Excellent meal food and atmosphere were super! Heavy in the carbs, cherry cornbread, polenta, goat cheese mashed potatoes. All excellent. The Mexican Shrimp, Meatloaf and fried Chicjen each had a unique twist.

Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday at Purple Sage last night, and we were very happy with our meal. While neither of us would say that Purple Sage is outstanding, the atmosphere of the restaurant is great, waitress was very nice, and the food left us more than satisfied. To start, we shared the charcuterie board which we were both very happy with(comes with pickles, for you pickle lovers like me who would want to order them as a side, not necessary if you get this board!). I had the meatloaf and he had the duck for our entrees. I loved the meatloaf, which came with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts, it had a delicious sweet salsa on top that elevated the meatloaf to the next level. The duck was also very good, but would have preferred it to be cooked slightly more rare. For dessert we shared a brownie, which was very yummy and they nicely added a candle so we could celebrate his birthday in the correct fashion! Finally — we brought in our own bottle of wine and corkage was $ 20. Not terrible. Overall, this place is solidly 4 stars. We would definitely go back but not before trying some of the other restaurants we have on our list. Thanks for a fun night, Purple Sage!

We dine out at least twice a week and this place is in our top three for the SLC area, next to Valters and Manolis for matching quality and price points. I am more than happy to pay $ 30+ an entrée when the quality of food lives up to the price, which is not something you find in SLC often, hence the trip to PC for dinner. Had the charcuterie(house made), wedge, meatloaf, and the brownie and they ALL were absolutely delicious. Best charcuterie board I have had since moving to Utah four years ago. The brownie was out of this world good as was the meatloaf. Every plate we saw go by our table looked absolutely delicious with ridiculously large portions of protein. The ambiance is nice and mellow with little pretention and an incredibly professional kitchen, no yelling no rushing, just hard at work; the waiting area is near the kitchen, hence the comment. It would be five stars but our waiter was bad, I’ve served for over 10 years and I will cut a server some serious slack, this guy seemed bothered to have to wait on us. Barely made eye contact, seemed like he would rather be doing anything else. I realize ski season is a tough grind but, seriously? By the time we got our salad he wasn’t even stopping, just slowing down a bit as he walked by to talk to us. Really unprofessional and took the happy glow off the entire meal. Other than that one glitch, the place is absolutely delicious and was a much needed break from the wood pallets, brushed steel, and over-inflated egos and menus in the SLC valley.

Such a warm and cozy place! Really enjoyed our dinner here while on a ski trip in Park City. Much bigger restaurant than it seems from the outside. My husband and I shared the chicken tamale pancake appetizer and loved it. It comes with 3 pieces. You could definitely pair this with another starter to have as an entrée rather than something from the entrée section. They also brought over a bread basket that included delicious little corn muffins with dried fruit. For my main dish, I had the grilled white Mexican shrimp which came with a very delicious cream-based sauce. The portion was quite large and I didn’t end up finishing it all. My husband had the veal meatloaf and was a big fan. Overall it was a great evening. The restaurant was bustling on a Thursday night, but I’m not sure if that’s just because of Sundance or if it is reservations-required busy throughout ski season.

This place is AWESOME. We got here right when it opened at 5:30 pm, only table and the wait staff has been great. House made potato chips to start were really good, and the salads and charcuterie board were excellent too. I ordered the braised buffalo short ribs and I can’t believe how tender and tasty they are… No need for a knife. My dad got the mexican shrimp with polenta and everyone loves it. My wife got the butternut squash ravioli and can’t stop talking about it. And, awesome beer selection. Best place we’ve eaten in Park City all week. Definitely coming back next time we are in town.

A group of us came up to Park City for a birthday dinner. We came to Purple Sage, hearing good things from multiple people. We were not disappointed. To start, we ordered the chicken tamale pancakes and they were awesome and full of flavor. We also ordered the fried Brussels sprouts. My husband usually won’t eat them but he was devouring these. The salty pork belly added the perfect salty bite! Bae ordered the chicken, which was the special for the night. He said it was just ok but he wished he had ordered something else. The skin wasn’t crispy and it lacked a little flavor. I ordered the short rib. I loved it! The meat was really tender and the potatoes and carrots were perfect. I’ve heard they have a really great wine selection but I was drinking whiskey that night and they have a great drink menu. All in all, a great meal with great friends!

This has to be one of the very best restaurants in Park City … consistently, year-in, year-out. Unsurprisingly, we had another fantastic meal this trip. What was a surprise was the house made charcuterie platter. Wow … unbelievably good! It featured a fantastic prosciutto ham(so good, I asked to buy some to take home … but no luck), alligator andouille sausage, pork pâté, a chipotle infused goat cheese, and two different kinds of cheddar. Everything(except presumably the cheeses) is made in house by the chef, and he clearly knows what he is doing with cured meats! The platter was accompanied with house made pickles, which were equally delicious! For the entrée, I tried the chicken fried chicken, a boneless breast in a thick, crunchy coating that kept the chicken very juicy. It was smothered with a chorizo gravy(fantastic idea, I’m trying that one next time I make sausage gravy) that didn’t overpower the chicken, but definitely added to the taste experience. On the side were some addictive dutch oven potatoes served in an iron skillet, and some nicely crunchy green beans. This dish is comfort food with a capital C! My wife tried Purple Sage’s famous veal meatloaf(that we have had before), which while clearly meatloaf, was amped up with veal, poblanos, and pine nuts. It was topped with a delicious sweet tomato chili sauce that put ketchup to shame, and a side of whipped potatoes and brussels sprouts. Now I’m not the world’s biggest meatloaf fan, but let me tell you, this stuff is good! We also tried out the«Uncle Val’s Garden» cocktail, which was absolutely wonderful! I can’t wait to go back this summer and knock off, oh, 3 or 4 of these when it is a bit warmer outside. With dinner, we had a bottle of Inizi Charbono, a very unusual red from the Heitz family up in Napa. Not the best wine I ever tasted, but it was enjoyable, and it is always fun to try something unusual and hard to find.
