Today I went for an eye exam and the doctor, who was great, said that I need glasses. So off I went to get my frame and etc. the girl(young girl), who’s name I don’t remember, was very helpful and delightful. I paid for my glasses in full and they told me it would be about 2 hours and I would receive a text. 3 hours passed by and no text. I called and they said yes your glasses are ready. As I went to the store I asked another girl(Russian lady) for my glasses and she didn’t have them(when I just spoke to her on the phone and she said yes they are ready). She called the manager over and he looked for them and they noticed they gave someone else my glasses. He calls the other person who has my glasses and they can’t come back until tomorrow. The manager tells me I’m sorry we gave them away. He expected me to find a solution telling me «we will have them tomorrow» I told him i was not available tomorrow unless it’s the morning and he said«can’t someone pick them up for you?» And I told him no and then he proceeds to say«okay we will figure it out» and I leave. For a manager to let a customer leave like that is disgusting and just plain stupid. What upset me is he didn’t offer me anything for driving back and fourth 4 times. No discount no remorse. I wasn’t expecting anything but just a professional manager to make me want to come back you would. LensCrafters wants there money up front and are strict about it but you guys aren’t strict about what glasses you give away? I’m still shocked and I’m going to go to corporate

I called to make an appointment. A women named Nancy answered the telephone in a nasal voice. She was extremely rude and rendered the wrong information. If I was going to use this Lenscrafters, I surely will not anymore. If you are going to rude, at least know what you are talking about.

I took my eyeglass prescription to a local place in Closter NJ and was horrified to hear a $ 1,200 quote for a plain pair of glasses. Although I do use progressive lenses, the frames I had chosen were quite ordinary. I left the store in shock, I haven’t had a new pair for about 5 years or so but how could prices have more than doubled? So I called up my buddy Laura to ask her if I was crazy or if glasses today really do cost that much and she told me while I’m a nut I’m not crazy :-) She had just purchased new eyeglasses for less than half that price. OK, so much for local store loyalty. I went online to see what Lens Crafters had in the way of coupons and it looked good so off I went the next day. I’m also a AAA member and Lens Crafters gives great discounts to AAA members too. I met a very nice lady, Helen, who helped me at the Paramus Route 4 East store. Helen is terrific and knows what she’s doing so deciding on new frames was remarkably easy and took less time than expected. I purchased 2 pairs of eyeglasses(regular & sunglasses) for less than what I was quoted in Closter and the glasses I’m getting are more stylish and better quality. There was also a technician, Larry, who took measurements and he was a hoot. It was really a fun experience — can you imagine having fun at an eyeglass store? So for those of you who think spending $ 1,200 on a pair of eyeglasses is normal, well I can tell you there is a better way in Bergen County NJ. No doubt about it — I’m a fan of Lens Crafters now.
