society Jewelers for a baptism gift for my Godson. There was a great selection of small crosses that were very appropriate. I was so pleased by the selection, as I was afraid I wouldn’t find anything! There’s also a great selection of diamonds. I know others who are regulars there, and everything I’ve seen them with is gorgeous. The couple who owns the shop are friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Not a lot of pressure. Very pleasant experience!
